So let's take a look at our outbreak outfits. On February 24th, I wore a Carmen Marc Valvo dress. It is a weird material - it is like moleskin, but it has a shiny crocodile pattern embossed on it.
On top, I wore a tweed jacket from Ellen Tracy. I replaced the buttons with nicer goldtone ones that I found on a jacket that was worn out. I upcycled !!
On February 25th, I wore a Calvin Klein dress. The belt did not come with the dress, but I found it to be a little shapeless without a belt. That was unusual, because Calvin Klein is my favorite designer and I always find his designs to be flawless.
On top, I wore a faux leather jacket that I got at Stein Mart. The brand is Lena Gabrielle. It has a thin strip of reptile around the edges, with clear crystals. It's really pretty.
The next day I wore a combination of old items. This top is from an unknown brand, and is a satiny fabric in deep blue and green jewel tones. It has ruching at the neckline, sleeves and empire waist.
I wore it with plain black knit slacks and a kelly green wool jacket from Petite Sophisticate. I got a ton of compliments on the color of the jacket. Who knew - green is very popular, I guess. The jacket has a fantastic tailored shape and is flattering with any other pieces.
The next day, I wore the Carole Little dress that I got when I was in Philadelphia last June.
This dress is very easy to wear and always looks nice. I reach for it when I am short on time but want to look good.
On Friday, February 28th, I wore my favorite Calvin Klein slinky knit jumpsuit. On top, I wore a lime green brocade jacket from Helena Sorel. Believe it or not, someone did not want to stand in line behind me at the grocery store because I was wearing a "Chinese jacket". Okay. It's actually a Canadian jacket.
All ignorance aside, it's a beautiful piece made of Asian inspired fabric. I also took the opportunity to wear my weird green resin necklace.
Last Friday, I got an email from one of the few consignment shops left in my area. They were having a sale. Of course I went. Look what I found - the same Carole Little dress that I got in Philadelphia, only in a blue color way. You can bet that I purchased this beauty!!
On top, I wore a bright blue jacket that came from a bespoke tailor over in Little Korea. In my neck of the woods, Little Korea is in a city called Garden Grove. I have a rental condo over there and occasionally go over to check things out and make sure my elderly tenant has everything she needs. When I do go, I sometimes look in the shops there. Okay, always.
On Tuesday March 3rd, I did a big tabletop drill for the hospital about the coronavirus. A tabletop is where you present a scenario, and the crowd uses the resources given them to manage the issue. I wore a very comfy sweater dress from Candies.
I got artsy and wound strands of seed beads around my neck. It was uncomfortable. Next time I will go with a classic gold chain.
The next day, I wore a sweater jacket from Tog Shop with a blue satin tank from St John and black knit slacks. I was very tired - we have a coronavirus call every day at 7AM, and then I spend my day solving issues surrounding the cornonavirus, on top of my regular work.
By Wednesday, I was feeling a little better as far as exhaustion goes, so I got creative again with older pieces in my huge wardrobe.
The tan slacks and the green satin top are both from nameless strip mall shops, but they are both cute and were inexpensive. I was also super comfy.
On top, I wore the really cool jacket from Cache that I have had for years and years and I have never seen anything like it. It is forest green with lime green flecks in a tweed material, and then the whole jacket is overlayed in sheer black organza. Just beautiful.
Finally it was Friday. It was also Colon Cancer Awareness day. We were supposed to wear blue and assemble for a picture at 11 AM, but I was too busy to make it. Anyway, I wore one of my favorite old lady slinky pantsuits that I got when I was taking care of my mom during her final illness.
Easy fit, easy wear knit, flattering style. It's draped and has a goldtone ornament holding the ruching and draping up on the side. Sandals by Gucci.
So what else have I been doing besides work and coronavirus. I got new running shoes:
I only wear Asics shoes for running - always have. Dick's had a 50% off sale, and then the only pair left in my size was the display pair, so I got another 50 % off, making them under $40.
My ugly plastic hamper is now being recycled. I got a nice black wooden one.
I am also replacing some of the older switch plates. For the newly refurbished bathroom, I went with Van Gogh's Starry Night.
Doc had been eyeing an Apple Watch, so he treated himself to one.
I purchased a large bunch of flowers ans split them into two smaller arrangements.
I had also heard that rice was in short supply, along with water and toilet paper. I haven't had any problems finding any of those items. CVS did have a homemade hand sanitizer recipe displayed in their store.
Doc made sure that his own personal disaster stash of Raisinets is in full supply.
Pandi has a new fetish - she loves to scurry into the garage when no one is looking and then climb up into the basket that holds my workout clothes.
She still has time to curl up on Doc's laundry when he is in the shower.
The official portrait now hangs above my antique perfume bottles next to the bed.
It is supposed to rain most of this week. On Sunday, I harvested an assortment of flowers from the yard and made some little bouquets.
The sunny orange daisies are now keeping the two Money Trees company.
Well, that's all for now. I sincerely hope and pray that this coronavirus stuff ends soon. I have been working lots of extra hours to keep up with everything and I am getting tired. Stay tuned!!
