Goldfinger

Today, I am wearing a gold sparkly blouse from Equipment.

So it's really not my finger that's gold - my whole upper body is !!! It's hard for me to believe that this blouse is 100% cotton, but that's what the label says. Here's a closer look at the beautiful fabric.

I love the subtle shimmer. I am wearing it with a Susan Lawrence knit skirt and my Talbott's velvet belt.

Once again, two necklaces - the gold serpentine chain that I have been wearing every day this week, along with a costume piece with big squared off crystals.

On my right hand, a carved stone ring, and on my left hand, a costume ring from Banana Republic that I got in Baltimore.

After today, I have 5 days off. I have some fun stuff planned. Stay tuned !!

Crazy for Coral

I have had these two pieces for a while, and usually always wear the top with white pants and the skirt with a raspberry tank top and an ivory cardigan. I was rooting around in my cavernous closet for the skirt I wore yesterday, and saw this Celine skirt. And Voila!!!

The cold shoulder top is from Saks, and it has embellishment around the neckline in various metal tones, so any kind of jewelry can be worn with it. I am a fan of yellow gold, so that's what I wore.

This is a Joan Rivers convertible pin/necklace, and it has various colors of outer and inner petals that can be interchanged. I also kept wearing the serpentine gold chain that I wore yesterday.

On my right arm, I have an INC cuff that I got in Fort Lauderdale, and a white enamel/crystal ring that is from Saks.

On my left arm, a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks, and my yellow gold wedding set.

And one outtake that Doc took of me, rooting through my purse for something. A live action shot!!!

Waiting for the Word

We are on survey watch here at the hospital. If the inspectors don't come tomorrow, then I can take some extra days off later in the week. Fingers crossed.

On Saturday night, we met our accountant and his wife at Solita, a nearby Mexican restaurant.

The restaurant is located in Bella Terra, a nearby mall. We can actually walk there, but we Ubered.

We requested seating in the patio. There were some friends of ours at another table, and they bought our drinks for us.

Doc had the fish tacos.

I had a quesadilla of carne, spinach, and roasted corn. There was plenty to share.

Here's what I wore:

This black knit sheath dress is by Sun Moon Stars. I had originally picked out another pair of shoes, but they disintegrated once I stood on them. So I went with choice number 2.

These wacky gold sandals are by Nine West. A simple dress like the one I am wearing is perfect for shoes this strange.

I wore two rose gold necklaces. The top one is a lacy heart (not a Locket) and the bottom one is diamond pave in another lacy pattern.

Two amethyst bracelets on my right arm.

Two gold bracelets on my left arm.

It was a nice evening. But now, back to work. Here is what I am wearing today :

This is the Serena Williams top that I got at the rummage sale. The skirt is hand made by me, many many years ago.

I wore a Joan Rivers necklace, along with a gold flat chain.

On my right arm, a malachite ring and an enamel bangle.

On my left arm, my Swarovski Nirvana in Indolite, along with two more enamel bangles.

And that's all !!! Linking with Cherie at www.stylenudge.com and Deb at www.elegantlyfashionable.com.

Have a great day, and I'll see you all later!!!

Let's Go Rummaging !!!

I got too busy to post yesterday, but this is what I wore:

This is a Saks Fifth Avenue Black dress, worn with Isaac Mizrahi shoes.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is amethyst, and the longer one is a heart shaped diamond pendant. Both are hanging from gold chains. Both were from my mom's estate.

On my right arm, a garnet ring, and an amethyst tennis bracelet.

On my left arm, my Swarovksi Trema ring, and two gold bracelets.

This morning, the local Catholic church, St Vincent de Paul, had their annual rummage sale. Last year's sale was so slim in the pickens that I had a hard time finding a couple of things to buy. I try to support any reasonable fund raising endeavors. Anyway, this year, it was great !!! First, I headed back to the Boutique area, where the higher end items are. I found two treasures:

A gorgeous white woven ottoman blazer from St John. It had the coolest gold tone details:

There were metal tips on the pocket edges.

They were also on the lapel tips, and the zipper pull was heavy and ornate. The closest jacket I could find on their website retails for $1795. I paid $40.

Then, I found a heavy weight jersey dress by White House Black Market. It has tiers that are connected with fine faggoting, a square neckline, and a flounce at the hem.

The closest dress I could find on thier website was $160, and I paid $5.75.

Then I went into the main hall. I got a couple of Tony Horton workout tapes. I also got several items of clothing. I haven't gone on a major shop for a couple of months, because I was helping with my mom. Anyway, this is what I found:. I paid $10.75 for all this stuff. I have the website prices next to the description.

This is a Damon and Drapers jacket of heavy weight jersey with buttons on both sides, so that it is reversible. Most of their jackets of this type of fabric cost about $80.

This next top is 100% silk, and has a Casual Corner label. They were around in the 70s and 80s.

It has embellished details. I found one on Ebay for $15.

This next top is by Serena Williams. I believe she markets through Home Shopping Network.

It's a very heavy weight jersey and it has tiny nailhead detail. On the website, it retails for $70.

Then I found a purple and black brocade skirt. It is fully lined. I would estimate it to be of about Banana Republic quality. I am guessing that the retail price would be similar, so $100.

Speaking of Banana Republic, I found this 100% cotton crew neck sweater. A similar one on their website costs around $68.

I found another Banana Republic cardigan, this time embellished with lace bands.

It seems like the similar ones on their website cost $128.

And finally, a cardigan from Charter Club, a Macy's brand. They retail for $39.99.

So after the rummage sale, I went for a run through Huntington Beach Central Park. I saw my new Egyptian Goose flock. The top picture is from May 22, and the bottom one from today, June 25.

They are getting so big!!! Now we have at least 8 of them in the park.

Last weekend, Annie kept stealing Elli's bowl and running around with it in her mouth. So we got her one of her own, only in a bigger size more appropriate for a German Shepherd Dog.

And that's all!!!

Have a great weekend, and I'll see you all on Monday!!!
