It's A Cruel Cruel Summer

You were right, members of Bananarama!! The COVID pandemic goes on, although the cases are decreasing somewhat. I am a little concerned that as soon as it almost goes away, along comes Labor Day, with all the parties and beach gatherings. We shall see. It gets a little easier with every bit that my workload lightens, and every day brings us closer to a vaccine.

So what have I been wearing? Well, I have been working from home for a few days a week. I will reveal the reason later, but for now, here are some outfits. On July 21st,

I wore a dress from Calvin Klein. It is coral matelasse knit. The scarf is from an old bikini that I had, made by La Blanca.
On July 22nd, I wore a vintage sundress from Mary McFadden.
All of the turquoise jewelry pieces were gifts from Doc at various times.
My shoes are from Target.
This next dress is from a brand called Max and Cleo that I got in Fort Lauderdale at a boutique. The suede jacket is Baby Phat, and I got it in Honolulu a long time ago.

This pale pink crepe top came from Nordstrom, as did the two costume necklaces. The tuxedo cigarette pants are from Bebe.
I got the reptile sandals at Nordstrom Rack - they are Steve Madden.
This next outfit showcases a long knit jacket that is from Philosophy.
The white slacks are Semantiks, and the knit top is some cheapy that I picked up somewhere.

This next outfit, worn on July 30th, is one that I have not worn in a long time. It is from Ann Taylor. The blouse is silk in a stained glass print, and the linen-look dress is sleeveless and has a basketweave neckline.
On July 31st, comfort was key. So I wore my trusty navy knit pants from Antthony and a polyester top from Kohl's.

I was very comfortable. We have not had a very hot summer so far this year - as a matter of fact, it has been foggy almost every morning. Very weird for August, but very weird seems to be the theme of 2020.

I will probably not ever wear this satin Mexican style dress to work ever again - it's a little on the short side.

It is pretty, though, and summery in an unusual way. My shoes are Gucci.
This next outfit was a little problematic for me. I had originally picked out a silk skirt that was longer and pleated. But with the baggier top, it was just dumpy and sad. So I switched to this blue leopard pencil skirt.
The proportions were much better, but it was falling apart at the waist - the elastic was all shot. So I suffered through the day and then tossed this poor skirt in the garbage. I have had it for a long time, so I did get lots of use out of it.

Finally, on August 7th, I wore a very cute outfit that I have worn many times. The jeans are from Fabrizio Gianni. They are nice - they are cotton with a ton of spandex in them. However, there are a couple of stains on them that I need to get rid of. I am not good at that sort of thing, so I will have to ask some of my friends for advice.

The top is from JC Penney.  All of my jewelry is rose gold and belonged to my mom.
The cool weather has had one bright spot - my orange roses have been doing very well.

I have purchased only one item during these last couple of weeks, and it is this Anne Klein sweater dress. It's a heavy flat knit. I will wear it once fall rolls around, although I am betting that we will have quite the Indian Summer this year.
Apparently, everyone in the neighborhood is taking the masking rule seriously.

Okay, now for the confession. I have been working from home because we had our kitchen remodeled. This is the last snack I made before the demolition, on July 18th.
And this is the first dinner that I made in the new kitchen, on August 8th. The next post will be all about the remodel - it was fairly painful, like all these things are.
This dinner is pork strips, with mashed potatoes, fried peppers, Polish beet salad and mustard vinieagrette sauce.

It was delicious!! Stay tuned for the torture that is a major remodel.

Stay safe !!
