Weekend Wedding

I am sure that I have probably told you many times already that we are very short staffed at work due to pregnancy LOAs. And there was my nephew in law Collin's wedding this weekend down in San Diego. I drove myself, Doc, Mimi and Win down and back. It was fairly exhausting.

But back to last Friday, and what I wore:

Two old items, in a new combo. I got a lot of compliments. I wore my black leather moto jacket from Neiman Marcus on top.

The top was a loose fit knit T with a sorta checkerboard sequin pattern.

The skirt is a black, white and blue knit with godets.

I wore two necklaces - one gold herringbone and one lapis/jade.

On my left arm, a turquoise blue enamel bangle and a London Blue topaz ring.

On my right arm, a gold bracelet and a sapphire/diamond ring.

The wedding was LDS (Mormon) so a very conservative look was needed. Luckily, I made this dress for Collin's brother Ryan's wedding about five years ago, and this wedding had poppy as the theme color, so out it came again.

It's just a lace shift with a surprise in the back - a big bow.

Two simple necklace - gold herringbone and diamond "Journey Through Life" pendant - both were my mom's.

These sparkly Style and Co shoes also come out to play for conservative occasions.

On my left arm only, my yellow gold wedding rings and the same Italian gold bracelet.

The venue was a private home of some friends of the bride's family. It was a huge and beautiful house, way out in the Carmel Valley.

It is very hilly and countryside-ish, as you can see. There were small house, cottage house, and a few other enormous homes out there.

This is the neighbor, directly below. That sliver below the sunset is the ocean. It's about 8 miles away as the crow flies.

There was a stable for nearby home owners to board their horses.

Yesterday, we did some shopping and what not. For dinner, I made a homemade pesto pizza. First, I sauteed onions and peppers.

Then I flattened out biscuit dough and used pesto sauce from a jar.

I baked it and then added cheese for the last five minutes.

I put salsa on top of mine. Doc put artichoke hearts and sausage. It was good but salty.

Today, I have a service awards luncheon. I have been here either 9 or 10 years. We'll see. I wore a crochet tunic from Louis Dell'Olio and some dark brown slacks that I got at Stein Mart in 2007. I remember getting this outfit for some occasion.

The turquoise embroidery at the hem is quite pretty, and the color combo is unique.

To combine the colors, I used two Joan Rivers turquoise and pearl ropes, and clasped them together with a Swarovski pin that I got at Nordstrom.

Anyway, that's about it, and I will see you all soon !!
