Countdown to Christmas !!!

So after the manager's party at the Balboa Bay Club, I came home and found this on my doorstep:

My December Birchbox !!! It was a little early this month, probably because they wanted to get them out before the shipping services get crazy. Here's what was inside.

1) Silhouette by Christian Siriano Eau de Parfum - I have three pairs of his shoes and like them, so....
2) Juara Coconut Illipe Hand and Nail Balm - my hands and nails can use all the help that can be thrown at them.
3) Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment - another facial product, but I will definitely try it.
4) Coastal Scents Style Eyes Eyeshadow Palette - I haven't opened it yet, but it is supposed to have gemstone inspired hues. I will need to watch a You Tube video to see how to interpret this for a mature face like mine. When I was young, in the 80s, I wore all kinds of crazy eye colors.
5) Harvey Prince Sea Salt Texturing Mist - for a beachy texture. Since I AM beachy, this should be interesting.

Then, we went down to Villa Valencia to visit my mom. They had a dance recital, given by the local schools. After that, there was a piano and vocal school. The oldsters have no filter - at first, the more out of touch ones were loudly saying that the kids weren't any good, but 2/3 of them eventually fell asleep during the 90 minute performance. It started with the bigger girls doing The Dance of the Flowers from the Nutcracker. They were pretty talented, and very graceful.

Then, three tiny little girls did I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. The one on the right forgot where she was, and just stood there staring at the crowd. Well, she was only about three, so she will get another chance.

Then, a group did Hip Hop Christmas. One of the girl's grandma was right next to me, She was so proud, and I made it a point to compliment the girl on her performance. They were pretty good.

Then there was a cute performance of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. The costumes were adorable, and the girls were all really good at tap. That must be the school's specialty.

Then Doc and I went to one of our favorite restaurants - Fortune Cookies. They have Sushi, Japanese food and Chinese food.

Doc had the sashimi salad. It was huge, and looked delicious.

I had the chicken lettuce wraps. There is enough filling for five of them. I usually eat two, then take home the rest. I had two, Doc had one, and then we took it home, and Elli and I ate it later.

Speaking of Elli, I did her bad on Sunday morning. During the night, I got hot and turned the heater off, instead of down. In the morning, it was 61 degrees. Oops. So I quickly turned it on, and placed the shivering Elli on her down pillow in front of one of the registers.

I laid her pillow on the treadle of our antique Singer sewing machine. I learned to sew on this machine. It is at least 150 years old. Then, we got another nice surprise.

Eggs from the hens on the ranch!!! Look at all the colors - there were even olive green eggs, and some were huge and round, while others were almost bullet shaped.

I chose to eat the tan one with brown speckles for my breakfast. Doc took the olive green ones. I wish I knew which hen laid which egg.

First, I sauteed onion rings and Spam slices until they were carmelized and crispy.

Then I added CoJack cheese and the fried eggs and we had nice breakfast sandwiches. So now, it's back to work. We are being inspected by the ANCC to become a Magnet hospital, so we were asked to wear blue, the Memorial Care color.

This is a Talbot's ombre knit tunic sweater combined with classic slacks by Classiques Entier. I wore a trio on heavy gold chains with pendants and a Liz Claiborne scarf.

And of course, the outtake of me putting on my earrings.

So let's link!!! First, Rachelle at www.pinksole.com has How I Fall. Next, Deb at www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday. And finally, Ana Luiza at www.northwestblonde.com has Start The Week Stylish!!! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!!
