In Between the Clouds

We have been having a very dry winter once again here in California. That's mostly good, because of the huge wildfires that decimated the brush. But for the last two weeks, it gets sprinkly, then sunny, and so on and so on. So here's what I chose to wear yesterday:

This is a mesh skirt of unknown provenance, a navy tank with attached scarf by Coldwater Creek, and a leather jacket from INC.

Here is a look at the lace back of the jacket, worn with a different outfit.

Here's a closeup of the skirt, which appears wrinkly, but actually wasn't. It has little doodads on it.

I wore my mom's beautiful heavy Italian silver necklace.

Today it's a little chillier, and it's Friday. I wore a more casual look - corduroy jeans by 7 For All Mankind, a Cache top and a cashmere leopard sweater by NY Based.

I got my necklace at the taste of Charlotte in NC.

I love how my Gucci belt accentuates my beer gut. Well, booze gut.

Skirting the Issue

Back to wearing mostly skirts, which is the usual thing for me. Yesterday, I was in my favorite color combination, black and gold:

This skirt is by Twelfth Street and the jacket is from Rampage.

Here's a better look at the print on the skirt.

The jacket has a wide portrait collar and two ties that can be tied in front or in back, according to your preference. I tied them in front.

My ancient Avon costume bib necklace mad a reappearance.

On my left arm, a yellow sapphire/diamond ring and my CDC cuff.

On my right arm, a garnet ring and a leopard enamel bracelet from Betsy Johnson.

Today sees an entirely different color palette. The colorblocked skirt is from Studio G and the knit top is also from Rampage.

On top, an uncut corduroy jacket from b bennett. It has a crocodile pattern embossed on it.

This shot is to show the ornamentation at the waist of the top.

I wore my matching convertible necklace from Joan Rivers. I used the coral and amber insets.

On my left arm, two costume pieces. The ring is from H&M.

On my right arm, Betsy Johnson again and am amber/crystal ring.

I went to get Pandi's special dog food yesterday, and the Nordstrom rack next door had a sign - "Extra 50% off shoes". Of course I went in. The pickins' were slim, but I did find these suede Halogen booties.

The embroidery is really pretty and they were really marked down, so....

And my March Birchbox came.

Here's what was inside:
1) OUAI Leave In Conditioner
2) Smashbox Cosmetics Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer
3) Marcelle 8 in 1 New Age Power Serum
4) ModelCo Luxegreme Long Wear Lipstick
5) Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume Eau de Parfum - weird name, I wonder if it will sell well.

It's a Wrap

My bacon wrapped pork loin, that is. Here it is, in all its glory:

This was a four pound tenderloin, sliced in half lengthwise, then stuffed with cream cheese, spinach, onion and garlic.  Then I laid it down on a lattice made of bacon, rolled it once, and toothpicked it together. I cooked it for 75 minutes at 350.

I served it with cheesy mashed potatoes and sweet and sour red cabbage.

Here's what I wore to cover my belly full of pork:

The dress is INC and the belt is Versace.

Three necklaces: the shortest is garnet and diamond dust, the middle is an LV lock and the longest is a KJL pineapple shaped pendant with red crystals.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and a studded leather cuff.

On my right arm, a ruby/diamond ring, a ruby bracelet and a garnet bracelet.

Rain and Pain

My back has been hurting so much that I have been miserable. On top of that, I have been in a big work project and have had to be on my feet alot. But actually, sitting is worse. Today it was supposed to pour rain, but so far, just light sprinkles. But I can show you what I wore for these last three days, and you will notice that I am once again smiling!!!

This is the day where it hurts the most. I am wearing a two piece jersey knit tank and jacket set from Antthony that is so soft and made of the most wonderful material. My slacks are from Ann Taylor and are a wool blend.

You can see the sequin embellishment in this picture of my necklace, which is a convertible piece from Kenneth Jay Lane. There are two strands of the amber and topaz beads, and one amber crystal pendant.

On my left arm, a huge smoky topaz ring and a brass cuff ornamented with bugle beads.

On my right arm, another smaller smoky topaz ring and a costume crystal bangle.

Yesterday, I went with an all navy blue outfit and a slight smile. The top is by Catherine Malandrino and the serge slacks are just very old.

On top, I wore a navy pinstripe blazer from Classiques Entier.

A slight smile appears.

For necklaces, I chose a convertible lapis pendant and a long silver herringbone chain.

Today, I started with a thick intarsia dress from Calvin Klein.

On top, a blazer from Escada.

I wen with all garnet and silver jewelry. My necklace is a garnet blossom.

On my left arm, a wrap around studded leather bracelet, a ruby/diamond band, and a diamond solitaire.

On my right arm, a garnet cluster from Colleen Lopez, and a garnet/opal bracelet.

Well, that's about all I have. I am going to slowly get back into the swing of things this weekend because my back is finally pain free after about a week.
