Since Doc has started his cooking career, he really wanted to roast his first turkey. We had some coupons for Grocery Outlet, so our 16-pound turkey cost $8.00. We made sides as well:
Steamed veggies - yellow squash and carrots.
Stuffing - from a mix.
Turkey gravy with giblets.
From the leftovers, we made a delicious turkey tetrazzini:
We also made about 5 packets of turkey meat that we put in the freezer for later.
We had our actual Thanksgiving Day with Win and Mimi. We made all the food. Doc made pineapple upside down cake:

I made a memorial for Kenni. It has the dress he wore every time we went on a walk. On the top left is his last collar along with his baby collar. There are three photographs held by clothespins. I'll probably end up with only one picture eventually.
We got a miniature Alberta Pine for our Christmas Tree this year.
She was quickly decorated and named Alberta. She will be potted and put by the She Shed after Christmas.
On Black Friday we went to Bob's Discount Furniture. I have liked both pieces that I have gotten from their store. We picked out two theater chairs.
They recline all the way and have cup holders and storage in the arm rests.

Pandi sleeps almost exclusively in her Hungarian baby basket that we got in our neighborhood garage sale.
On Saturday, December 3rd, we met one of Doc's friends, Tara, and her husband Paul at Pacific City in Huntington Beach.
They have a huge Christmas tree. Very classically decorated.
December 10th is Daniel's 30th birthday, so we had a little shindig for him.
Doc made another of his famous pineapple upside down cakes.
I got him a product from Nathan's line, Holtzman Gorilla Survival. It has four pieces - a multi-tool pliers, a Swiss-style knife, a folding knife, and a logo case.
I got my Ipsy bag. I didn't get my November Birchbox, and the website says that there will be an 8-10 day waiting period for an answer. Seems questionable. Anyway, from top to bottom:
1) Nanette Lepore Everlasting fragrance. I used it today. It's a big sample. Really nice scent.
2) First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream.
3) MILK Mascara.
4) R+Co Balloon Dry Volume Spray
5) On top, a flat blush brush by Oh miss Glam - it looks like a unicorn horn.
So let's go way back and look at my daily outfits. On November 21st, I wore one of my favorite blouses from Bisou Bisou. But the silk dress I wore underneath was a nightmare.
The lining had apparently shrunken, and it was all clumpy and wrinkled. It would probably be okay if I removed the lining, but I was so annoyed by it that I immediately threw it in the donate bag.
November 22nd was much better. I wore a snow leopard print dress from Kate Spade.
On top, I wore a silver lurex cardigan from Style and Co and Ivanka Trump booties.
On November 28th I met a friend for lunch. I haven't seen her in about 7 years. It was nice to see that she is doing well. It was drizzly that day and the restaurant was a Mexican patio / bar type place. I wanted to be warm, so I wore black Reebok slacks, a burnt orange wool sweater from H&M, and a cashmere jacket from Fendi.
On Tuesday, November 29th., the surveyors from JCAHO showed up for our triennial survey. It just so happens that after lunch with my friend, I decided to stop by a nice consignment store in the same area. They had a one-dollar sale. I got eight items. Three of them are worn in this outfit.
The beautiful black Ron Leal Canada suit counted as two pieces. I wore a purple silk blouse from Theory underneath. It has gold stitching.
This gabardine suit has bold zipper trim on the legs, the cuffs, and the jacket front.
The next day, November 30th, I wore Pixie pants from Old Navy, a Nine West sweater, and a vintage polyester blouse with ruffles.
The ruffles are on the cuffs and the neck. Here's a look at the gold beading. My necklace is Givenchy. It was a striking monotone outfit.
On December 1st, I wore Express Editor slacks in gray with lighter gray pinstripes, and a boucle sweater with blue sequins and a chiffon ruffle.
This outfit got a lot of compliments.
To meet our friends at Pacific City, I wore another piece from the Helping Hangar sale. It was a dense net long sleeve top with a chiffon underlay. You can't see it, but it is nice. No label inside.
I wore it with brown split ankle bootcut leggings and a sweater poncho from Worthington, a JC Penney brand.
On Monday December 5th, a different style of pants by Old Navy. They are brown cotton sateen straight leg slacks. On top, a brocade blazer from wdny. It has an oriental theme in many brown and orange tones.
Underneath, I wore a vintage copper lurex turtleneck with nice sequin detailing. It's very luxe.
On Tuesday, December 6th, I wore black velvet jeans from Faconnable with one off those ruffly polyester pirate blouses with lace and beads. On top, a brocade waiter's jacket from Old Navy, in ivory and gold.
The mix of textures was really apparent in person, and it looked great. I got my blood drawn that day. No results yet.
That night, Doc, Mimi and I all went to the HB Downtown Street Fair. It was freezing. We ate at Avila's El Ranchito and then walked for about fifteen minutes. I got Mimi a hot chocolate and we watched all the gorgeous dog breeds play with each other and enjoy the crisp air. They have a skating rink for Christmas. I wish I had taken some pictures.
On Wednesday, December 7th, I wore Ponte slacks from Express with a thin ivory wool sweater from Anthology. On top, I wore a black blazer with ivory pinstripes from Kasper.
My belt is Escada, and the cool costume necklace is INC.
Yesterday, Daniel and I had lunch with the data submissions team at Shared Services. We ordered Corner Bakery and ate on their patio. It was nice to get to know people that you have only met virtually.
I decided to wear one of my many beautiful Christmas dresses, this one from JS Collection. It has teal Venice embroidery over a black netting sheath. It has the classic wiggle dress shape - princess seamed, low V neck in back.
I wore my Tahari boots, an Ann Taylor belt and emerald and diamond jewelry.
Today, I was off from work. I wore Levi's jeans and an Apt 9 sweater to deliver Daniel's cake and then go Christmas shopping.
Doc got a gingerbread house kit at Grocery Outlet for $6.99 Stay tuned to see the finished product.
So that's about all for now, but Christmas fun has just begun! I have two parties next week to look forward to. Maybe something else exciting will come up. Enjoy the weekend - it's been raining a lot here and is supposed to start again tomorrow. We have two more days together until I go back to work.
