63 and Me !!

Twice a year, I like to refresh the flowers in my pretty front yard. As I was assessing the situation and deciding what to plant, a very sweet little helper appeared.

Turns out, she just wanted to sunbathe.

Doc requested another Shepherd's Pie. As always, delicious.

For one of my last days prior to my vacation, I wore a tried and true outfit. My dress is Theory. The leather jacket came from Macy's in Honolulu, and the fringed scarf is from a boutique in Truckee, California.

I like to wear these $5 leopard booties with this dress. They really don't go with a lot of things, but a tan and brown outfit is a no-brainer.

On the same day, look what my work friends gave me!!

Global Cocktails, snacks and a nice goblet.

Pandi wants  some.

See the box in the corner? My Ruggables Rug by Jonathan Adler !!!

Pandi moved from the cocktail kit to the rug. She really marked it up with her scent.

But it is washable, and I have already washed it, and it came out perfect !!! Very pleased with this rug.

I decided on the snake pattern for the sun room, where a lot of my antique furniture lives.

On January 25th, I wore an outfit that needs no ironing. It is all 100% genuine polyester.

The top is Michael Kors, the pants are Antthony Designs, and the belt was from a shop in Tucson.

Onto the birthday Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) cruise !!

First stop - Dog Beach in Huntington Beach. As you can see, the day was clear and absolutely beautiful. Thanks once again, dear God. The rest of the week was overcast.

I have my goblet .

Then we cruised up to Sunset Beach, goblet in hand. See the HB Pier in the distance?

When we got up to Seal Beach, Doc noticed an estate sale. so we stopped to look.

Seal Beach is very quiet and pretty. I lived there for about a year, way back in time. This street is called Electric Avenue.

This shot shows the sand berm. Seal Beach is a little below sea level and if there is a big swell, then the homes on the boardwalk get flooded. So they built a huge berm to help out.

We strolled down Main Street and stopped in this shop - Alamitos Antiques on Main. Just north of Seal Beach lies Alamitos Bay and Marina.

There were lots of knives.

And lots of antique guns.

Then we walked up and down Main Street.

I gave my gangsta signs for the big 6 3.

We ended up eating at O'Malley's Tavern. Doc had fish and chips and I had sausage rolls and tomato bisque.

Then we walked the length of the pier. That is Palos Verdes in the distance.

There were a lot of cruise ships anchored in Long Beach harbor. I don't know if this was a stop on the cruise, or if the ships are just moored there and not in use.

This is downtown Long Beach. The Queen Mary is there, along with quite a few tourist attractions, like the Pike.

I made friends with a mature male gull.

I will NOT eat any contaminated fish- especially barracuda.

Then we went up through Long Beach to an Antique Mall up there. Next door, they have opened a used book shop - Doc's Nirvana.

My grandkids brought me these flowers - Joseph picked out the colors.

Pandi likes the flowers too !! She seems to like everything I get lately.

They also brought me some vegan banana bread.

I got this big Pyrex measuring cup at the estate sale.

We stopped at the Seal Beach library (on Electric Avenue !!!) and I stocked up on books. 10 cents each.

This was my uniform for the entire week - various leggings and hoodies. I fear that I may become a slob after I retire.

I got Pandi a huge pork bone. Her breath is horrendous, and chewing the bone helps get the tartar and plaque off her teeth.

Then, since we had a 30% off coupon, we went back to Savers. I got his brown / ivory sweater jacket.

I also got this beige knit / chiffon waterfall cardigan.

And I found a brand new with tags jacket from Susan Graver. It has a lacy  weave and has metallic accents.

Finally, another new with tags tunic from Chico's. It was $6.99, so I saved about $112.

Oh I forgot - my Coach crossbody died in Europe a few years ago, so I got this black one.

Pandi spent considerable time trying to hide her huge bone. She dragged it to her crate.

Then she tried to hide it under the rug in the back room. We will NEVER see it there.

It's about 6" long at this point.

Here are some pictures of the new flowers. I will take some more in a couple of weeks, after they have settled in and grown some.

Back to work on February 1st. Thanks to the Savers trip, I have new stuff to wear all week!!

I combined my new sweater with ivory slacks from Ann Taylor.

My tank is sequined in an animal pattern, and I wore a harness print scarf belt.

The next day, I wore the Susan Graver jacket with a Taylor dress.

This necklace is one of my favorites. It's from Joan Rivers and my mom gave it to me for my birthday one year.

On Thursday, I combined the Chico's tunic with brown knit slacks.

It was pretty long on me, so I hitched it up with my Paloma Picasso belt. The necklace is from the Taste of Charlotte street fair in North Carolina.

On Friday, it was pretty chilly, so I wore Express Editor slacks, a lurex tunic, and a grey suede vest.

I added a grey suede belt and lot of Native American jewelry.

More cute sunbathers, this time out by the pool .

One last gift to myself - this Winter Red Fox mat that I put by the French doors. The sunbathers helped with deciding the placement.

On Sunday, I went to HB Central Park for a walk. My foot is almost healed from the plantar fasciitis.

Looks like there was a Common  Coot convention where these ladies were trying to picnic.

And a Canada Goose convention right around the corner.

So this week will be unseasonably warm. They are expecting near 80 degrees for the Super Bowl on Sunday. It is up in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium. That's about an hour north of HB.

On February 7th, I wore a dress and jacket from Kate and Rosy.

My booties are taupe suede with floral embroidery. They are Halogen.

I wore all Black Hills and rose gold jewelry.

I made a delicious tater tot casserole for dinner. And for Doc's lunch on Tuesday, when he has his telemedicine patients. According to his clinic, they can no longer see patients via telemedicine, only in person. So he will be retiring on April 15th. The clinic is in San Diego, so he will not be going down there. His patients are upset, but he is getting them all set up with new providers.

Today, I wore this floral dress from Pretty Little Thing. It's a true wrap around style.

My pink microfiber loafers are from Susina.

I wore a satin jacket from Spenser Jeremy in the morning when it was still chilly.

I wore this Celtic Shield pendant and two Semi-precious bracelets - the deeper green is Malachite, and the lighter green one is seraphanite. My earrings are also malachite.

Well, a lot is going on these days, so I need to sign off and take care of a few things. The surge continues and work has been busy - lots of sick coworkers.

My tales of adventure will resume with my shenanigans on February 10th. Have a great time and until we meet again !!
