Inspecting, Not Expecting!!!

I didn't post yesterday because I was part of an internal team that conducted an inspection of our hospital in preparation for the government to come later this year. I was designated to cover the OR, the ED, and Interventional Radiology (IR). As a result, I spent most of the day in OR scrubs. So I wore a very casual outfit to work before I changed.

This is just a pair of Champion yoga pants and a Custo Barcelona tunic that I got at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Custo Barcelona can cost a little bit of money, but the prints are so detailed and colorful. Here are two closeups of the print.

The royal blue and dark green part is hard to see, even in person. I wore my self made lapis necklace.

Today, I am back to "Normal". Behold.

I am wearing a Weekend Traffic dress and a Mossimo linen jacket. Weekend Traffic is a local brand, manufactured in Irvine, Ca, which is about 10 miles down the road from Huntington Beach.

It has a print of Chinese characters with various opium bottles scattered on top. I wore a mustard suede belt for some contrast.

I chose my weird green resin necklace. It's one of my favorite costume pieces.

On my right arm, my new beaded/crystal bracelet from Saks and my Montana green peridot ring.

On my left arm, two small gold bracelets, and my Nordstrom green creepy ring.

And you know that I would never pass up an opportunity to wear my green witch shoes !!!

Now that I am all caught up, let's link!!! It's Thursday, so that means Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday. And I missed Wednesday, which means Tameka from www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com is hosting Who's Wearing What Wednesdays, but I will back track to her cute blog. And lastly, Grace and www.colorandgrace.com is having Color and Grace. Have a great day!!

It's All in Black and White

Without further ado!!!

I am wearing an outfit that I copied from a beautiful girl that I saw one day when I was having lunch at Sunset Plaza up in LA. I recognized the dress as the same one that I had from Bebe. Underneath, I have a white sleeveless knit dress from Victoria's Secret. I chose my Versace belt, because the Bebe dress has gold buttons.

The pockets, collar, hem and button panel are all satin. I wore my Joan Rivers convertible charm necklace, this time with the gold neck ring.

I also picked my black and white Guess maryjanes to go with this cute outfit.

On my right hand, I have a stretchy crystal bracelet and an enamel/crystal ring, both from Saks.

On my left hand, a stretchy plastic bracelet and a black and white enamel ring from Banana Republic in Baltimore.

I even got out a black and gold purse.

And that's about it, except for the flower of the week, brought by one  of my friends.

Onto the links!!!It just so happens that Laura from www.walkinginmemphisinhighheels.com is having Trend Spin Linkup, and today's theme is Black and White. Perfection. Then, Jess from www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com has Turning Heads Tuesday. Last, Kileen from www.cuteandlittle.com has On Trend Tuesday.

Facing the Weekend!!!

We'll get to the meaning of this in a few. First, On Friday night, I touched my hair color up, so I no longer have a black and grey stripe running down the middle. Yay!! Also, I got a new toy that I will show you in a minute.

On Saturday morning, I went to Boot Camp with my Good Life Champions club. It was a 2 hour class, and you could stay for one or both sessions. There were 5 of us for the first hour, and then only 2, me and Tammy, for the second hour. It was a lot of strength building and core work, and I am surprised that I'm not sore. Then we went out for a well deserved lunch.

We went to Jersey Mike's, where Doc had a giant Philly cheesesteak, and I had a sandwich in a tub, which makes it a salad. Then we went down to visit my mom, who is feeling much better after the injection in her knee a couple of weeks ago. This is what I wore:

I wore Old Navy shorts and a Style and Co top. The shorts are tan with a white pattern, and the top is tan knit with a metallic foil design on the front and flutter sleeves.

I wore an ethnic/tribal style necklace and my Forever 21 tan sandals with the gold studs.

Then we came home and I used my new toy, the Personal Pedi. I have a bad case of runner's feet - callouses and cracks and bumps. So I used this thing for an hour, and it filed down all the ugliness.

It's really gentle. Here's a before and an after of my heel, where it looked the worst.

It's a big difference. Maybe if I use it once a week, I can maintain the soft and smooth appearance.

Then I just read a fascinating book about a teenager who chooses to stop his mental suffering in the worst way.

The topic is not for everyone, but I couldn't put it down until I found out how it ended.

On Sunday, I went for a walk in the morning, then got ready to go to a facial party that my friend Cheryl was having. Here's what I wore to that:

It's a vintage chiffon floral sundress. I wore my Style and Co thong wedges with it.

Elli wanted to go also, but since her face is covered in fur, she stayed behind to wait for me.

The party was at Randi's house in Laguna Niguel. Here are my friends walking in.

Randi has the cutest dog. She reminded me soooo much of my darling Delila (RIP).

                                                                 This is Randi's dog.

This is Delila. See what I mean ?

The party was for Arbonne Vegan certified face products. They were nice, and I bought a few things.
We had mimosas and muffins, then went to In and Out on the way back to Elesha's house.

I can't wait for them to arrive. So that's how I faced the weekend. Today, it's back to work.

I am wearing a silk paisley dress by Express, with a linen and rayon safari jacket by Yansi Fugel on top. Here's the dress.

I wore a blue and green necklace that I had to fix a little bit before I could wear it.

On my right arm, a turquoise cuff and a blue topaz ring.

On the left, another turquoise cuff and a turquoise/MOP ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston got me.

I wore my Carlos Santana gladiator sandals.

So that's about it for now. I have a pretty busy schedule this week at work, and then some more fun, like the county fair, a concert, and another party, next weekend. And on August 8, there will be a joint Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party for Joseph and Benjy at the local water park.

Two links today. First, Rachelle at www.pinksole.com for How I Summer, then Cherie at www.stylenudge.com for Shoe and Tell. Have a great day!!!

Finally Friday !!!

Let's hope it's not too freaky. For a slew of meetings today, I decided to wear something comfy and fuss free - my DS Dresses DNA dress from Neiman Marcus.

I last wore this dress on June 30th, immediately after it came in the mail. This time around, I changed up the shoes and necklace. For today, I went with my Leopoldo Giordano butterfly shoes.

Instead of the white doohickey necklace, I wore an agate one.

On my right arm, my silver/crystal costume bracelet, and a marcasite ring that was a gift from Luke, Ashley, and Preston.

On my left arm, a wedding set and an Anne Klein white enamel watch.

On Wednesday night, Doc and I were invited for dinner to Kim, Nathan, Joseph, Benjamin, and Calista's house. Kim made fried chicken, salad, green beans, fruit salad and banana bread. It was all delicious. We had ordered some AAA realistic replica animals for the kids to play with. They were a huge hit. After dinner, we made an animal parade with all of them.

Benjy was all ready for a scooter ride after the parade. My favorite was the Okapi, Joseph's was the iguana, and Benjy's was the Staffordshire terrier. We also had them ride to school in the school bus.

So let's do our Friday linking!!! First, Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. Then, Christie from www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Favorites. And then, Lauren from www.stylelixir.com has Fab Fridays. Have a great day, and visit some great blogs, too!!!
