Baseball, Birthdays, and Good Ol' Dad

I usually just kick back on the weekend and relax. But not last weekend !! On Friday June 18th, a whole bunch of us from the hospital were invited to go the Los Angeles Angels baseball game.

We all got Mike Trout bobble head dolls.

As you can see, it was a full house. We sat on Field Level.

The worthy opponents were the Detroit Tigers.

This year is the 60th anniversary of the club.

A great time was had by all.

The next day, June 19th, was our grandson Preston's 12th birthday. A giant party was held at Bolsa Chica State Beach - it's between Huntington Beach and Sunset Beach.

We had a full range of food - sandwiches, hot dogs, chips and cookies, and smores.

There were a few games when the kids weren't boogie boarding or surfing. This was a pudding feeding contest - you had to feed pudding to your partner.

There was also a contest where you see how many marshmallows you can stuff in your mouth. I spared you from seeing those pictures.

Preston had his favorite cake - the Tuxedo cake from Costco.

This is Great Grandma Mimi, Grandpa Doc, Grannie Rosie, and our Preston.

I went for a stroll ( so I could people watch) and saw this:

It's called Sea Legs at the Beach.

They have live music, and a snack bar.

You can reserve either a table or a fire pit.

I must go here sometime in the future and enjoy the music.

Pandi celebrated at home in her own way. She had trouble with her party hat.

The next day was Father's Day and the other set of grandkids came over to see Doc.

Benjamin made this pop-up card for Doc.

He also helped check the apple pie I made for poison.

On Saturday, I went for my usual run around Central Park. I saw my spirit bird, the snowy egret.

His yellow legs are the coolest.

Then I saw a tree that looked like it was made up of cormorants

The flying pencil.

The Canadians were swimming across the lake toward the path that they like to block.

It's near a picnic area, so I guess that the people, leftovers, and trash are just irresistible to our friends from the frozen north.

Remember the flower bombs that I planted mid-April ? They are now blooming away.

These are called bachelor's buttons. We will have to wait to see what blooms next.

I got my June Ipsy bag. It had a "Have Fun" theme.

There were two masks included - They are from the Creme Shop and are the Essence Infused Sheet Mask Duo in Rose Water and B12 complex.

Also included from left to right:

1) Seraphine Botanicals Pink Guava Primer + Illuminating Primer

2) Tarte Lash Paint Mascara

3) Pure Brazilian Hair Soothing Balm

4) MAZI Balancing Multi- Effect Facial Cleanser

And finally, a look at my newly refreshed porch - ready for summer!!!

So let's get back to what I wore these last couple of weeks.

On June 14th, we were starting a heat wave. It doesn't affect us much at the beach, but in places like Phoenix, Arizona, it got up to 117 degrees. It was mid-70s here at the water.

I wore a silk dress that I got many years ago in Denver.

I wore this satin blazer over it, but only in the air-conditioned office. I didn't think that it was flattering, but everyone who saw me complimented the color.

On June 16th, I wore a dress that I got at a neighbor's garage sale for $1. Of course I had to tell everyone that.

It had a weird fit that was coincidentally perfect for my shape - small waist and huge arm holes.

On June 17th, I went for comfort because I had to creep around the OR. I wore brown slinky slacks with a top from INC that was made of the same type of fabric.

My Paloma Picasso belt and my old weird green resin necklace were perfect.

On June 18th, before the Angel game, I wore one of my favorite dresses to work. It came from Macy's in Fort Lauderdale, and it's made by Bar III.

My Gucci sandals and some gold/sapphire jewelry completed the look.

On Monday, June 21st, after an action packed weekend, I wore this comfy mesh dress by No Boundaries.

It allowed me to wear a bunch of my beautiful turquoise jewelry that Doc has given me over the years.

On Tuesday, June 22nd, I wore some ivory wool slacks from the Italian brand Zanella. On top, another mesh item - this time, a long sleeved T shirt with butterflies all over it.

On top, a butter yellow jacket from Talbot's.

On Wednesday, I wore a dress by Calvin Klein. It's a matelasse double knit in a brilliant pinkish-orange color.

My scarf is actually a sarong that went over a matching bikini. The swim suit has long since died. It's from La Blanca. They make nice swim suits.

On Thursday, another comfy, easy outfit. This bright green pirate style dress is from Nine West.

My suede Mary Janes are also from Nine West - that was a coincidence. My pearlized gold belt is from Calvin Klein.

Finally, on Friday, my last day at the hospital for a while. More on that later. This day, I wore another slinky dress from ASG. It's an A line shape with three gold rings at the neckline.

On top, I wore this weird jacket that I got up in Little Korea in Garden Grove, California. I have a rental condo up there and I sometimes go down the street and look in the boutiques while I am visiting my tenant.

My black and gold Escada belt and my Style and Co elastic sandals were perfect for this outfit.

So that's about it. But why am I not working for the next three weeks? Well, we are getting our floors redone in our house. They are white oak and are 70 years old. I will keep you informed during the entire process and even though there probably won't be too may outfits to show over this time, you never know.

Stay tuned !!!
