We're Having a Tropical Heatwave !!

Since the Super Bowl was in Los Angeles last Sunday, I guess you know that it was in the low 80s here for a couple of days. LA is about one hour north of Huntington Beach and a little inland, so about 5 degrees hotter up there. It started on February 9th, which was also our wedding anniversary. We like being married to each other.  I had to work that day, and this is what I wore:

I am wearing the beige waterfall cardi that I got at Savers. It turns out that it is Logo by Lori Goldstein. I like the look of her flowy clothes, and the fabric is always nice. The pants are from Ann Taylor and they are a size 0, and I am not, so I imagine that they are supposed to have a looser fit.

The problem is, see the sweater with the beaded fringe? I thought it would meet the waist of the pants. But there was a 3" gap. So not work appropriate, but I didn't have time to change. So when I went over to the COVID unit for an emergency, I wore my white coat over my outfit, and then all the PPE on top. It was even more miserable than usual.

I did love the rest of the outfit, and the necklaces that I chose. They are all costume, from Nordstrom. I will repeat this look, but with a different top. I threw this one away.

On February 10th, it was peak heat. I just got a load of clothes from the dry cleaner, so I immediately wore one of my favorite dress, from Saks Fifth Avenue Black. It has a keyhole back.

I wore a costume necklace from Joan Rivers that was my mom's, along with a diamond/garnet necklace.

On Friday, February 11th, I wore one of the two sundresses that I got in Denver. It is silk, and fully lined. This is a closer look at the bright pink print.

On top, a Loft cardigan. It's not exactly the same pink as the dress, but it looks good with it. It has chiffon ruffles down the front.

I wore a gob of the turquoise jewelry that Doc has given me over the years. One of my favorite pieces is this ornate southwestern cross.

My February Ipsy bag came. It is obviously Valentine themed.

Inside from top to bottom:

1) BellaPierre Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder

2) Zion Health Elderberry Hydrating Lip Balm

3) Sulwahasoo First Care Activating Serum- antiaging Korean herb

4) Kay Voss NYC Perfecting Potion Illuminating Primer

5) Belle En Argene Reframing Tinted Brow Gel.

Unfortunately, I left my clean laundry on the floor for ten seconds. Pandi took advantage for a nice roll. I imagine that I will smell divine, because I am not rewashing my clothes.

She was extremely repentent. Look at the sweet face !! She got her dewclaw caught on her collar, and was tripoding around the house until we found her and unwound the claw. It was difficult because she was squealing and very uncooperative. I got her a cat collar with the elastic piece so she can pull it over her head and get out.

This is a look at the growth of the plants that I planted with 2 weeks in the pots. They all survived the heat wave.

On February 14th, Valentine's Day, I wore another item fresh from the cleaners. These are ivory slacks from Ann Taylor, fully lined. The slinky knit tunic is Style and Co.

I wore my Escada black suede / gold leather belt, a jet tassel necklace, a shorter gold chain, my CDC, and a white / gold costume bracelet.

On top, I wore my new leather jacket. It is a bolero style, with lavish beaded trim.

It is made by Lapis. It was a splurge, but it is nice.

For Valentine's Day, Doc got me four bouquets of flowers. I split them up into three bunches and placed them around the house.

First, I put two bouquets together in my spotted vase, and put them on the coffee table in the living room.

I put one bunch in the sun room under a picture of me and Doc that was taken in San Francisco many years ago.

The last bunch went in our bedroom, on the Mission Style TV console.

My housekeeper left me a ceramic box filled with chocolates:

On Tuesday, it was back to cold weather (63 degrees) and it actually poured with lightning and thunder that night. Our power went out multiple times so I had to bring a can of chili for lunch. Such suffering !!

For work that day, I wore striped slacks made by Ideology. On top, a greenish gray sweater from Zara with a beaded neckline. I got it in Washington DC.

On top, I wore an rusty orange suede jacket from Clio. That used to be a Macy's brand 20 years ago, and I bought a lot of their stuff during that time.

On Wednesday, February 16th, I wore another one of my favorite dresses that I haven't worn in a while. I got it in London, and it is from Tom Ford. My booties are Impo.

Here's a closer look at it. It has this elaborate embroidered panels alternating with black mesh panels. The whole body and skirt of the dress are lined in a nude fabric. I have the perfect matching jewelry set made of blue borealis teardop beads.

My February Birchbox came, also.

It has a sliding drawer with a tassel. Inside from top to bottom:

1) Grace and Stella Rosewater Facial Mist

2) Colour Pop Lux Lip in What If - supposedly fuschia, so we will see if I like it on me, all old and stuff.

3) Davines The Restless Circle Hair Mask - I need to freshen my hair color this weekend, so maybe I will use this after the first shampoo.

4) Living Proof Restore Instant Protection - an after wash spray. Will use immediately.

5) Benefit They're Real !!! Mascara - this is a full size product. I got a small one before, and I hated it because it was dried out. I think that is why they now sent us a big one. I immediately used it and it really is a good mascara!!!

On February 17th, I wore a dress that I have had since the 1990s. It's a chiffon maxi dress with a fitted silhouette.

It is lined, and it has black velvet trim at the neckline. I wore some costume jewelry with it - just some fun stuff.

I used to wear this dress with burgundy velvet platform booties. I wore them to death. Today I wore it with Moda light brown suede platform booties. I have always loved this dress, and I was happy that it still fit and looked good on me.

Well, I am going to sign off now. I know that everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting to hear my latest drivel. There are some big changes in the works, and I will let you know about them next time we chat.

Have a great day, and say a prayer for the Ukraine and for anyone else who may be suffering.
