They Call Me Mellow Yellow

Yes, you are right, Donovan !!!! Electric Banana will be all the craze (It's from the lyrics). I am about half yellow, so I won't have to go full-on mellow, which is just not my bag. I like a little excitement. When I pulled this dress out of summer storage last night, my first thought was "Where is my hot pink cardigan?" So I went a-hunting in my cavernous closet. I didn't see the pink sweater, but I did see this bright gold one, and remembered that I got a lot of compliments when I wore it last year. And the print on the dress has every color imaginable, so when I hung them together on my dress form, it was a Voila !!! moment. Et Voila!!!

This silk dress is made by Bloomingdales. I got it in a consignment shop in Denver. It's fully lined with hot pink silk, and has the little luxury details like snap things to hold your bra straps( it has a tank top) and a little covered button to keep the zipper up. But lest you think I am all elegance and grace, notice the white spot on one of my knees. That is a blob of white nail polish that I used to keep the run in my hose from going all the way down. I get my hose from Silkies through the mail, and even though I love the quality, they do cost about $8 a pair, so I try to maximize the wearings. So if there's a fixible and not too noticeable flaw, they get used one last time. And the time for these is now. So what shoes did I select to continue the burst of color?

These babies. I love these shoes- they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Here's the kicker - I got them at Old Navy about 5 years ago. I also had a blue pair, but they disintegrated a while back. I had plantar fasciits 3 years ago, and these two pairs of sandals were the only shoes that kept the pressure off my heel until it healed. Now for the necklace - let's morph from the color theme to a floral theme.

Little ivory pin-wheely daisies!!! I got this necklace in a batch that I bought from EBay. It was very inexpensive, as I recall. But it adds a perfect contrast here. You can also get a better look at the print on the dress, and the pretty pointelle details on the wrap sweater. Since the sweater has nice long bell sleeves, I didn't wear bracelets today. That's right - Rosie with no bracelets!!! That doesn't happen often. But I did break out another little floral gem :

This little pink crystal ring is a costume piece of unknown origin. And on the other hand, another fakey (that I like a lot).

So that's it. All colorful and comfy. And today, I am linking up with Patti at www.notdeadyetstyle.blogspot.com. Patti hosts Visible Mondays, where 40+ aged bloggers can link up and show something that makes them feel fabulous. And with all this brightness, if I am anything today, it's visible. Thanks Patti !!!
