May and June 2026

 When I was at the Huntington Beach Wetlands on May 22nd, I saw one of my favorite rare birds - The pin-tailed wydah!

These little cuties are native to Africa, but over the years as bird fanciers bought them and released them, they bred and were able to live here due to our mild climate.

On May 23rd, I had my oral surgery to remove an infected wisdom tooth. I was very scared, but it went fine. The dentist was really nice, and I had no pain. I also did not need general anesthesia, which was my biggest concern. This is what I wore:

The half leather / half denim jeans are from A Gold E. My matching beige and white sweater is Perry Ellis, and my booties are from Calvin Klein.

Rusty is a wonderful, adorable little companion!

I ate a lot of ice cream for a few days after my procedure, and Rusty wanted some.

Here I am, in all my glory on May 24th, the next day. Very little pain but quite a bit of swelling.

My Jacki was very sympathetic.

Rusty likes the same TV programs as I do, so we watch together quite often.

We didn't really do anything on Memorial Day. It has been more overcast than usual, as evidenced by this outfit I wore on May 27th. My jeans are Paige, and my turtleneck is from Talbots.

On May 30th, we went to a May Day Hermetic Fair at Old World. I wore Old Navy Pixie pants, a sweater from Joseph A, and Mossimo sneakers.

I bought two herb blends from the Golden Swan. I got Prosperity and Healing, because I want good health and financial comfort to continue in my life. I sprinkle them on my candles that I burn every now and then.

On May 30th, we just dog walked and did the usual stuff. I wore Levis jeans and an old embellished T top that I got at Macy's long ago. My necklace is from a brand called Cookie Lee. They used to do those at-home parties before shopping on the internet caught on.

I also bathed Rusty that day. I used the kiddie pool. He behaves very well when I wash him.

We got a surprise bag from Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab that day. You pay $6.99, and you get $21 worth of stuff. These are cream cheese filled pastries and a spicy chicken empanada. Both were delicious!

On June 2nd, I had my crown placed on my healed tooth. That was a non-event. It took about 15 minutes. I wore a dress from Vanilla Bean and a jacket from Kate and Rosy.

On June 7th, we hiked through the Urban Forest in Huntington Beach Central Park. It's very nice! I have wanted to go for a long time.

Afterwards, I walked in the park while Doc went to the library.

People were sketching the Canada Geese.

On June 8th, we went to Costco with Win. I wore a dress by Ivanka Trump. I loved this dress so much that when the original one wore out, I bought a replacement on EBay. 

I started jury duty on June 9th. I wore white slacks from Semantix, a plain black T shirt, and a pinstripe blazer from Kasper. I got selected for an indecent exposure case. We found the defendant not guilty, and the poor man cried and cried in happiness as we read the verdict. That woman who lied about him deserves bad things to happen to her. Nobody believed a word that she said. The case lasted from Tuesday to the following Tuesday.

On Wednesday, I wore a dress from Ovi with my navy St John jacket on top. Still on jury duty.

On Thursday, I wore an ivory dress from Worthington with a lime green Asian inspired jacket from Helena Sorel on top. I wore an Austrian crystal necklace and peridot jewelry. We were sent home early and asked to return on Monday for closing arguments.

On June 15th, I got my Ipsy bag. Inside, from top to bottom:

Back to jury duty on Monday. I wore white Levi's jeans and a top and jacket set from Antthony.

Tuesday, June 16th was the day we delivered our verdict. I wore a dress from Calvin Klein.

This is the old courthouse in Santa Ana. We are in the newer courthouse. There are cannons out front. It was a beautiful day for a walk at lunchtime. Santa Ana had quite a bad homeless problem in years past, but they have cleaned everything up and planted agave and aloe plants everywhere so that the homeless can't make encampments there anymore.

Today is June 18th, and this is what I wore to run some errands. My dress was scored at one of the Salvation Army $2 sales, and my shoes and jewelry are from Temu.

That's about all for now! I booked a vacation to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. I will go at the beginning of October. I am looking forward to that, but the summer is coming first. Stay tuned!!!
