This is a Reminder - Never Complain About the Heat

Well, me and my big mouth. Remember, the other day, I was complaining about how the house gets too hot when the furnace is turned up? Well, yesterday, it absolutely poured in SoCal. They have been warning us about El Nino for months, and it hit and hit hard. So the wind blew the pilot light out on the furnace. I didn't get home until late, because my mom got discharged from the hospital and is now at the Skilled Nursing Facility where she lives for a couple of weeks, in order to regain her strength. After helping her, Doc and I came home to a freezing house. Long story short, the handyman will be by this morning to fix it.

So here is what I wore yesterday to move my mom and drive down the treacherous 405 freeway for and hour each way while it rained buckets.

I am wearing Bebe cigarette pants, a black turtleneck and a cashmere animal print cardigan from Joseph A. On top, I had my black satin trench from Elle, and my Chinese Laundry wedge booties. I did stay dry and warm. This morning, I dressed in my freezing bathroom in this:

This is the top part of the vintage Patra suit that I got in Santa Barbara, along with and Albert Nipon skirt. It is two layers of chiffon.

With it, I busted out the purple Austrian crystal necklace.

I am also showing the bugle bead detail on the Patra top. On my right hand,

The crystal and freshwater pearl bracelet that I got in Laguna Beach in November, and a new ring - pink adventurine. Here's a closeup of this beautiful semi-precious stone.

On my left hand, two Austrian crystal bracelets, a diamond eternity band, and an amethyst ring.

I wore my Bisou Bisou tweed coat with lurex and lace on top.

And finally, my grey Nine West shoes.

So let's do some linking!!! I missed Wednesday, so we will do that first. Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday. And then Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday. After that, we're on to Thursday. Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday, and Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top of the World Style.

I'll leave you with a picture of the sunset that I took Tuesday evening, before the heavens opened up.

Maybe we will see that again one day!!! :)
