Today is Kenni's 16th birthday. I am amazed that he lived this long.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MY DEAR KOOO !!!
Before we get to the backyard update and the birthday festivities, let's check out some outfits.
On August 11th, I wore this dress by City Triangles. I felt that it looked a little bit juvenile for someone my age, so it will be donated.
I did get to wear my black plastic waterfall necklace and my trusty Target gladiator sandals.
On August 12th, a favorite of mine. The embellished top is from Style and Co and the blue and black print skirt is from Rampage.
This design is all done in little silver studs.
That night, I took some funny pictures of Pandi as she lay on the sofa next to me. She looks like roadkill.
On August 15th, I wore a scuba knit dress from Forever 21.
The extras - can't have a beer belly when wearing this number!!
On August 16th, it was very hot, so I wore an older dress that is made of two layers of light weight chiffon. The brand is Faith, Love and Passion.
My necklace is costume. I wore silver and pale blue topaz jewelry with this dress.
On Wednesday, August 17th, I wore a knit dress from Taylor.
My belt is vintage - I am sure of that because I bought it in the early 1980s.
On Thursday, something new!! This tunic top is from Badgely Mischka.
The skirt is old and doesn't have a label, but it is chiffon.
Here's a look at the detailing on the tunic/ The same embellishment is on the ends of the bell sleeves.
On Friday, I only worked a couple of hours, so I wore something extra comfy.
The workout pants are Calvin Klein, and the studded top is INC.
I took the grey vest off as soon as I left the hospital. Its only purpose was to cover my butt at work.
Yesterday I felt like dressing up, so I wore one of my favorite dresses, also by Calvin Klein.
Once again, lots of blue topaz and silver to complement this cerulean blue dress.
On August 23rd, I wore some Express ponte knit pants, a velour cami trimmed in ivory lace, and an animal print blouse with Venice lace appliques.
The blouse is from Together by Speigel - you have to be old to remember the Spiegel catalog!!
Onto the backyard - I have filled all of the planters with red bark.
Here's the view from the other side of the pool.
Here's the birthday boy supervising my work.
Here are both boys talking about their ideas for the landscape design.
I got two decorative pillows at Walmart for the conversation set.
On August 14th, we had a pool party for the grandkids. Nathan and his family will be moving to Prescott, Arizona soon.
There was lots of diving.
There was also lots of pie eating - chocolate and Dutch apple.
The kids played with a boogie board.
We dove for a lot of quarters. The finale was a free for all and had quarters, a lucky horseshoe charm and a jewel.
Benjy got the jewel.
Here are Wim and Mimi in front of the She Shed.
The final touch, the lattice topping on the wall, was put in yesterday.
My front porch is looking pretty sweet.
Now for the pictures of the Sweet Sixteen birthday extravaganza!!
A feast of McDonalds cheeseburgers was prepared.
Pandi selected the menu and supervised the preparations.
The rave was on, and a good time was had by all!!!
