The Scavenger Hunt

So we were all set to take my mom and my MIL to lunch. This auspicious occasion was to celebrate my birthday, and my mom's birthday (Feb 4) . I was all ready to go to a beautiful upscale Italian restaurant called the Anaheim White House. But when we got there, it was closed for a wedding. Boo Hoo Hoo. So we called Orange County Mining Company and Orange Hills Restaurant, because we were in the area. Both were also closed for lunch. BooHoo Hoo Hoo. Since we were near Disneyland, we just drove down the street until we spied a Tony Roma's.  We all agreed that we like Tony Roma's. It's a rib and steak place, but they have burgers, chicken and salads. Mimi got a full slab of baby backs, Mom got a half BBQ chicken, I got Stacked Spinach Chicken ( 2 chicken breasts, creamed spinach, artichoke hearts, 4 cheeses) and Doc got a Steakhouse Burger with a Caesar Salad.
So all's well that ends well in the birthday lunch Scavenger Hunt.

So before all this happened, Mimi, Doc and I went to see our grandson Preston get his green belt in Mixed Martial Arts.

There were about 30 kids, all under 7, since this is a PeeWee class.

They showed us the techniques that they need to learn to progress with their belts, then lined up to get a stripe, a belt, or a certificate.
Preston went from an orange belt to a green belt. After that, there is blue, red, purple, brown and black. None of the PeeWees are above a purple.

This will be Preston's last class at this gym, since Luke, Ashley and Preston moved to another part of SoCal. So Ashley brought donuts for everyone and a mat for a picture frame for everyone to sign.

The donuts were a huge hit. And what did I wear for this double gala? Well, of course, one of the dresses Mimi got me for my birthday. She gave me four dresses. And I also wore a necklace that my mom gave me, so no need for any jealousy.

This is a knit shift made by Old Navy. It is totally straight up and down. It is a size Small. It is primarily tan, brown, and white, so I wore brown tights. I also wore a tan suede jacket by Belle Sport, and carried a Beverly Hills Bag Lady purse.

I have learned how to prop my camera on the hood of my car to get selfies in front of the garage door. So let's get a look at the necklace.

This beautiful necklace is a torsade of freshwater pearls that range from ivory to rose to brown. My mom gave it to me many years ago. The dress needed some shape, which I provided with a gold and brown leather belt.

My cool new brown suede boots with the gold chains were perfect for this outfit.

My jewelry was a no brainer. On the left, my wedding set, along with an RJ Graziano rose gold watch with two of the bangles that came in the set of 10 that match the watch. I picked two with clear crystals. On my right hand, my matching Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond and my Platinum bracelet.

So that's that. I was very comfy today, and felt like I looked pretty good, too. This last shot is of the amaryllis that my SIL, Tawn, gave me and my mom for Xmas. This white one sat in the sunlight that comes through my mom's sliding glass door at Villa Valencia. Apparently, it LOVED that spot. This was only one if the blossoms that it simultaneously produced.

One last thing - remember the David Aaron shoes that I wore on Friday? I mentioned that it was sad that they were falling apart. I have had them for a long time, and thought that I would never find a new pair. Well, then I thought that I can find anything on Ebay, and lo and behold:

Brand new, never worn, my size. The trifecta of shoes. And because of that, I am going to use my spectacular find to join up with Sheila at www.sheilaephemera.blogspot.com for Shoe Shine Saturday!! I thought that I would have to pass this time, because I didn't really have anything cool or new to show, and then this happened. It's kismet. I must join. Hop over and have a look. Also, have a great Superbowl Sunday!!!
