The Classic Corset

Today, I decided to wear a very old dress that I haven't worn for a long time. My memory of it was that it was uncomfortable, my bra straps showed and it was a general PITA. So I tried it again to see if I should give it away or keep it. The only reason I considered keeping it was that Doc loves it.

To solve the bra situation, I wore a tissue thin black tank underneath. And I guess that maybe I was a bit fatter back yonder, because it's not at all uncomfortable (very stretchy fabric). The only problem is the wrinkliness. Not bad for 58 years old (me, not the dress).

Here is a closeup of the corset style top. One other issue - not at all work appropriate on it's own.

Once I have it covered by a longer length Dana Buchman blazer, it's okay to go. Also, I wear a lab coat length exam jacket when I am out on the floors in the hospital, so my professionalism is intact.

Two necklaces, both my mom's legacy. One is a shorter silver herringbone chain, and the other is a KJL costume pendant.

On my right arm, an onyx spaceship ring and a studded leather wrap around bracelet.

On my left arm, two silver bracelets, a round solitaire, and my new bling, a small diamond eternity band. The stones go all the way around.

The verdict is : keep one more year, unless I find the perfect person to gift the dress to.
