In Like a Lamb, Out Like a Lion !!!

Well, not a lot has been going on around here lately, except for the usual. We are eagerly awaiting Doc's final week of seeing patients for the rest of his life. Good bye MD life. He is very excited.

So I guess we will look at some outfits since I haven't been doing much either. On March 7th, I wore a trusted outfit.

The slacks are Ann Taylor, the T shirt is from Old Navy, and the vest is Romeo and Juliet couture.

This outfit has always looked good and been comfortable.

Pandi posed for some new portraits. Apparently, she is in her Jabba the Hut phase.

On March 8th, I tried some really old black slacks that I hadn't worn for a while. I have a lot of black pants, and I wondered if these even fit me anymore. They did, but I am going to donate them anyway because I have many others that I like better.

The lavender silk top is White House Black Market.

On top, a multicolored boucle blazer from Petite Sophisticate.

I wore one of the necklaces that Doc got me for Christmas. It's peridot, blue topaz, and amethyst.

On my right hand, a big blue topaz ring and two bracelets - one is opal and one is tanzanite.

On my left hand, a big old tanzanite ring.

On March 9th,  It was a bit chilly. I wore this Guess tunic over slinky knit pants.

I wore my Dolce and Gabbana belt and a necklace of smoky topaz and buffalo turquoise.

On top of it all, a waterfall cardigan from Style and Co.

Here's a close up of that necklace.

On my left arm, a duo that has not seen much love lately - a Swarovski Nirvana ring and the mathcing bracelet. The color is called  Black Diamond.

On my right hand, a mabe pearl ring with crystals all around the pearl.

On  March 10th, I wore my Leith dress again, since it seems like these floaty floral dresses are big for spring.

It's smocked all around the waist.

On top, my grey leather jacket from INC with the lace back. You can't really see, but my grey suded boots have these weird lace insets too. Very matchy matchy.

On March 11th, I was a bit disappointed in my outfit. The sweater is pretty - navy, off white and gold lurex stripes. My ivory pants are old. They don't even have a label anymore.

The problem is the sleeves. They are almost dolman shaped, so it's hard to push them up like I usually do. I ended up with a big clump of thick fabric at the elbows.

I do like the sweater, I will just have to try another conformation. I wore my navy warm up jacket from Bloomingdale's on top.

My Ispy bag came. Birchbox sent out an email saying that it would be delayed this month.

So what came in this Power Moves bag?

1) In2U NYC Eye Primer

2) Context Lipstick in Into The Fire.

3) First Aid Beauty Hydrating Eye Cream with hyaluronic acid.

4) Creme Shop Jelly Mylk Daily Cleanser and Makeup Remover.

5) Sand and Sky Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask.

We are having a recipe contest at work . One dish per department. Our department entered my famous Shepherd's Pie. We will see if I win!!

UPDATE : I DID NOT WIN. Boo.

Monday, March 14th saw me wearing another one of my favorite outfits.  This is a Calvin Klein scuba dress. The electric blue shoes are from Ivanka Trump.

Here's a better look at all the silver and turquoise jewlery.

On top, another Style and Co cardigan.

On Tuesday, March 15th, I wore an Eastern Indian top that I got at a thrift store. I wore it with navy slinky pants.

After looking at my pictures, I decided to add a navy and gold belt. Too baggy otherwise. I thought that the proportions looked weird, but I got a lot of compliments.

I wore one of my genuine East Indian parures - this one is sapphire. There is a ring, earrings, and a necklace. that all match.

On March 16th, another outfit that always gets compliments. The dress is a scuba knit from JC Penney.

Here's a look at the accessories - lots of Black Hills gold that was my mom's.

My shoes are Guess. On top,  I wore a burgundy satin blazer from Emmanuel Ungaro, but didn't get a picture.

Thursday was St Patrick's Day. The only green was my jewelry. I decided to wear an old crepe skirt with a bunch of layers.

On top, a deep pink sweater and a crochet tunic from Louis Dell'Olio. No one pinched me. It was disappointing.

That night, since Doc was hungry, I made him a fat boy's Irish feast!!

Bangers with carmelized onions.

Then onion gravy and peas with bacon bits.

Real onion rings for another side dish. There were also mashed potatoes.

Here is how I plated it, in layers. I added some sauerkraut, per Doc's request.

On Friday, I went for comfort, as I had an errand to do that afternoon on the way home from work. This is my fall themed LuLaRoe knit dress.

I wore brown ribbed tights and my Top Moda booties. They really are one of my most comfortable pair of shoes.

Here's a look at the extras - See the copper bracelet? Well it fell off my arm and I was unhappy, since my brother gave it to me. But VOILA !!! It was on my office floor this morning.

Not shown - the orange/rust suede jacket that I wore on top.

Today, back to the grind after a relaxing weekend. I wore this silky skirt from Chantel and Vicky. That's a boutique that I used to frequent when I worked in Newport Beach in the 1990s. On top, a trusty polyester top from Candies.

The skirt has a tie waist - I figure that maybe it will hide my little gut.

On top of that, a long slinky duster from Bob Mackie. It has pewter sequins on the front.

It has been a few months since I redid the front yard flowers. This is what they currently look like:

On Tuesday, March 22, I wore another Ann Taylor dress. I also wore an Ann Taylor belt.

My mid section looks extra slender today. That's because I ate some questionable leftovers for lunch on Monday, and spent all afternoon and evening sick. My abdomen hurt so bad that I used Pandi as a hot water bottle. Her furry warmth really helped. Lesson learned.

My necklaces both belonged to my mom. The longer one is a Kenneth Jay Lane crystal pineapple, and the shorter one is diamond and ruby.

I wore my red leather jacket on top.

Today, March 23rd, we are having a little heat wave. It's 83 degrees today, so I changed my mind about what to wear. The top I had chosen (which I will wear tomorrow) needs dry cleaning, so I didn't want to sweat in it. This lace dress from Cece was perfect.

It has a eyelet type lace body and is trimmed in Venice lace. It is fully lined in nude colored fabric.

My necklace is made of two different necklaces. First there's a gold neck wire and then I added these black and gold enamel charms onto it. They normally go on a long strand of pearls with a big gold clasp that they fit on, but it was not the right length for this dress, so I improvised.

For the ladies - a couple of pictures of my Doc when he was a baby - he is soooooo cute !!!

On Thursday, March 24th, I decided to wear the aforementioned nice silk top that I got at Savers. It's from Karena Grimaldi, still had the tags on it, and cost over $200 in the store.

I was also brave and wore ivory slacks. I had been afraid to wear them for a couple of reasons - the first was my intestinal disturbance, and the second was that I didn't want to sweat through the fabric during the heat wave. Instant peep show.

All of these pretty necklaces are costume, from Nordstrom.

On Friday, it was the end of a very long week. I had zero motivation, so I went with a "never needs ironing, but always looks great " dress from Connected Apparel.

My accessories were likewise simple as well - mostly silver and semi-precious stones.

As you know, we live in a repurposed desert here in SoCal. Dealing with drought is what we do. But in Orange County, anything you put in the ground will grow. I'm sure the dog poop helps a bit. These are the first roses to grow back after I cut them way back this year.

I wasn't going to take pictures because a few of my flowers died during the heat wave, so the porch is not at it's best. But I got two new doormats, and I am too excited not to do the reveal.

So that's about all for now. My flooring guy is going to put down new bathrooms floors for me on May 2nd. After that, we will be getting two outdoor sheds - a she-shed for me and a storage unit for the dog run. Between now and the, anything can happen, so stay tuned !!!
