PSF 2018

One of the duties that comes along with my position at the hospital is to conduct the annual Patient Safety Fair. I get a whole bunch of volunteers from different disciplines and they each do a booth - preventing patient falls, blood transfusions, pressure ulcers, antimicrobial stewardship, etc. That takes a lot of work, and I am always relieved when its over. It was Thursday, and the theme was Mardi Gras. My costume is always a highlight. This year, I went as Gator Gal.

I bit a lot of people.

I also had green tights and shoes. As you may have guessed, I was pretty uncomfortable.

The day before was better. I wore a silk appliqued skirt by Studio G and a plain black rib knit sweater from the Gap. I also wore my plastic waterfall necklace.

On Friday, I wore this:

When I went to Goodwill to get the green shoes, I saw this dress, all wrinkly and sad. It was $5 and it was some type of polyester knit with no holes or stains. So I washed it, ironed it, and voila!!

Everyone liked it and I got a ton of compliments. I topped it with my heavy knit warmup jacket from Bloomingdales.

I wore a thick costume necklace from Stein Mart.

And I added a very ancient navy blue leather belt with a gold buckle.

On my left arm, a London Blue topaz ring and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.

On my right arm, one of my mom's diamond rings, and a gold/diamond dust bracelet.

Well, that's about it - not too interesting, but very busy. I did spend the first half of the week recovering from my respiratory illness. I didn't eat much of anything for about three days, but I have spent the last four days plowing through all kinds of food, and now I am at my same old weight that I have been for years. If I get too much thinner, it shows in my face first and I look like a cadaver. Not a good look, and I want my clothes to fit well, especially since I have a lot of them.
