Stormy Sunday

We finally had some significant rain this weekend here in So Cal. It rained pretty much all  Sunday, both day and night. The boys looked like they would need some extra sustenance:

I bought a gallon of milk to make Thanksgiving dishes with, and then my DIL wanted to make one of them, so I have extra milk. Enjoy, Kenni and Vinni !!!

When I got to work, a huge tree had been uprooted by the rain and fell over the walkway. Luckily, no one was walking by and the building wasn't damaged.

Yesterday, I made wedge salads for me and Doc. I got Gordon Ramsay's dressing recipe from the internet.

When we had them in Las Vegas last month, we noticed that the lettuce sat in a pool of dressing.

I put the wedges of iceberg on top of the dressing.

Then, I added black and green olives around the sides.

Here are the rest of the ingredients - tomato, crumbled bacon, chopped hard cooked egg, and crumbled blue cheese. The dressing has mayo, dijon, yogurt, milk, pepper and blue cheese.

Here is mine - Doc doesn't eat tomato.

As a final touch, Gordon put some vinagrette under the toppings. It really made a difference. By the way, these were delicious.

This weekend, our grandson Preston had a leading role in the Mission Crest Elementary production of Peter Pan.

The audience gathered, and enjoyed nachos and popcorn before the play.

There were 4 set changes during the play. At each one, two students dressed as Peter Pan's shadow did tumbling passes and two other students told jokes.

Preston's role came toward the end of the play. He fought Captain Hook with a sword and made him walk the plank.

Ashley, his mom, helped the mermaids with their makeup.

Nana the dog had some pretty impressive makeup, too.

At the end, the entire cast took a bow.

They rotated through four Peter Pans - here they all are together.

And Tinkerbell was just as cute as my favorite Peter Pan.

Back to work for two days, and then a nice vacation for the holiday. Here is what I wore today:

All holiday and elfy. This maroon lace shift came from some thrift store at some point in my life. I also had the matching tights and my Chinese Laundry ankle boots.

Once again, I wore my white House Black Market belt as a necklace. It hasn't seen action as a belt yet. I combined it with my JCP Iron Cross necklace.

On my right arm, a costume medieval style ring and a thin leather bracelet.

On my left arm, a leather/crystal cuff and a sterling/hematite ring.
