OUCH !!!

We'll get to the title of this post at the very end, so stay tuned if you're curious. But the first, and most important thing is Jacki's love life. Her number one man Peanut came over to play for an afternoon.

On November 7th, I wore my beautiful vintage knit blazer by Le Roy. I paired it with a red tank top and navy slacks. There's also a closeup of the high-quality fabric that it is made of.

On November 8th, I wore a three-piece set from Onque. The black slacks have a tonal sequin waistband, and the T shirt and jacket have both black and clear sequins. I haven't worn this set in quite a while although I love it. I wore my white booties with it.

On November 9th, I wore an equestrian print satin baseball jacket with black ponte pants and a black tank. I kept the white booties from the day before once again.

On November 10th, I wore a tweed skirt from Gucci with a chiffon peasant blouse from Guess. I wore Jewel from Badgely Mischka sandals and my Eric the Bloodaxe coin necklace.

I wore a short thick jersey jacket embellished with clear rhinestones on top. It's from Cache.

My grandson Preston is in his first year of high school and is doing wrestling right now. His first duel was against Northwood High from Irvine, and he pinned his opponent in 7 seconds!!

On Sunday November 12th, Luke and Ashley dropped by while Preston was at Model United Nations. They saw this monkey in a thrift shop and got it for me because they said it looked like me. Quite accurate.

Jacki was paddling in the pool but came alive when Luke and Ashley were playing with her.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Temu, because it was super cheap. First up, this two-piece warmup suit with leopard pattern casual loafers. I like both of these items.

Next. some platform sneakers. Haven't worn them yet, but I am planning to wear them to lunch with my brother and his girlfriend Karin on the 19th.

Update : wore the sneakers and they are great !!!

Next up, these slingback pumps in brown tones with a gold ring detail. I wore them and they were very comfy but a bit squeaky. Well worth the low price, however.

This burnt orange turtleneck is a thin double-knit fabric as opposed to the typical jersey or knit fabric. The draping is wonderfully flattering, and I got many compliments on this piece. You will see how I wore it shortly.

Then I got this argyle print turtleneck sweater in a fine Santana knit. It was much nicer than expected.

I got a muumuu for nightwear and casual wear around the house. The material isn't that nice, but it is darn comfy and came in very handy when the title of this post happened. It allowed me to sleep comfortably for a couple days.

That's the end of the bargain items. When we were in Boston, I saw this sweater at the Macy's downtown. I had an email from the Macy's here in SoCal, so I showed it to them and asked if they would honor the 60% off. Then the nice lady found a $25 off coupon for me to use also!! They shipped the sweater to my home for free!. I got a $129.50 INC studded sweater for $26!!!

On Monday November 13th, I wore my ivory pleated slacks with a satin tunic top. I wore aquamarine jewelry set in gold (hard to find, it's usually set in silver) and a vintage ivory leather belt with a gold buckle.

On Tuesday, I debuted the burnt orange turtleneck with an ivory pants suit from Georgiou.  I have had this suit for a long time, like the black and yellow set, but haven't worn it lately. Luckily, both still fit well.

I got my Birchbox that evening. In it, from top to bottom:

1) Arrow Oil Cleansing Spray - full size!!

2) Sample size Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Plus

3) Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser

4) Dermatologist Choice pH Balanced Cleanser

I also got my Ipsy bag. I purchased a few extra items that were on sale and very well priced. First, the bag.

1) Juliette Has A Gun Perfume in Lust For Sun

2) Estate Precision Liquid Liner in Black

3) Ciate Loose Finishing Powder

4) Unzipped Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Deep Berry

5) Beauty Stat Universal C Skin Refiner.

The extras, from Right to left:

1) A Mally Roncal Eyeshadow palette in Best Dressed Lids.

2) Conserving Beauty Conserve You Face Oil

3) Tula Skincare Take Care and Polish Revitalize and Cleanse Body Exfoliator

4) KAB Cosmetics Eyeshadow quads - I got a brown toned set and a plum toned set.

5) A four-piece set of Clinique cleansers - big bottles with all different styles of cleansers.

Here are the palettes opened so you can see the colors. I gave the Mally Roncal palette, the liquid eyeliner, the perfume, and a bright red Colour Pop lipstick to a friend whose cat had to be put down over the weekend. She was happy to get them, and it made her feel better for a bit.

Now to the title of this post. Here is the outfit I wore on Wednesday, November 15th. It was designed around these suede boots. They are peach with gold heart shaped studs. I got them in Tucson a couple of years ago and never wore them for some reason. So, I wore my pale pink satin tunic top from Pleione with coordinating taupe leggings. All was well, at least until lunch.

It rained very hard that day. The forecast was for light rain or sprinkles but there was much more than that. It subsided a bit, so I went for my usual walk at lunch, taking my umbrella with me. I got almost the entire way when all of a sudden, thunder and lightning started. As I put up my umbrella and headed back to my office, my right knee completely gave way. I could not move - the pain was excruciating, and I couldn't even touch my toe to the ground without a sharp pain shooting up my leg. I was standing in the storm, holding a lightning rod, and could not move. Luckily, the manager of the valet parking, Fabian, saw me and gave me a ride in the golf cart back to my building. Then he got a wheelchair and pushed me up to my office on the fourth floor. Then Daniel pushed me down to the driveway, where Doc was waiting for me. I called him and asked him to take me to Urgent Care. I was convinced that my knee was blown out and I would need surgery. I saw a doctor and had Xrays done, and it's just an osteoarthritis flare and a sprained muscle.

I am doing the RICE protocol - rest, ice, compression, and elevation. It's now Saturday, and I am feeling about 75% better. It is unbelievable to me that I have improved this much!  If you asked me, I would have said that it would take a month, judging by how bad I felt on Wednesday. But I am still going to use my crutches for the entire week as instructed. Today was the first day that I did a workout - there are lots of seated workouts for people who are recovering from lower body injuries, and they are challenging! So I don't need to worry about losing fitness.

On November 19th, we met my brother Bob and his girlfriend Karin at the Rusty Pelican restaurant in Newport Beach. We are spending Thanksgiving with Win and Mimi, and they are hosting Karin's brother and his family since they just got back from a trip. I wore the new INC sweater with the platform sneakers.

I took my crutches since I need to use them for a few more days, but I didn't have a problem. The Rusty Pelican is a restaurant that I used to go to when I worked in Newport Beach. I have also gone there for parties and happy hours, and they have the world's greatest garlic bread. We had two orders.

Pandi has been a very good nurse, sitting with me as I watch TV in my theater chair with my leg elevated. Her sweet nature is a real comfort.

That's all for now !!! The holidays are coming up, and that always brings some nice sparkly outfits and a party or two. So stay tuned for all the excitement!!
