It's Getting Very Spooky Round Here

October whizzed by !!! You would think that days would drag by because of the outbreak and no where to go, but it seems like everyone is accustomed to the new practices we must use to protect ourselves and just go about our business as usual. We still miss going to the library and the swap meet.

Let's check out some of my outfits and critique them. On Oct 6th,

A tried and true dress from Ann Taylor. It never needs ironing and always looks great.

I wore my red leather jacket, my black suede Sesto Meucci shoes and a Talbots velvet belt. Boring but successful.

The next day I decided to break out my new boots. All of my boots died last year, so I had to get new black, grey and winter white ones.

An unknown ivory lace tunic, a chiffon skirt from Ann Taylor and a belt from White House Black Market.

Then, I busted out the new dress that I got at JC Penney when we were at the deserted mall. Doc was jonesing for the library, but since it's still closed, he went to Book Off. He likes to spend a long time in there, so I ended up at JC Penney, where I got this Liz Claiborne dress for about $6.

It's a thick double knit fabric with a nice border type print, and you couldn't find a better dress for fall.

By Friday I was tired of work. I went for another tried and true outfit. I got this dress at Stein Mart a long time ago. Stein Mart is another casualty of the pandemic - they are closing their big store here in HB.

This necklace was my mom's, and it's Kenneth Jay Lane.

After a relaxing weekend, I wore this Anne Klein knit dress on Monday. It's a flat santana type fabric.

My black suede shoes with the stacked wood heel are from Halogen.

Then we had yet another heat wave. I wore this dress from Cynthia Rowley that I got at a thrift shop somewhere.

It looked pretty blah on the hanger, but it does look good on. It's a lacy stretchy fabric.

This crystal and pearl necklace was a souvenir from Charlotte, NC, from the Taste of Charlotte.

Then, we had a Magnet Recertification Survey at the hospital. The staff member who was supposed to serve as an escort got sick, so I was asked to substitute. I wore ivory vintage slacks and another JC Penney find. I got a ton of compliments on this simple look.

I wore a gold Calvin Klein belt and this pearl and crystal necklace that I got at a Gilt sale.

I did not like this outfit. The sweater is going.  It is itchy and unflattering and I have had it a long time, so now it's time for someone else to enjoy it.

The pants will stay. They are from INC and they are the kind that shrink in the wash and then get huge by the end of the day. This is the shrunken version. Fortunately, they don't need to be washed with every wearing.

This top is another piece that will end up donated. It is from H&M and when I washed it, it ended up extremely tight.

This necklace was also my mom's. I think it is Joan Rivers.

Then it was the weekend. After relaxing and reading, this is what I wore to work on Monday.

The pants are dark grey with a green stripe, and are from Sele. The top is from Vince Camuto.

On top, a dark grey jacket from Astuces. We had a virtual Comission on Cancer Survey this day, so I wanted to look and feel professional even though no one could see me.

Then we got word that we would have an OSHA survey the next day. Enough of the surveys.
This one was in person, so I wore a shift dress from Petite Sophisticate that is also being donated because I just didn't like it.

The jacket is from Classiques Entier and it will stay. It's navy with a burgundy pinstripe.

So I wore my last pair of undamaged pantyhose for the survey. So until my Silkies order comes, I will be sticking to pants. I wore my Express Editor pants with a Fendi sweater. Very comfy.

I finally got back my creative spark the next day. I wore tan moleskin slacks, a sequined tunic and a waterfall cardigan from The Limited. I liked this outfit.

I don't know why I am crouching down, but whatever. I got this rose gold and pewter crystal necklace at Macy's in Fort Lauderdale.

Finally, Friday !!! And payday !!! Unfortunately, my Mercedes needed a new battery, so goodbye $500. Oh well, I do love my little fast and furious car.

While waiting for AAA to jump me so I could drop the car off at Firestone, I wore a beautiful Albert Makali sweater.

All tan underneath. This agate necklace also came from the Taste of Charlotte.

My Qctober makeup bags came !! First, the Birchbox:

From top to bottom:
1) Davines DEDE shampoo and conditioner - gentle for daily use
2) Luxie Beauty 243 Precision Blender Brush in Rose Gold
3) Oribe Featherbalm Weightless Styler - a leave in conditioner
4) Kiehl's Powerful Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum
5) Chella La Vie Neutral Eyeshadow Palette - a total bomb. More on this horrible product later.

I did like the black Ipsy bag that says "You're Magic" in gold.

Inside, from top to bottom:
1) Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator for no makeup mornings.
2) IBY Beauty Radiant Glow Highliter in 24 K Magic
3) Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel - Volume for eyebrows?????
4) Doucce Ultra Precision Eyeliner in Black
5) R+CO Waterfall Moisture and Shine Lotion for dry hair.

So I used the Chella eyeshadow, all excited, and my eyes burned and watered. Not a good thing when there is a pandemic and you are not supposed to touch your face. It was misery. This is after 3 benadryl.

Here is the culprit. Hello, garbage can.

It could be the metallic flecks in the gold.

I made a cute bat decoration to hang on our Ring doorbell.

Also, I guess it was Boss' Day sometime last week, so the staff got me a giant bouquet of beautiful flowers. They lasted almost 2 weeks.

On October 18th, it was my MIL, Mimi's 87th birthday. We had a picnic outdoors in the park. We got her favorite KFC and the grandkids all came by. I assembled a potpourri of stuff for her gift.

She loves cosmetic samples, so I collected a few out of my stash for her.

I got her this sentimental sign at Hobby Lobby. She also likes stuff like this.

And a black lab Christmas ornament in memory of her beloved Bella.

Finally, a peach and orange candle from Ikea.

Speaking of Ikea, I made a trip down there for their candles - I love them . I got a few.

I like to look around their marketplace. I got a new shower squeegee and a dish soap dispenser.

And two lanterns with tea lights for them.

The red one went in my bathroom.

The white one went in the corner of the garden window in the kitchen.

Here's the soap dispenser in its place.

Pandi got into a little tussle with the reusable shopping bag.

She ended up all tangled and had to be rescued.

I also finally framed my 1945 monkey calendar for the kitchen.

The copper molds that were there got moved to the opposite wall. I like how it turned out.

And I made this Cajun sausage and corn chowder. It was delicious. The recipe came from the Epoch Times.

I fertilized the yard, and as a consequence, I now have a ton of flowers.

Just look at this rose bush !!!

And my bridal veil lilies are blooming. I always love these.

So this week will bring Doc's 63rd birthday, a bridal shower at work (virtual) and Halloween. Stay  tuned !!! We were going to have a little party, but everyone is still scared of COVID so we decided not to do it. I will show you the grandkid's gifts.
