Sparkly Silver

Today, I am debuting the final easy care pants set that I purchased a couple of months ago:

This one is also made by Slinky Brand, and came from HSN. It's an ocean blue polyester/spandex knit with silver embellishments on the top. The top is tunic length and has 3/4 sleeves. The pants are elastic waist. I got a size small, and it is generously proportioned. The chain link belt I am wearing has clear crystals on each link. The necklace is one that my mom gave me for my birthday a couple of years ago.

I went with silver sandals that I don't wear very often.

On my right arm, I have a turquoise elasticized bracelet and a ring of amethyst and opal.

On my left arm, a stretchy silver costume bracelet and my Swarovksi Trema ring.

And that's about all for today. I have four linkups going on for today. First, www.jolynneshane.com has Fashion Friday, and Deb at www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Fab Friday. Then, Dawn Lucy at www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. And finally, Sheree has Weekend Wear over at www.poshclassymom.com.

Have a good weekend, and see you around the bend !!!

Just Peachy

Once again, I got all creative and remixed some of my favorite items in a new way.

This is a Kasper suit jacket, paired with an Ann Taylor skirt and a NY Collection peach peasant blouse. I added the vintage chain belt for a sassy touch - thank goodness, because look at that sassy expression on my face. :(

I am also wearing an Ann Taylor necklace that I picked up in Orlando when I was there in December.

On my right arm, I have my Swarovksi Trema ring , and on my left hand, an enamel ring from Nordstrom.

Once again, my Coach sandals. These sandals are actually very comfortable, even though I would never have guessed that by looking at them.

Two links today - Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday, and Nicole at www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style.

Well, today's schedule includes work and setting up hospice care for my mom, who is 96 and in failing health. She has lived a long and happy life and is at peace with everything. Have a good day!!

It's Polka Time - Roll Out the Barrel

Today's outfit is another mix up of things I already had, but never wore together.

This outfit is composed of ancient ivory pull on pants, an Old Navy long sleeved polka dot T shirt, and a sweater vest by Romeo and Juliet Couture. The vest has a deep ruffle of ivory Chantilly lace at the bottom, under the sweater knit flounce.

I am wearing the necklace that I got in Kansas City a couple of summers ago.

On my right arm, a sapphire cocktail ring and an INC stretch bracelet.

On my left arm, the matching ruby cocktail ring, and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.

And that's it for polka time. Wednesday's links:

All That Glitters is Gold !!!

I am very glittery today. I have on a black dress with gold lurex paneling down the front. It is made by Connected, and I got it at Macy's.

On top, I have a pearlized gold leather jacket made by Concept. I got it at Stein Mart.

Here is a closer look at the two materials that these items are made from.

I am wearing the rose gold costume necklace from INC that I picked up in Las Vegas.

On my right arm, I have a smoky topaz ring and a gold/diamond dust bangle.

On my left arm, my Claddagh wedding ring that Doc got for me when we were in Ireland, and the beaded bracelet that I picked up at the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach.

So let's get linking. First, Ana Luiza at www.northwestblonde.com has Start The Week stylish. Today's theme is Yellow, but Gold is close enough, right?  Then, Rachel at www.garaytreasures.com has Bloggers Who Inspire Me . And as always, on Tuesday, Jess has Turning Heads Tuesday over at www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com.

Have a great day!!!

The Floral Arrangement

As you know, here in SoCal we have been restricting our water usage due to the drought. It has finally eased up somewhat, at least enough so that we can now have flowers instead of just cacti and succulents. So I headed over to Lowe's this weekend.

I got a load of posies and some Miracle-Gro soil, so there will be no need to fertilize. Then I proceeded to plant. First the front porch:

Then, I lined the circular driveway where there are still a couple of brown patches.

And finally, I added two yellow plants to the garage window, where I have geraniums under the shelf.

Yesterday, after all this digging, I didn't feel like working out, so I went over to Daiso and got a few little tchotchkes.

Doc is kinda messy when he makes his breakfast, so the foil burner liners are for that. Then, since we have lost most of our skewers, I replaced them. And the brown paper is for soaking up the grease from fried foods.

I also got Doc a banana hanger, and the little seven hole dish for his food, since he likes a million kinds of sauce on everything. The other two dishes are for Elli's tiny little meals, and a happy cat bank for her savings :)

I actually needed disposable shower caps and a new pad for my ironing board.

Then, I got a bag for fragile items for my trip in a month, a little box with a Paris scene on it, and another divided tray for jewelry. The last one worked out great for me.

Finally, another visor, since the one I have is getting gross from my sweat, a pair of liner socks, since they seem to disappear in the laundry, and some pads for your armpits to protect expensive jackets.

So now, onto what I am wearing today. I finally found a version of this skirt that I like:

Every other time I have worn this skirt, I have felt like a stewardess. It's made by Worthington, a JCP brand. On top, I have a nice thick jersey jacket from Bloomingdale's. Under that, a simple white tank. The weird thing is that the skirt has a zipper on both sides.

I actually went to get another navy and white costume necklace, but when I was holding this in my hand, it seemed to go very well, so I went with it.

On my right arm, the matching white enamel/crystal ring and bracelet set from Saks.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and my nicest diamond tennis bracelet

I finished it off with my Coach sandals.

Three links today - first, Deb from www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday. Then, Cherie at www.stylenudge.com has Shoe and Tell. And finally, Patti at www.notdeadyetstyle.com has Visible Monday.

Here's to a great work week for all of us!!!

Happy Earth Day !!!

I celebrated our gorgeous planet by wearing the colors of the sun and the sea :

The yellow jacket is by Talbott's, the navy geometric skirt is by Ann Taylor, and the tank with the attached scarf is by Coldwater Creek. Here's a look without the jacket:

I wore a statement necklace from Charming Charlie that has all the colors in it as well.

My vintage belt is composed of navy cords with gold tone stations.

On my right arm, I am wearing a crystal/enamel ring from Saks, and a trio of sapphire bracelets.

On my left arm, a London Blue topaz ring and a costume gold watch by Vernier.

Since we always buy our free range eggs from grandson Preston, he decided to go all professional on us and have his brand placed on designer egg cartons.

The cartons are recycled by his patrons - after we finish the eggs, he fills up the carton for us.

Well, yesterday was Elli's day at the office. She wasted no time in getting all up close and personal with Elesha.

They are in love. But one of her other besties, Renee, had a bit of jealousy going on, and finally got her one on one time with Elli the Office Pea Pod.

All is well in lovey dovey land.

Four Friday linkups !!! www.jolynneshane.com has Fashion Friday, and Deb has Fab Friday over at www.elegantlyfashionable.com. Then Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. And finally, Sheree at www.poshclassymom.com has Weekend Wear.

Well, have  a good weekend !!!  Mine is guaranteed to be better than last week, since I spent that time in an influenza induced stupor.

PS> RIP Prince. I will always love "I Wanna Be Your Lover".
