Two Little Warriors

Preston, my grandson, fought in an MMA grappling competition yesterday. He just turned 8, and has been doing this for a couple of years.

It was held at Cerritos College, and kids came from all over southern California.

Here he is, getting his competition belt tied to his gi. That's part of the ceremony.

He overpowered his first opponent easily.

He pinned the other kid, and as you can see, won his first round, when the other little boy tapped out.

The next kid, although smaller than Preston, was like greased lightning.

The other kid got one more pin, but Preston won on points. No one got a tap out.

So Preston ended up winning second place. Here he is, with his dojo mates.

And here he is, with Doc and me.

So who is the other warrior, you may ask? Well, we bought his lime green lamb for Pandi at Wal Mart. It was love at first sight.

Then as I was letting her back into the house from the backyard, Kenni squirmed in. First, he ate all of Pandi's food, then he grabbed her lambie. Even though Kenni is pushing 40 pounds, little nine pound Pandi was having none of that, and snatched her lamb back.

Here's what I wore to the MMA competition:

This is a hot pink silk tunic trimmed in sequins. It has an asymmetric hemline. I wore it with white bermuda shorts.

Just one silver herringbone chain as my accessory.

Today, for work, I am wearing a self made dress. The fabric is so pretty, so I went for a simple style. It has princess seams, and I used red, green and gold ribbon as the belt.

A sparkly red Valerie Stevens cardi topped the look.

Mt garnet druzies showed up again.

On my right arm, a ruby/diamond ring, a ruby bracelet and a garnet bracelet.

On my left arm, a diamond dust bangle and a ruby cluster cocktail ring.

Onto Monday's link!!

Have a great Monday !!!
