A Sad Day in L.A.

This morning, a commuter train hit a pickup that stalled on the tracks. 3 cars and an engine derailed, and there were a lot of injuries. Also, last night when we went up to LA to go to the Clipper game, a car caught fire on the freeway, during rush hour, in the heart of downtown (where the 110 meets the 101 for you Angelenos). I can't imagine being in one of the cars next to the burning one - how frightening. And on a minor note, the Clippers lost in the last 1.5 seconds. Our hero, Chris Paul (CP3 !!!) boofed it. He was heartbroken. Here's a picture of the opening laser extravaganza.

They project images onto the floor. It's so cool. Here's a pic with the floor all lit up, ready to go.

Onto today's outfit. It's a little chilly today, so I wore a sweater knit combo.

The knit skirt is by Merona, the teal turtleneck is by Joseph A, and the grey swing jacket is by Elle. Nothing real pricy here. I decided to go with my grey suede boots - they haven't gotten much lovin' yet this year. The skirt hits below the knee, so a shorter bootie or shoe would make me look even more stumpy than usual.

I chose a turquoise necklace that hits right at the sweet spot between the turtleneck and the top of the jacket.

You can see the origami-like detail on this cute little jacket here. On my left arm ,

I wore a bracelet of larimar, citrine, freshwater pearl and aurora borealis. I also wore a round diamond solitaire and a Swarovksi wide band. Quite dramatic. On my right arm, just one ring.

My silver spaceship ring with the mother of pearl inlay. I have this same ring in onyx.

So onto the links. A new cutie, Ashley at www.raspberryglow.com is hosting Trend Spin. This week's trend is faux fur. So my Donna Salyer purse fits right in.

I love this luxurious purse. Also, Rhea at www.rheaetcetera.com is hosting Style To Inspire. I will let you guys decide if I am an inspiration :). At any rate, let's hope that there are no fatalities from the train crash, and that everyone on the freeway last night got out safely. Some days, there is nowhere to go but up.
