Showers Are Predicted

I went to a baby shower for my niece Brittany, who is having her first baby, a boy. She is due March 31. So I got her a nice gift:

I got her a pair of flannel back satin pajamas. They button down the front, and have a drawstring waist. I also got her a pair of cashmere socks. Here is a closeup  of the blue floral print with scalloping on the top and pant hems.

My MIL, Mimi, asked me if I would give Brittany a pair of gold earrings that she had given me years ago. They belonged to her great grandmother. They are Mexican gold and are in an antique, battered case. Of course, I agreed that Brittany and any girls she may have should have them.

Here are the gifts all wrapped up in paper I got at The Dollar Tree.

Here's a better look at the ribbon. It says ,"It's A Boy!!!".

And what did I wear to this lovely luncheon? A pair of gold silk slacks made by Amanda Smith, my new Catherine Malandrino tunic sweater, and a vintage gold belt.

Here's a closeup of the lurex on the sweater and my snazzy 60s hip belt.

I wore my Sole Society pale beige sandals with the gold studs.

I chose a teardrop necklace in chocolate and white diamonds for a bit of contrast. On my right, my enamel/crystal ring and three RJ Graziano rose gold bangles. On my left, my wedding set, and a costume crystal stretch bracelet from Saks.

I will leave you with some pix of my SIL's turtle. I think his name is Arthur. He has extremely poor vision. I held out some lettuce for him, and he saw the green and started crawling towards me. But he was off target to the side, and his mouth was wide open with a few huge snaggly teeth.

He had just finished eating something red and juicy, because it was all over his face.

Arthur weighs 100 pounds. He is huge, almost rideable size. When he eats, he slowly and consistently MOWS through the food.

He is a good turtle and a pretty turtle. If you leave the sliding door open, he comes in the house and knocks stuff over. He knocked a lamp off of the white baby grand piano. His poo is huge. I like Arthur.

Well, tomorrow is Sunday, the day of rest. I'll see you all back at the ranch on Monday!!!
