A Wicked, Wound Up Week Ahead

This week should be interesting. In addition to work, I have a Medical Staff Annual meeting to attend, then I am a bus hostess for our corporate summit held at Disneyland, then on Friday, I am off to Charlotte, North Carolina, to attend my professional organization's annual educational conference. I am all packed and ready to go. I had been keeping a whole set of toiletries and necessities all packed and ready to go during my mom's final illness, so it will come in handy now.

So this weekend, we just wrapped up some legal matters with my mom's estate, then did some shopping and relaxing. One of our stops was Trader Joe's. I wanted to get a mixed bouquet to split up and put at various places around the house. Here's how that played out.

I put a stargazer and some greenery near the French Doors leading to the pool.

Look how much it opened overnight!! It's huge!!!

I put a sunflower and some yellow daisies on the grainy wood desk that we set up on Wednesday.

And finally, more red roses and some stock for the cedar chest.

Also at Trader Joe's, we got some delicious frozen food to heat up. We got a Queso Fundido pizza, a chicken pot pie, and this coiled Greek bread made of filo dough and four cheeses.

I added this cheese to the top of the pizza. Everything was delicious, and will quickly restore the couple of pounds I lost due to all the hullabaloo of the past month.

My mom had a gob of comforters and blankets, so out went our old ones and in came hers. I spent most of Saturday afternoon washing and redressing the bed. I love to plop onto a fresh, fluffy, clean bed.

We now have nine pillows. The odd man out gets to sit on the foot of the bed, and Doc and I get four apiece. I also washed and fluffed Elli's two beds.

Speaking of Elli, I took her with me to Wal Mart on Sunday morning. I wanted to stock up and Cesar, Pedigree wet, and Pedigree dry food for everyone. Doc will be at home keeping the ranch safe, so I made sure that he has all the necessary doggie essentials. She was mobbed by little kids a couple of times, and got to help pick out her favorite Cesar flavors (Meat Lasagna and Beef Stroganoff).

Then, I worked out and prepared a couple of outfits for the week. During this time, Nathan came by and picked up our dining set to take to his house, because......

We got a new one!!! It's unusual, because the chairs have no backs. Doc and I like it because it will require us to sit up straight (me) and it looks like it came from a pirate ship (Doc).

It is wrought iron with a rustic plank top.

And her it is, all set up and decorated. Kim called and said the old one is perfect -all 5 of them can sit together at it, with one space left over.  So a success all around.

Back to work today, and what am I wearing??

This is a bright blue Slinky Brand knit pants set with silver embellishment on the tunic. It's super comfy. I added a silver chain belt for some shape.

I wore a silver braided necklace that has diamond cutting to make it even more sparkly.

On my right arm, a turquoise cuff and a triple stone blue topaz ring.

On my left, another turquoise cuff and a London Blue topaz ring.
