Flying the Friendly Skies!!!

Well, tomorrow I am off to Washington DC for the rest of the week. I will arrive home in time to dress up like a spider to scare my grandkids on Halloween. I will be missing Doc's birthday, but we are going to take a mini-vacation to Laguna Beach in a couple of weeks to celebrate, and I also have some surprises in store for him while I'm gone.

So let's recap the weekend. I probably won't post again until Friday at the earliest. Anyway, I got two lovely surprises from Doc on Friday. He was showing me how proud he was of my recent workplace achievements. And the best way to show this would be......

Sparklies!!!! The top ring is sapphire and diamond, and the bottom one is lab-created black diamond and regular diamond. I liked the sides of the ring. That was a very nice surprise.

So on Saturday, we decided to make the kid's Halloween baskets. First, we went to Phuket Thai for lunch.

We shared Pad Thai and teriyaki chicken.

Then, with full bellies, we bought just a few little things for the grand kids.

That just might be enough (!). Here's the lowdown. For Preston, age 6 :

A Beware of Zombies sign, a pumpkin carving kit, a medieval lance, a Freddy Kruger glove, a scary door knocker, some stickers, some tattoos, a rubber cobra, and some cups. Here it is, assembled.

For brothers Joseph (5) and Benjamin (3), the exact same items in their buckets, so no arguing.

They got armor chest plates, a lance, a pumpkin carving kit, a cobra, some stickers, and a bunch of rubber worms and centipedes and little snakes. For Calista (1.5 years) , a more girly themed bucket.

Bride and Groom mice, a toy cat, a hanging cat decoration, a bee headband, and some cups. Here it is, all assembled.

And for me, well this just about says it all:

It's hanging on my office door. Then we took Elli for a badly needed pedi-pedi.

If her legs were bigger than pencils, she could do some damage with those things. But she's all pretty now.

Later that night, our friends Elesha and Omri had their Halloween party. Omri is Israeli, and a vegan. He made a lot of delicious vegan food. The favorite were pigs in a blanket, only he used carrots instead of hot dogs.

They had a spooky tablescape going on also. So what did I dress up as ????

Why, I did my best Rastafarian imitation!!!! Here's a closeup of my head, in my dreadlocked wig, soul patch, and silver sunglasses.

My visor was custom made by me, as well.

A wonderful time was had by all. Here's some evidence:

Doc's associate, Dr T, was a vampire. I borrowed his glow in the dark fangs.

Sunday was spent gardening and packing. Once again, I may have a stowaway situation going on:

What else is new? But I may be able to convince her to stay home and keep Doc company.

So what am I wearing today, after all this fun activity? My Rachel Roy skater style dress:

It's blue down to the last four inches or so of the skirt, and then it's black.

I wore my favorite INC tassel necklace with it.

And I busted out my new BCBG boots from Saks:

Of course, I had to wear my new goodies!! On my right arm, the black diamond ring, along with two gold and sapphire bracelets:

On my left, another sapphire bracelet, and the sapphire ring:

I'll leave you with a big bouquet of fall cabbage roses from my backyard:

I decorated them with milkweed, for a little something different:

See you all later!!!! Have a good week!!!
