Mucho Moms and Munchies!!!

It was a nice weekend, filled with family and fun !!! Anytime I get to go out to TWO nice restaurants and get dressed up is cool with me. On Friday, after work, I stopped at the Dollar Tree.

I got 4 greeting cards - 2 moms, 2 daughters in law, a monkey soap dish (my housekeeper broke the old one), a T shirt for Elli (she's a mom many times over) and some pretzels (which very mysteriously disappeared overnight).  All ready for the festivities !!!

On Saturday, I went for a long run, and then got ready to take my mom and Doc's mom out for lunch for Mother's Day.

I guess this is the face I make when I'm thinking. Ugh. The dress is by Biba, and is a very old vintage 70s hippie thing. On top, I wore a black leather jacket.

I carried a wine studded bag from Neiman Marcus.

I wore my black suede scrunchy boots and rose patterned tights.

I wore the garnet necklace and earring set that my mom gave me for a birthday long ago.

On my right hand,

My red stone bracelet from Maya on Melrose, and an amethyst ring. On my left hand,

My wedding set and a garnet and opal bracelet, another gift from my mom - this was for my 40th.
We went to an Irish pub called Muldoon's. It's in Fashion Island, which is a very nice mall in Newport Beach, about 10 minutes down the freeway from Huntington Beach. There is a tree growing right in the middle of the restaurant, which is partially outdoors and partially indoors.

That's Doc, Mimi and my mom, right by the tree. Here they are, deciding what to get.

I got Curry Fires and Clam Chowder. Doc got Fish and Chips, Mimi got shrimp and chips, and my mom got a turkey, corned beef and cole slaw sandwich. I also had a Black and Tan.

After the feast, it was time for gifts.

Here is my mom with her shoes. She liked them, but will need to try them on to be sure.

Here's Mimi with her dry erase board. She loved it.

A great time was had by all. We got home around 5, walked the dogs, and then watched TV. On Sunday, we went to Wal Mart first, before eating. We needed a few things very badly. It was not crowded at all, which is unusual for a Sunday. They are erecting solar panels over the huge parking lot. That made Doc very happy.

Then we went to a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant in Westminster, a neighboring city. It is the home of Little Saigon. It was jam packed, and the service was poor, but the food was great. We have been there before, and will go again, when it's not a holiday.

They had a very tiny menu, with not very many choices.

I kid, I kid. There were about 1,000 items on the menu. I got pho - Vietnamese noodle soup. It's pronounced Fuh.

You add the bean sprouts, chilis and other greens to taste at the table. Doc got Buddha's Delight and spring rolls.

After that, Kim, Nathan and the 3 grandkids came over. They played with Vinni in the front yard, since they don't know him very well yet. They brought gifts.

White chocolate dipped strawberries, a necklace that Benjy made, and a card that Joseph made. It was very sweet.

Now it's back to work. Here's what I wore today.

Forest green slacks by INC, a jungle print top from Nordstrom, and a banana colored blazer from Barami. Here's the look without the jacket.

I got wrinkled up very quickly, didn't I? Here's the detail on the top. It is embellished with seed beads.

I did wear a necklace, even though I don't know how well you can see it. It's white and chocolate diamonds.

On my right hand,

My Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond, and an RJ Graziano watch in rose gold tone metal. On my left arm,

My creepy green Nordstrom ring and some of the rose gold/crystal bracelets that came with the watch. On my feet,

My green and yellow Charles David shoes. Gotta wear these babies whenever I can, because they don't match with too many outfits.

So that's it for today. Oh, by the way, my Clippers absolutely creamed the Rockets last night, and are now up 3 to 1. If they win on Tuesday, they are off to the next round. Go Clippers!!!! Marry Me, Blake!!!!

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's day! I love pho, especially on a cold day.
