On the flora front, things are going very well. My mini-roses are all abloom, despite the drought. I was just telling my mom that I was disappointed that my bridal veil lillies hadn't bloomed yet, but last night, they were finally out. Here they are.
Unlike star gazers, these don't last when cut. My hibiscus bushes are also doing well, but that's not surprising, since they are tropical flowers. Here is a picture of my two favorite colors. I also have solid red and solid pink ones.
In keeping with the floral theme, my outfit today is all flowery. The pants are once again older than the hills, from Express. But they have spandex in them, and fit perfectly. The top is one that I brought home as one of my souvenirs from a trip to San Luis Obispo. That is a lovely college town up the central California coast. This area is one of my favorite places on earth - it's so different from SoCal and northern California.
When I was assembling this outfit, I tried a couple of different necklaces on my dress form. I ended up with this moonstone statement piece, because I liked how it contrasted with all the pink and purple going on.
For my arms, I went with my Anne Klein white enamel watch, a Swarovski wide band, and a ring made of a trio of pale blue topaz on my left hand.
On my right, a tanzanite bracelet, a thin silver bracelet, and a big Golden Girly costume ring.
I also considered a couple different pairs of shoes, but went with the very comfy Pour La Victoire taupe suede wedges.
I just had a thought. Maybe, if I dress like the dog of my dreams, instead of the flowers of my yard, someday my pooch will come. Sorry Walt Disney (Someday, My Prince Will Come is running through my head.)
Today, I am linking this post to www.thepleatedpoppy.com for What I Wore Wednesday. Just like usual, a day late and a dollar short.
