There's Something Very Spooky Going On Around Here

Say that in your Elmer Fudd voice. So let's look at some outfits leading up to Halloween:

This was a great outfit - all very old pieces. The dress is from Donna Ricco - tweed with a flower pattern on top and lurex. I got it at Neiman Marcus and it was worth every penny.

The sweater is from Barami and was a gift from my boss who was murdered last year- scroll back to February 2019 for the story. The belt is White House Black Market. The boots are actually new - from Tahari and replacements for my old black suede boots. Here is a closer look at this beautiful dress.

On October 27th, I wore a dress from Target and their collaboration with A New Day.

Nice chiffon dress with Venice lace and embroidery accents. Tahari boots and Ann Taylor belt.

On top, an embroidered blazer from Maxou.

The next two pictures are a Givenchy necklace and details on the blazer.

October 28th was Doc's 63rd birthday. He doesn't like birthdays, so I got him a cupcake and four cards.

I wore a gold lurex chiffon utility shirt from Equipment. My joggers are DKNY.

Lotsa gold and pearl necklaces, all courtesy of my mom's legacy.

Here is the cupcake. I got it at Ralph's.

On October 29th, I wore a dress that I have owned for 40 years. Literally. It is from Mileage. I got it as a young adult down in San Diego. It's a timeless chiffon hippie dress.

I wore my St John jacket and Adrienne Vittadini booties.

On October 30th, a long loose dress that I got at Kohl's. The brand is Apt 9.

The style is very forgiving and flattering on almost anyone, I would say.

I got the jacket at the same time many years ago, and the brand is SO. It's red velvet in a Victorian style.

Onto the big day - Halloween !! We haven't seen our grandkids in a while, so they were happy to come over. First, let's check out the goodies. This is the candy I got for the trick or treaters. I made 25 bags and we got 2 kids. I took the rest to work.

For our grandkids, we got these faux books at Dollar Tree. They only had 3, so we got Calista a more girly item.

The boy's books had a black widow on the top.

Here is Calista's gift, all filled up.

And here are the boys - puzzles galore !! They love puzzles.

Lest you fear that we are too creepy, under the top layer of Calista's box was a dolly set.

We tied them up with creepy ribbon the color of BLOOD.

The favorite item of all amongst all the kids -  the Skulls !!!

I would have guessed that this next item would be the blockbuster - cold hard cash.

$17 per kid. I took each bill and wrapped it up in a roll.

Each kid got a 10, a five, and two ones.

Ready to be enjoyed !!!

First, Preston came over. His Star Wars costume was insane!!

Here he is, checking out his gift.

He even had a light saber!! A relative in Utah made this fantastic costume !!

A little while later, Nathan and Kim brought their kids over - Benjy, Calista, and Joseph.

Joseph was Elliott from ET. He had a bicycle basket for ET.

Benjy was Robin Hood.

Calista made a cute Jasmine, don't you think?

They had a great time - Doc let them all pick out books from his stash and then we played games out front. Joseph said that this Halloween was so much better than trick or treating, and they wanted to come back over the next day. We respectfully declined. But it was super fun and the kids were delighted.

Back to more outfits!!

On November 2nd, I wore a sweater from Joseph A, and slacks from INC.

On top, a beautiful jacket from Cache - it has a tweed under layer and then a black tulle over layer. I have never seen anything like it. I am so glad that I bought it many years ago.

I finished it off with a beautiful silk scarf from Gucci.

The next day, I wore an outfit that was made of a no-name T shirt, long knit slacks from Reebok, and a gold lurex knit jacket from INC.

I got the lariat at Neiman Marcus, but I can't remember the brand. It's two ladies names??

November 5th saw me wearing a Bisou Bisou copper lurex sweater and joggers from Old Navy.

They are olive green and have an orange stripe up the sides.

On November 6th, I wore a crushed velvet dress from The Vanity Room. It's dramatic.

Once again, the Tahari boots. I really like them - so comfy and nice looking.

Monday rolled around. I think we just relaxed and watched 40s movies on Saturday, since it rained all day, and then Sunday was errand day.

My outfit on Monday was beautiful - Alice and Olivia knit sweater with leather accents, and a satin print skirt from Notations.

The Tahari boots!!

This necklace is from Macy's in Washington DC. That is the last trip that I have taken.

Around November 10th, weirdness ensued. My mom occasionally haunts us, and she started up that day. All the electronics were unreliable, and the power went on and off. I have since appeased her wandering soul. Don't ask.

Anyway, in the gloom, I wore a crepe skirt from INC and a fine knit sweater that I got for a pittance t the JCP COVID sales. I got the ivory, grey, and navy, since they were less than $5 each.

I wore cute booties from Nordstrom that are tan suede with diamante heels. Oh la La. On top, an ombre crocodile print swing style jacket from Charter Club.

On November 12th, one of my favorite knit skirts, a reptile print from Alfani. I wore a gold lurex top from Joseph A and an Ann Taylor cheetah haircalf belt.

Since the power situation at the house was still Code Haunted, I took the side pic at my office.
Nine West cutie pie Mary Jane shoes. The lab coat length wool coat was Nanette Lepore. It's on the hanger next to me.

Today, I went for extreme comfort. These sateen slacks are from Old Navy, and this cute houndstooth sweatshirt is from Style and Co. It has boucle, gold blobs, sequins, and a chiffon ruffle. So over done - basically ME in a top.

This moleskin coat is from Mod Cloth. It is elaborate - see below. It is also mis-buttoned.

Here is a good look at the top and the lariat necklace from INC.

And the details of the Mod Cloth coat.

So that is all. We have been laying low, but we actually prefer that. This weekend, we are going to relax, do some pleasure shopping at Barnes and Noble, and eat good food. I am making Banger Shepherd's Pie tomorrow. I will let you know how it turns out.

So be happy, be safe and love one another !!!
