March Madness Holtzman Style

Everyone got visitors this month! We'll start with Miss Jacki Brown.

Her boyfriend Peanut came by to visit and play. They hadn't been together for quite some time, since Jacki is getting close to her first heat. Her mama had three litters of twelve puppies, so most likely that is how many Jacki would have. And we don't want twelve funny looking puppies to find homes for, so a chaperone is mandatory. I captured the first kiss.

Peanut is a chocolate Doberman Pinscher. He has green eyes like Jacki. He is beautiful.

They roughhoused and played for an hour. As soon as I opened the gate to take Peanut home, he sped by and ran as fast as he could to his house. It's only two doors away, so it took less than ten seconds. I believe he was traumatized.

Doc and I also had visitors - Nate, Kim, Joseph, Benjy and Calista came over from Arizona to visit during the kids' school break. I took the opportunity to make them some Easter baskets.

Here are the goods - Pandi had to give her approval, of course.

For Mimi- an Easter door sign, some Bath and Body Works hand soap for the kitchen, and a Garnier Clearly Brighter Anti-Puff Eye Roller. This is another product that actually works very well.

All packed up in a spring themed bag!

Then for Joseph, Benjy and Preston:

Some of their favorites - Silly String, wooden model car, Cookies and Creme bunny, a tub of slime, and lots of other little toys and a bit of candy.

For Calista - bunny ears, a book from the Carpinteria library, a plaster bunny to paint and some candy.

The plastic eggs had varying amounts of cash inside, including one with a 50-cent piece. The kids took turns drawing them from a bucket, and Joseph got the 50 cents. We saved six for Preston.

Pandi came with us on Monday, March 11th while our housekeeper was over. The kids always like to see her.

On Thursday, March 14th, we all got together again to give out the baskets and have a lunch of KFC.

Digging deep!

After lunch, we came back and got Jacki. We took her to Palos Verdes Park, which is about a block away from Win and Mimi's house.

The kids loved playing with our giant chocolate lab puppy! It was very windy that day!!

She got thirsty, so Kim gave her a drink from her water bottle.

Everyone had a great time - we will be going out to Arizona to see them in May, after it gets a little greener there, but before it gets too hot.

I got my March Birchbox. Inside, from top to bottom:

1) Doctor Rogers Restore Body Wash and Lotion

2) Foreo Imagination Starter Kit - this kit gives you the base ingredients and then you add your own recipe to make a facial mask - I think this is a great idea!

3) Skin Fix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream

4) Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes Mascara

5) Starskin VIP The Gold Eye Mask

I also got my Ipsy bag for March. Inside, from top to bottom:

1) Ofra Cosmetics Lipgloss in Blissful

2) People's Beauty Frontliner Mask and Scrub

3) Koyal Beauty Gentle Gel Face Wash

4) DERMAFIRM Soothing Repair Toning Serum

5) Pinky B Beauty Dat Gel Eyeliner Tho in Style

Now for some outfits !

On February 27th, we went to Costco with Win and Mimi. This is what I wore:

Yoga pants from Fila, a black/white turtleneck from Old Navy, and a knit jacket from Damon's and Draper's, an upscale casual wear company that is sadly out of business.

My shoes are from Temu and my purse is Yves Saint Laurent. The magic color was red.

On March 1st, I went to get my Botox touched up. I wore white slacks from Katayone, an Old Navy tank top, and a knit jacket from Bloomingdales. I will go back for IPL laser on my sunspots at the end of this month.

On March 4th, we went to the tax preparation office to sign and submit our returns. We are getting a bit of money back, so we are going to get a new TV for the bedroom and some storage racks for the garage. I wore black slacks, an ivory top and belt from White House Black Market and the boots I got in Carpinteria. It was raining, so I wore my Louis Vuitton cashmere wrap.

I put this sign on the TV to remind me that the Bachelor is on Monday night. A few weeks ago, I missed half the episode, and it devastated me, so now I remind myself.

On March 6th, I went to my fiduciary's office to continue the process of moving my employer-sponsored accounts to a safer investment mix now that I have retired. I wore a marled and draped dress from Halston and Ivanka Trump shoes. The white jacket on top is Nine West, since the color of the day was white.

On March 7th, I didn't really do anything, but the magic color was blue, so I wore a turquoise top from INC with brown slacks that have a matching blue border. The lurex jacket is very old, and the label has fallen off, so that will remain a mystery. Actually, I did go to Ulta to redeem a birthday gift card and ran into an old friend. I got Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm Temporary Face Tightener and The Ordinary 2% hyaluronic acid serum. Both of these products work very well. They are two of my favorites, so I always replace them. I would recommend buying the PTH from EBay, as it's pricy in stores.

On Friday, March 8th, I went to Dollar Tree to get the stuff for the Easter baskets and assembled them. I wore black knit cargo pants and a vintage silk blouse. These weird shoes are Kenneth Cole - they are pink satin and I don't wear them much. The color of the day was pink.

On Saturday, March 9th, we had a neighborhood garage sale. We put out a bunch of building supplies that were left over from the bathroom remodel and some old clothes, all for free.

I wore gray yoga pants from Skechers, a grey henley from INC, and a lighter grey waterfall jacket with lace trim. The color was ............ grey!

Om March 10th, I wore brown leggings from Felina with a leopard blouse from New York and Company, along with Dr. Scholls booties and my WHBM belt again. I guess you can figure out that the daily color was brown.

On Monday, March 11th, the color was coral. So I wore white leggings, a floral print blouse and a coral sweater. The floral slip-on shoes are from Temu. Temu is addicting. I try to only order $20 a month, and $20 buys a lot of stuff.

On Thursday, March 14th, I wore this outfit to go see the grandkids. Once again, the grey Skechers leggings, this time with a twin set from LOGO Lori Goldstein. The magic color was pink, so pink slip-on shoes from Susina were the answer.

On Friday, March 15th, I wore some knit pants from Tek Gear and a blue blouse from Metaphor. On top, I wore a grey knit poncho from Kenneth Cole.

We went to Orange to go to Burke Williams Spa. I got a $150 gift card for my retirement, but since I don't like massages or facials, I got some products.

I got a Voluspa Goji Tarocco Orange candle, some BW Pigmentation Remedy Serum, and a BW Beyond Tightening Masque. All pricy items that I would not have otherwise purchased.

We stopped at a used bookstore called Bookman. Doc got three or four 93 cent cookbooks. The casserole one is pretty good.

Pandi was dreaming about something that obviously delighted her!

We are now halfway through March. There are a few plans in place for the rest of the month. For all that excitement, stay tuned !!
