Getting Ready for Some Time Off

One more day to work, then four off, then I am off to Phoenix for a conference. This is what I wore yesterday:

When I got this dress from a friend, it looked really small, so I was anticipating it not fitting. But it was stretchier than I thought it would be. It was actually very comfy.

The dress is maroon, black, grey and white with a placed print. On top, I wore a maroon swing jacket from Spiegel.

This super curvy dress has a surprise in the back. A hole. I wore this to work, but I did wear my exam jacket over to the hospital for the entire day. This dress is a little provocative on its own.

I wore my buffalo turquoise and smoky topaz statement necklaces with this outfit. I thought that all garnets may be a little too matchy-matchy.

On my left arm, an Italian silver bracelet, a ruby/diamond band and a pear solitaire.

On my right arm, a Colleen Lopez garnet ring, a triple strand garnet bracelet, and a garnet/opal bracelet.

Today, another knit dress, but much roomier than yesterday. It is made by Max Studio.

It has smocking on the sleeves and at the waistline.

I wore two necklaces - one long silver herringbone chain and a silver/onyx rope that was my mom's.

On my left arm, a bracelet that has sadly been ignored lately. It's larimar, pearl, citrine, and aurora borealis. With it, I stacked a mother of pearl ring on top of a turquoise/MOP band that was a Xmas gift.

On my right arm, another sadly ignored piece - my Swarovksi Trema ring. Along with it, a silver costume bracelet.

When she died, we moved most of my mom's antique furniture to our house. There was a beautiful solid cedar chest that is from the 1800s. It needed a little face lift, so I gave it one.

Here is the after shot of the other corner.

This shot shows a side by side comparison of the before and after. It looks beautiful now.

Inside the chest, we found a small steel safe. Doc managed to get it open. Inside, there were these two rings. I believe that they originally belonged to my mother's father.

One appears to be onyx and one appears to be a giant amethyst.

I also did a few chore type things over the weekend. We had a photo of me, Doc and our beloved Delila when we went up to Cambria, a town on the central California coast. Doc bumped the table and broke the frame, so I got a new one. Delila was THE BEST DOG EVER.

While I was at Hobby Lobby for the frame, they had fall decorations for 80% off, so I got a few faux flowers to spruce up the old house.

Now that the library is open on Sundays, I have the option of doing my weekly park run on either Saturday or Sunday. My baby Egyptian geese are all grown up and have separated into pairs and smaller groups.

This is hard to see, but I guess the Canada geese got fed up with their relatives from Egypt and went strolling through the neighborhood. It was pretty cute.

Lastly, my November Ipsy bag came.

Here is what was inside, from left to right:

1) Mystique Eyebrow pencil - I tried to use it as an eyeliner, but no good. I don't need to enhance my brows -  they are thick enough.
2) Ling New York Dual Moisture Emulsion
3) Tarte Fiesty bronzer
4) MAC Prep and Prime Makeup primer
4) Doucce Freemaric Highlighter - I have doing a different eye makeup scheme. I have been sticking with brown and cream (since I have blue eyes) but now I am trying plum and gray, so this may come in handy there.

So now that all is said and done, let's do some linking.

PS....If you want my opinion, you should make your photos bigger/full size. We love to see all of the details with fashion. And trust me, I know this because I used to have my photos small like this. Until a reader requested them bigger....
