Great Minds Think Alike

You will see where this is going soon, my friends. But first, what did I do yesterday? Well, before the Clipper game started (boo, they lost), I had a couple of things to do. I generally have to force myself to take a day off from working out, and yesterday was the day. Also, I generally like to buy one or two new things to take along when I go on a trip (which I will be doing in a couple of weeks). So I went to downtown Huntington Beach. When I was shopping a week or so ago, I saw a pair of espadrilles that I wanted to get for the trip, but they didn't have my size. Since they were at Forever 21, I decided to go to the one in downtown HB. This way, I could also take a little walk.

As you can see, it was a nice day, maybe a little breezy. It was also weird to see the streets so deserted. I guess the combo of a weekday right after Cinco de Mayo means the bars and restaurants are empty. Here is the street with the shop - it's usually pretty jammed.

Anyway, they had them in my size. Voila.

They sure look like they will be comfy. We shall see, and I will let you know. Patti from Not Dead Yet Style is looking for comfy shoes for her upcoming trip, so I will do some "research" for her.

Then I came home and wrapped Mother's Day gifts for my mom and Mimi, my MIL. I already showed you what I got them. Here are my mom's shoes, all wrapped up in a reusable box.

Here's Mimi's dry erase board and accessories, all gussied up.

Now I just need greeting cards. Then I hunkered down to watch the game. I am mad at Austin Rivers - as one of the sportscasters says, "He went for the hotdog, but the mustard slipped off!!!" So we lost. Then the doorbell rang. I looked through the glass part of the door and saw a Fed Ex truck. Oh YAY!!! The other thing I wanted for my trip is a new bag, so I ordered one from Neiman Marcus.

It's teal suede with gold trim. It came with a dust bag. Here's a closer look.

Now this relates to the title of the post. One of my links, Tara from www.mixmatchfashion.com is hosting What I Wore to Work, and she is wearing teal and floral. But not only am I carrying my new teal bag, here's what I am wearing today.

More teal!!! This time, it's a velvet blazer by Daisy Fuentes. Here's a better look at it.

It's super old, but I don't wear it very often, so it has lasted. And as far as the floral goes, look at me without my jacket.

My same old, same old black slacks, with a nice thick sweater vest from Karen Kane. It was part of the haul that I got about 10 years ago at the Karen Kane outlet up in Napa. One more close up look at the floral embellishment.

With this outfit, I wore my sapphire parure - matching necklace, ring and earrings.

And on my left hand, the ring, along with three sapphire bracelets.

On my right hand, just one sapphire and diamond ring.

But there's one more item that relates to my great mind being like another great mind. My favorite Thursday link is with Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com for Throwback Thursday. She just went to Disneyland, and my upcoming trip is to Disney World in Florida for a conference. I was going to go to Atlanta beforehand with my sister, but she fell on her ranch and injured her shoulder. She broke it a couple of years ago, when she fell off her horse. So that leg was cancelled. (Luckily, my next conference in October is in ....... Atlanta!!!, so I will eventually get there).

So have a great Thursday, and I will see you tomorrow!!!!
