May 5th was Jacki's first birthday - it's hard to believe that we have had our gorgeous girl for almost a year! I got pointy party hats to celebrate:
We went to Burger King for our catering needs for this gala, since they had Whopper Juniors on offer for 2 for $5. Jacki got a whole one, Pandi and Vinni shared one, I got one, and Doc got three. We also requested a paper crown.
Jacki didn't like the crown. At all.
She did like her Whopper Junior.
The pointy hats were also fairly problematic for our birthday girl.
Vinni was a better sport, as was Pandi.
Vinni even wore the crown in exchange for his half burger.
Our vet sent Jacki a birthday email.
Here are the celebrants, all tuckered out and sunbathing.
So what else have I been up to? Well, on April 27th, I was invited to a fashion show at Macy's in South Coast Plaza. I wore a sheath dress from Taylor, along with Sam Edleman lavender shoes. I wore my usual set of jewelry that I always wear with this pretty dress.
Look who I saw at the water feature that connects the two parts of the plaza! My beloved Egyptian geese! I guess they are becoming widespread here in Orange County.
While waiting for the show to begin, I viewed a floral exhibit that was located in the designer wing of this huge shopping mall. The show was put on by Fleurs de Ville, an event company that produces bespoke displays that are unique to the audience. They work with local florists to produce the floral works. As you can see, the arrangements for this show focused on upscale fashion and jewelry.
Then the fashion show happened. There were both male and female models, as well as one absolutely delighted girl with Down's syndrome, who gave her mom a huge hug after she walked the runway. The lady running the show saw me and asked if I would be a non-paid senior model, so I gave her my number. Maybe I can add fashion model to my resume! I bought a couple of things for our upcoming trip to Arizona, so I will show you as I wear them.
When I got home, I found Jacki sunbathing in her usual modest and feminine position.
Sometimes, she guards my She-Shed.
I made another Temu order. I liked the black platform sneakers so well that I got a pair in gold reptile.
I also got a satin popover top that I will take to Arizona.
I received a sample of this Clinique All About Clean foaming cleanser, and I liked it so much that I purchased a four-pack from EBay.
I got my Birchbox. From top to bottom:
1) Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global anti-aging Cell Power Creme
2) dr botanicals Grapefruit and Watermelon Refreshing Cleanser
3) Oneiro Sunchasers Multi-Mist Spray - can be used as a makeup setting spray
4) Laritzy Cream Lipstick in Petal
I also got my Ipsy bag. I gave the Secret Garden Bag to my MIL Mimi, for Mother's Day, with an assortment of hand creams inside. I also got her Coppertone sunscreen for the Arizona trip.
Inside the bag, from top to bottom:
1) Some by Mi Retinol Intense Advanced Triple Action Eye Cream
2) What's Up Beauty Egyptian Queen Lipstick in Ankh
3) Ciate London Everyday Vacay Hydrating Face Primer
4) Symbiosis Skincare Prestige Ultra Fine Balancing Sorbet Facial Cryo-Exfoliator
5) Toy Factory Hylash Hyaluronic Serum Mascara
Pandi watched the Westminster Kennel Club Annual Dog Show on Mother's Day. Her friend, Sage the Miniature Poodle, won best in show. Pandi cheered her on.
The flowers on my front porch are going bananas! They are so many, and they are so vibrant that it looks like Disneyland out there. Everyone loves it.
Our neighbor, Rokshana, is Persian. She is Peanut's mom. She made homemade hummus and brought us a bowl, along with pita, Persian cucumber and carrots. She is one of the nicest people I know.
All that's left to show you are some outfits. On April 25th, I wore my brown and green harlequin sweater from Temu, along with brown slacks from Old Navy.
On April 29th, we took Mimi to a doctor's appointment. I wore tan knit pants from Express, with an ivory beaded chiffon top from Badgely Mischka. My necklace came from The Taste of Charlotte in North Carolina, and my belt is from Cache. I wore my new shoes from Temu.
I caught a cold at the fashion show, so I spent about three days in bed watching Scandal, the TV show that was on from 2008-2015.
I re-emerged on May 4th to get the goodies for Jacki's birthday. I wore white pants from Calvin Klein, a tri-color cardigan from Style and Co and a navy tank top from Old Navy. The sweater has leather trim and the chunky necklace is costume.
For Jacki's party, I wore grey pinstriped slacks from Express, along with a grey pullover from Old Navy.
On May 7th, I went to the Gastroenterologist with Doc. He will be having a colonoscopy in July. I wore brown slacks from Tracy Feith, with a reptile chiffon blouse from Equipment. I accessorized with a statement necklace and a woven belt that I have had for years.
On Mother's Day, we took Chinese food over for Win and Mimi. I wore a pleated skirt from Banana Republic and a black knit top from Nordstrom, along with gladiator sandals from Skechers. The top has a crisscross detail. I wore a different statement necklace and Swarovski crystal jewelry.
Today is May 15th - I am wearing tan corduroy jeans from Union Bay and a metallic animal print sweater from Ann Taylor. I also wore my new Temu shoes.
So that's about all for now - we leave for Arizona later this summer. Until then, I will be doing my usual shenanigans, and of course, you are all invited!
