Some Bunny Had Fun on Easter

Our Easter party went off as planned. I wore this chiffon maxi dress from Xhiliration. It looks comfy, but the knit slip that goes underneath was weird. I ended up cutting off the straps and knotting them to make them shorter, and that helped.

I wore a gold herringbone chain and a costume crystal pendant. I also wore black thong sandals with crystals.

The kids liked the money game. As suspected, Joseph thought that the lightest eggs would have the bills, so he was not allowed to touch the eggs before he picked one. He got the $5 egg anyway.

The kids also liked the other stuff in their baskets. They ate some of the candy immediately.

Then Luke loaded up the paint ball gun. He set up a target with all the pizza boxes.

Nathan went first.

Joseph followed.

Benjy was third in line.

Then it was Grannie Rosie's turn !!! I took aim.....

Had to reload since I blasted those boxes into smithereens.

Doc has always been a great shot with any type of weapon.

Calista even gave it a try in her bunny ears.

We celebrated Calista's 8th birthday on Easter as well, even though it's on the 15th.

Back to work on the 18th - my first day as a non-managerial employee. I wore a sleek black knit dress from Connected Apparel, one of my favorite dress brands.

My shoes are Style and Co black elastic with gold lurex - a perfect match for the dress.

This diamond pendant was my mom's - it is called the Journey Through Life

On April 20th, another dress from Corrected Apparel - this time a shirt dress.

I wore my Escada belt, Hermes CDC, and favorite gold necklace.

On Thursday, April 21st, a silk dress from Max Azria took center stage. I wore it with my new burgundy Steve Madden booties.

On top, a cardigan from Mirasol that I have had for a while but never got to wear. As you can see, it has satin edging and beaded embroidery.

I layered two necklaces - one is a deep blood crystal and the lower one is an amethyst Y necklace - that style got popular in the 1990s and is now a staple of any costume jewelry wardrobe.

On April 22nd, we drove over to Anaheim to finalize the plans for the She Shed. I can't wait. It poured rain the night before, so I wore a cashmere sweater from Karen Scott and INC equestrian print slacks.

I took Mimi for her initial physical therapy evaluation. She has a Deputyrens contracture and a ganglion cyst on her wrist. She will have 10 sessions. She loves it - doesn't hurt that her therapist is a super cute guy.

On Monday, April 25th, I wore a flared scuba dress from CeCe California.

I wore a costume turquoise lariat and a shorter blue and green necklace with this dress. The ankle wrap sandals are from Topshop.

On Tuesday, some really old ottoman knot pants from Express and a slinky knit tunic from Style and Co.

The usual suspects for accessories - Escada belt, leather bracelet with crystals and a topaz and pearl necklace that I got at the Taste of Charlotte in N Carolina.

Wednesday brought a surprise at work. I had handed off one of my most horrible duties, but on the scheduled day, my successor called in sick, so I had to do it anyway. I wore a dress from Taylor.

My lavender shoes are from Sam Edelman, and most of the crystal, tanzanite, and diamond jewelry belonged to my mom.

On Thursday, I wore a cerulean outfit from Calvin Klein. The slacks and satin top were purchased together from the same collection.

I got this necklace in a boutique in San Luis Obispo. It is so pretty, but has tarnished so badly. It was a few hundred dollars, so I am sad that the metal is such poor quality.

I was off on Friday, but went to the hospital anyway for a baby shower. Details after the outfit. These are embellished jeans from Stein Mart, worn with a henley style top and a velvet camisole.

I got this costume necklace at the hospital gift shop many moons ago.

Jess and her partner Leslie are having a baby girl, who is to be named Marlowe, which was Jess' maiden name. I got them 4 sacques, 6 socks, a bib, some booties, and a Hula girl. The solar dancing hula girl is for Leslie, who loves Hawaii.

The flowers keep blooming, especially the roses.

Pandi has been enjoying her sun baths.

But I put her to work, inspecting the new herbs and the pots that they will go in.

I cleared and painted the shelf along the front of the house. It was easier than expected.

The three large dark grey pots will go on this shelf.

Pandi has also been enjoying sunbaths on the front porch. Occasionally she will venture forward and sit on the step. The face.

Here is the front porch as of today, May 1st. Isn't it beautiful?

As you look to the left:

And to the right:

It makes me happy to have a beautiful floral display right outside the front door.

The indoor flora are flourishing as well. My sweet little Lily has a perfect flower. I have struggled with her, but I think that I have found a location for her that has the perfect amount of light for her delicate little self.

Pandi sunbathes by the money trees as well.

I have two money trees. They are beautiful and enormous. The huge tall one is Miss Mun. The shorter, bushier one is Baby Mun, and she was cloned from Miss Mun when she broke a big branch. I propagated the cut branch in a vessel of water, then planted her and she grew big.

A few months ago I found another broken branch, this time on Baby Mun. I tried to propagate it, but failed. I was left with a bare node. A node is where a break occurs and a bare piece of stem is left. So I trimmed the node down to pale green, then took meticulous care of Baby Mun.  The node now has 3 areas that are sprouting - I hope at least one takes off.

Okay, so that is all for now. Tomorrow we are having new bathroom flooring installed. I can't wait - my bathroom has quartz floors, which are only beautiful when new. After 20 years, they are discolored and the grout is moldy and gross. And Doc's bathroom has disgusting baseboards, which will be replaced. I stained his cabinet with black stain - what a mess !!! But it looks good - the original finish lasted 12 years, which is great for a bathroom.

Stay tuned for the reveal of the bathrooms!!!
