Elegant Blushing

The last two days, I have been on a pale pink/ blush kick. One outfit is very elegant, and one was fairly casual, but the color scheme kicked it up a bit on the formality scale. First, the elegance:

This outfit is a Joseph A silk tunic and a pair of Editor pants by Express. The tunic is very simple, with the exception of the cold shoulder slits, which are difficult to see. The Editor slacks are a tiny blush and tan check print.

On top, I am wearing a brocade jacket from Jessica McClintock. It is a typical floral brocade, but without any Chinese characters.

I wore three coordinating necklaces, and even though it felt like a lot of frou frou, I got a ton of compliments. The shorter one is Ann Taylor, and the two longer ones are INC.

On my left arm, my J Crew crystal link bracelet, and my yellow gold wedding set.

Onto today. It all started with a pair of blush jeans, since it's casual Friday. Then I added a chiffon blouse  that has tan lace epaulets.

I hurt my back and was out of commission as far as exercise goes for a week, and I guess I dropped a couple of pounds on my legs, since all my pants are baggy. It seems like muscle mass fades very quickly. But I am going to start working out gently again tonight.

Here's a better look at the epaulets.

I wore two necklaces, both rose gold, and both were my mom's. The bottom one is a gift that I had given her for Mother's Day quite a few years ago.

Once again, just jewelry on my left arm- three RJ Graziano costume rose gold bangles and a black/white diamond ring.

And I have one last Mother's Day gift of my own to show you. My favorite designer is Calvin Klein, so I present my latest number from the brand:

Cute, right?? Haven't had a chance to wear it yet, but stay tuned.

Proof Positive

I have so many clothes that I get asked if I ever wear the same thing twice. And here is proof - two dresses that I wear often, but sometimes don't blog about, since I figure that everyone has seen them before. Yesterday, my gorgeous Taylor dress, but with a different jacket on top:

Looking to my stylist for approval - Pandi likes this version better.

She got a bit bored when I asked heer to check me out from the back.

The same jewelry as well - two necklaces that belonged to my mom.

On my right arm, an INC bracelet, and a black/white diamond ring.

On  my left arm, an amethyst tennis bracelet, and a white gold wedding set.

For my astute viewers, you may have noticed the new jacket. It was one of my Mother's Day gifts.
It is grey leather and made by INC. It has the typical waterfall front. But the back is a different story.

All Venice lace !!!

Here's a closeup. Very pretty, but I imagine it will be a fortune to take to the dry cleaner.

Onto today, and another repeated outfit.

This one is identical to the way that I usually wear it. It's a scuba dress from Calvin Klein.

On top, my grey Style and Co cardi that was a purchase in Philadelphia.

My two faux turquoise necklaces were souvenirs from one of many trips to Las Vegas.

On my left arm, and INC cuff that was a souvenir from Fort Lauderdale, and my yellow gold wedding rings. I have mentioned that I like to get things I will use as souvenirs, instead of mugs and stuff like that.

On my right arm, my white enamel/crystal ring from Saks, and a blue enamel/crystal bracelet.

Ay Mamacita !!!

I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day. We celebrated on Saturday. It was very low key - my MIL, Mimi, wanted Kentucky Fried Chicken, so that's what we got for everyone. The kids hardly paid attention to anything or anyone, because Pandi came along. When I picked Pandi up from the vet after her spaying, I was told that she had been a mother, probably twice.

Speaking of Pandi, Doc noticed that she is a little too tiny to easily jump from the floor up on the bed. So for her Mother's Day gift:

A nice big trunk from Hobby Lobby. It now sits at the foot of our bed and little Miss Pan can easily get up and down. And we can store things inside like blankets and magazines.

On the actual holiday, we just stayed home. We took the boy dogs for a long walk, since they didn't get to attend the party on Saturday. I spent the afternoon sprucing up the front yard. Joseph and I replanted all the flowers about a month ago, so it was due to be trimmed.

This is the side of the garage. There is a shelf that runs below the window and a planter beneath that.

The planter is filled with geraniums. They are doing well.

The shelf has three pots - one is a yellow flower, the center one is a succulent, and on the right is a fuchsia. The fuchsia was nearly dead a month ago, but now is flourishing.

The front clump by the driveway likewise needed some trimming and TLC, but you can see that it is doing pretty well, too.

And the sides of the front porch are filled with colorful flowers and varieties of succulents.

One new addition - two of these pretty orange lilies - one in the clump and one on the left front porch.

So today, it's back to work for me. We are in a very busy time of the year, and we also have that cyber attack to deal with and complicate things. This is what I wore:

This sheath style dress is a vintage number from Uno. The skirt and sleeves are eyelet. This picture illustrates that a bit better.

On top, an equally ancient baseball/bomber style jacket from Judy Knapp. I used to wear this jacket all the time in the 80s, with a black jumpsuit underneath.

Since the jacket has so many colors and the dress has no color, any type of gemstone will work.
I quadrupled up - amethyst, gold herringbone, blue topaz, and faux emerald.

On my left arm, two gold/diamond dust bracelets, and a multicolored gem cocktail ring.

On my right arm, two multicolored gemstone bracelets, and a peridot ring.

And that's about it for today !!!

Marooned, But Not on an Island

It's not often that I wear the same color two days in a row, but I never say never, as you will see. First, what I wore yesterday:

This is an extremely comfy and also extremely ancient faux wrap dress. No other pieces needed. I am also back into wearing my waist trainer. I actually forgot all about it for a while. I would have to say that it compressed my gut by about a half inch or so. The thing really works, but I think the main impact is that it makes you stand up straight, which automatically makes your torso slimmer.

On top, I wore a washable suede jacket by Live A Little, from Nordstrom.

I went a little garnet crazy. Two necklaces - one blossom and one cross.

On my right arm, a cushion cluster ring from Colleen Lopez, a four row garnet bracelet that was my mom's, and a garnet/opal/garnet bracelet that was a gift for my 40th birthday.

On my left arm, a cubic/silver bracelet, a ruby band and a marquis solitaire.

I am marooned again today. This is the chiffon blouse from Metaphor that I got the other day, worn over my knit tiered dress from White House Black Market.

Here is a closer look at each piece.

I wore two costume necklaces - the shorter one is another Givenchy piece, and the longer one is of unknown provenance, but reminds me of a rosary.

And I tied it together with my Hermes belt.

Only rings today - diamond/ruby on each middle finger.

And it appears that I am leaving the Island of Maroon, since it's linky time!!!
