So for starters, I got some hair care products. There was a trio made by Davines, which includes Love Smoothing Shampoo, Conditioner and OI All in One Milk. The directions say that you use the shampoo and conditioner, and then I guess the OI Milk is a leave in treament. I should get "remarkably sleek locks." Good luck with that one - my hair is curly and weird, and I usually look like Sideshow Bob when I wake up. But miracles happen.
Then I got an assortment of apparently unrelated products. First, there is a mascara by Benefit Cosmetics, called "They're Real!!". If I use this, I may be "accused of fakery." Wouldn't be the first time. Then, there is a sample atomizer of Catherine Malandrino Fragrance. This will go on vacation with me. Next, we have a one ounce tube of Perlier Shea Almond Body Cream. Sounds nice. I will save this to use after a pool session. Lastly, we have a tiny tube of Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum. Even though Caudalie is a respected luxury brand, the Polyphenol business sounds carcinogenic and scientifically scary (and I am a licensed scientist).
Remember how I told you that there is always an extra in every box? This month, it comes from Jet Blue. You answer the little quiz and then enter the contest to win a round trip travel certificate. This is as good as done. I enter a lot of contests, and I usually win something.
The last goodie I got today didn't come from Birchbox. It came from Doc Box. He got me a Pocket Hose Ultra. Yippee!!! I have one, and when I use it, I have to unscrew it from the front yard and then move it to the back yard. Now I have two!!! No mo' unscrew!!!!.
So that's it for the June Birchbox. I will let you know how the products worked out. I think that I have gone out and purchased 3 of the items that I got trial sizes for. I pretty much always like the items. But for example, how many mascaras do I need? Now I have another one to try, and I can't imagine myself needing to buy one in the next 3 years.
