Seeing Spots Before My Eyes

No, I don't have any of the scary tropical diseases that are currently in the news (even though they are always here, they don't go away). I am just wearing some spots. On my top, not my skin. Today, I decided to go for a easy, cool and comfy look for work.
Both of these pieces were thrifted - I forget where. The top is by Ann Taylor and the pants are a slim leg cigarette style called the Drew fit, made by The Limited. I normally don't like the way skinny pants look on me, but I do have two pair of cigarette pants, and I like them both. The sash is one that I found in the drawer where I keep an assortment of ribbons and other things. I was originally going to tie it around the waist of the top, but that was all kinds of wrong. The pants ride a bit low on the hips, and the waistband with belt loops would have been all exposed if I did that, so I used it as a belt instead. Here's a closeup of the waist situation.

Since there was a lot going on in that region, I went with a shorter necklace. It's my pearl torsade in multiple brown shades of freshwater pearls.

I also made a game day substitution with my shoes. I was orignally considering a pair of brown leather Maryjanes, but I felt that my Enzo Angiolini gladiators were a better fit with the pant length. In this shot, you can also see that the pants have a deep cuff at the ankle. And you can see the remains of my pedicure. I need to fix the toe situation soon.

I have been a runner for a long time - I started at 18 (I was going to UCSD and had to take a PE course, and running was the only thing that was open). After 37 years, the second toe on both feet is twisted, and I have to be vigilant about keeping the nail short. So, onto my jewelry. On my left arm, I have the watch and two of the bracelets from my RJ Graziano set, and my Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond.
On my right arm, I have my boulder ring that I got at Nordstrom, and the friend of my other leather cuff - this one is brown and black, with three little quartz stones - the mustard and black one has hematite in the center.

Today, I am linking up at www.stylelixir.com for Summer Glam. There are a lot of glamorous ladies there - I guess I'll stow away for the ride. My last attempt at glamour failed miserably. I bought a bottle of "instant face lifting serum" from HSN, and it came just as I was leaving on vacation. I put it in the cabinet in the master bath, where I keep my potions. When I opened the cabinet after returning, the bottle had burst and leaked the gooey stuff everywhere. I normally would have requested a replacement, but it dissolved the paint, so there is no way I am putting that on my face. I prefer wrinkles to being faceless. Well, see you all later!!!
