Angels in the Sky

Well, I missed my usual Friday post. We had a two day work event, and since we had to wear jeans and a company logo T shirt, I have no outfits to show you. But I'll tell you a couple of things.

First of all, I ordered a sofa from Wayfair on September 9. They took my money and I have not heard from them or received my sofa. So I called on the 21st, and after 34 minutes on hold, they told me that someone would be calling back in a day or two. No such luck. After I got home on Thursday, I called them. It was now 9/28. After 1 hour and 22 minutes on hold, the customer service representative told me she would be researching my problem and would be calling me back the next day. No such luck. But I wisely asked for her name and extension. So I called her back.

CSR : This has never happened to any of our customers ever before.
ME : So that's why there are so many people calling that the hold time was 1 hour and 22 minutes.

CSR : I have deemed your sofa as lost.
ME: I heard the FBI is hiring. With those mad deductive skills, you should apply.

CSR : We are sending out a new one. It will be there by October 25.
ME : The delighted man in your commercials just snaps his fingers and his dining room set appears.
You did not call me back, like you PROMISED you would.

CSR: We were busy.
ME : Because no one ever has problems with their order but me? Or because there were donuts at the  office?

CSR: I take full responsibility. I want to earn your trust.
ME: You already blew it.

CSR: I promise I will call you on Monday with an update.
ME: If you don't , then I will call you and I will be even more irritated with  you.

So, we will see if I ever get my sofa. Probably not. Or maybe I will get two of them. I can tell you that I will be writing to this billion dollar company and will never buy anything from them again. It's supposed to be 2 day free shipping. 2 month free shipping is how it's going to end up.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM WAYFAIR. THEY ARE AWFUL.

So, after that, I went running in HB Central Park to try and shake off the bad mood.

The calm surroundings and the beautiful birds did the trick.

Also, Breitling is having an airshow here in Huntington Beach , and the Blue Angels have been rehearsing all week.

Check out the loop and the contrails. The picture below is four jets flying wing to wing.

This is hard to see - it's all four jets doing a death dive together. They are very loud.

Doc's herb garden is growing quickly. Last night, I made some bouquets. I needed to thin the bushes out a bit.

This is English lavender, rosemary, oregano,  and basil.

I tied them together with a ribbon and hung one from each bed post, so that when we are laying down, we can smell the lovely aroma.

For dinner, I made smoked sausage on hash browns, with sauteed onions and peppers. There is shredded cheese and sour cream on the top.
I served it with homemade sweet and sour red cabbage.

And that's all. The Wayfair problem is really bothering me. It doesn't help that they show a commercial every five minutes.

Tomorrow night, I am going to see Benise in Spanish Nights at the Cerritos Center for Performing Arts. My friend and I are wearing Spanish inspired costumes. So I will finally have something to show you. Until then, I will link this post anyway, so my blogger friends may get a hit or two.

What's Black and White and Red All Over ?

Remember this old joke? Well, today the answer is not the newspaper, it's me !! We will start with what I wore yesterday:

This is a black scuba dress with ivory Venice lace by Jax. I got it at Saks.

I haven't worn these Leopoldo Giordano sandals in a long time, but they do match perfectly.

Both necklaces were my mom's. The lacy medallion has an interchangeable center - the other one is lapis.

On my right arm, an amethyst ring, a diamond tennis bracelet and a silver bracelet.

On my left arm, an Italian silver bracelet, a sapphire/diamond band, and a white gold solitaire. Most of these pieces on my arms were also my mom's.

Today, a much more casual look. This jersey knit dress is by Ivanka Trump.

It has a draped detail with a gold zipper on the right shoulder. The necklace is costume.

On my right arm, my CDC and a ruby cocktail ring.

On my left arm, a tricolor gold bracelet and my yellow gold wedding set.

Business As Usual

I was once again very busy on Friday and actually didn't have much to say, so today you get two work outfits. This is what I wore on Friday:

This is a Carmen Marc Volvo top and an ABS Allen Schwartz pull on skirt. The top is actually very dark brown - you can't tell until you hold it up next to a black item. The giraffe skirt is black, brown, olive and ivory, so it goes with everything.

You can see the big old studs on the top here. I got this top in Philadelphia.

My KJL costume seashell with crystals on a gold neck wire seemed like a good choice.

On my left arm, my CDC.

On my right arm, a black/clear diamond ring in rose gold, and two gold bracelets - on is white/rose gold, and the other is tri-color gold.

Today, I decided to go the easy suit route. This is a Kasper ASL suit.

The silk camisole is from Nine West, and the cord belt is vintage.

My necklace is just a bauble that I picked up at Hobby Lobby because I thought it was pretty.

On my left arm, the same two bracelets as I wore on Friday, but with a wedding set in yellow gold.

On my right arm, another gold bracelet and a smoky topaz / diamond ring.

The Trifecta

I had to make an appointment yesterday, so no time to blog. The good thing about that is that today you get to see three outfits !! First, Tuesday's getup :

One of my Antthony Designs pants sets. I got so many compliments on this, and it is one of the most comfortable things I own !! I got 4 of them in different designs last year when I was taking care of my mom right before her death (for the easy care) and I am so glad I did that.

Sadly, my Coldwater Creek pewter belt is looking less than spiffy. I'll have to try and polish it up a bit and see what happens.

I wore my purple Austrian crystal necklace.

On my right arm, a tanzanite tennis bracelet and an opal/amethyst ring.

On my left arm, another opal/amethyst ring and two more Austrian crystal bracelets.

Yesterday, I wore a very neglected Apt 9 shift dress.

It's very loose and has a sort of bubble shape to it.

On top, a vintage jacket from Bullock's Wilshire Pasadena. A very old, very tony store that is no longer in business.

The dress has a bow at the empire seam that is deep royal satin. A very cute touch.

Likewise, the jacket has satin buttons, collar, and button vents.

I wore a smaller Austrian crystal necklace that I got as a gift one Christmas.

On my left arm, white gold wedding rings, a diamond tennis bracelet and a sapphire tennis bracelet.

On my right arm, my mom's engagement ring ans a sapphire/diamond band.

Today, a Calvin Klein number. I described the color to my coworkers as "filing cabinet beige".

It has a black yoke with studs. I wore my buffalo turquoise and smoky topaz statement necklace.

On my left arm, a leopard jasper ring and my Swarovksi Infinity bracelet.

On my right arm, a Brighton bracelet and a hematite ring.
