Winter Winds Up

It's time for my winter wardrobe wrap up.!!!! As a licensed scientist, I know that analysis of the data sometimes yields conclusions that we weren't counting on. A case in point is this winter's outfits. I would have thought that black would lead by a mile as my preferred color, but the actual results were much closer.

Black = 14
Brown/Tan = 10
Blue = 5
Red = 4
Ivory or white = 3
Green or grey = 2
Pink or purple =2

As for shoes, my black ankle booties were the favorites, followed by my brown suede boots and my Calvin Klein pilgrim shoes. And dark colors clocked in 19 wears, whereas light colors had 17 appearances. So let's start by looking at MY favorite outfit, which I wore on February 17th:

My tan and black faux lace INC pants, with a black crocheted sweater and my matte gold leather jacket. I got compliments ALL DAY LONG and I was comfy and felt great. Number Two was also a pants outfit that I wore to my niece's baby shower:

I wore gold raw silk cigarette pants with a Catherine Malandrino sweater and Sole Society shoes. It was so luxe, yet so comfy and easy. Number Three was an outfit I repeat on occasion, since it is sooooo cool.

More pants!!!! This time, it's my Bebe lace up ankle pants, with a double layered sweater vest and an ivory blouse. One of my favorite doctors actually said that this was the cutest thing he had ever seen. I also wore an oldie but goodie on March 5 - a wrap dress with all the trimmings. Finally, a skirt makes an appearance!!!

This lovely, flattering outfit also incorporated my new deep red leather jacket that I scored at the swap meet. January 5th marked a day when I got a lot of compliments. I felt very exclusive and luxurious in my tan suede maxi skirt.

Glittery and swishy and flappy and full of texture and shine!!! And an honorable mention goes to the cute and sexy outfit I wore to take the older gals out for birthday lunch on 1/31.

My matte gold leather jacket also topped this sweet little number. Now for the duds. The outfit I hated the most occurred on February 6. The red pants were just toooo big, and I felt generally baggy and saggy and yuck. I have worn this same outfit with better fitting red slacks, so this will never happen again.

My second most hated getup also involved something that didn't fit so well. The white dress that I wore on March 16th definitely needs some taking in around the midsection area.

I am grabbing a HANDFULL of fabric in this hot to make it look decent. In reality, horrible. Next, we have the disaster I wore on January 12 -  a classic, but sadly dated look by Pendleton.

I looked like I belonged in a 1970s vintage Seventeen Magazine spread. Yuck, Next, we have the mistake of March 20th:

Blech, yuck, gross, bad bad bad!!! I have worn these pants with success and will revert to that outfit the next time. Lastly, we have the outfit I wore on February 2:

Some people liked this one - I got a few comments that I looked like a teeny bopper. Well, I just didn't feel like this dress was flattering, and I will not wear it again, so I am going to give it to someone who will.

Here's a real quick look at my most popular shoes :

My black ankle boots, my brown suede knee boots with the gold chains, and my all time favorite Calvin Klein pilgrim shoes. I wasn't really surprised - I love all three of these pairs of shoes.

Well, now we are in Spring. Any predictions ??? I am staring it out with tan and brown, so we will see. Thanks for taking this little e review trip with me, and let's not repeat our mistakes. That's one big advantage of blogging - I get to remember just how bad or good my selections were on any given day. But in the end, fashion is fun, it's a hobby, and I enjoy it, so I will keep on trying until I have all successes. See you all later!!!
