Hello Holidays !!

This weekend, we had a lot of activity around Casa De Holtzman. On Saturday morning, I went for my weekly jog through HB Central Park. I saw my little flock of Egyptian geese.

This is mama. Note that she has red feet, and brown circles around her eyes.

Here is the baby - no eye rings and no red feet. Later on in the run - this is what I saw.

A giant white heron or stork or something. He had a yellow beak and black legs.

I guess he got startled or something, because he fluffed up and soared away.

That was a really cool nature lesson. I love all the birds in the park. After that, I came home and we went to a party thrown by our sweet neighbors, Rhonda and David. This is what I wore:

Brown corduroy jeans, a nondescript tan turtleneck, a poncho from JC Penney, and a fur ball scarf from Bebe. I also wore brown fur trimmed hiking boots, but I didn't get a picture.

On Sunday morning, I looked out at my boys. A couple of weeks ago, I gave Vinni an old bathroom rug that I no longer needed/ He treats it like it's his prized possession.

To sweeten the pot, I gave him the cardboard tube that was inside the Christmas wrapping paper. I cut it into two pieces.

Later that morning, Doc and I went to Dollar Tree to get Christmas bags filled with gifts for the little ones. We have learned that little kids love big bags full of gifts. For $15 a kid, you are their hero, and that includes gift bags and tissue paper. Here is what everyone is getting:

The babies get the reindeer bag, the girls get the Santa bag, and the boys get the fox bag. We also made sure that everyone got exactly the same number and type of gifts as their sisters, cousins, and brothers. So no whining or crying.

The girls got the following:  a mermaid dolly, a Frozen chalkboard and sidewalk chalk, some gummy treats, a Frozen puzzle and a plastic tea set. The boys got the following:

A plastic bat and ball set, a dinosaur, some Army men, a Disney figurine, a Funny Animals DVD, a yoyo, a toy car, and two or three books.

The haul for the babies: a snowman plushie, some rubber duckies, a sippy cup, some little travel food containers, and gender specific socks.

Each woman in the family gets an extra gift - either a picture frame or a book to share with their children.
Here is the cornucopia, all wrapped and ready to go:

On Sunday evening, we went to a Christmas concert that our three grandchildren were performing in. This is what I wore:

These are jean style leggings by Hue. They are olive green with gold foil print. On top, I have a gold lurex turtleneck.

On top of that, I have an olive jersey cardi from Target. Olive green ankle booties complete the look.

My necklace is a mother of pearl pendant on a tan leather cord. There are a few green beads at the junction. The kids were really cute and the adult choir was very talented. They had numbers with flute, drums, and piano solos. The children's choir sung three songs, and there were cookies afterwards.

Today, it's back to work. In keeping with the holiday theme, I wore another festive outfit:

These are Chinese brocade pants in gold and burgundy. On top, I have a burgundy velvet top with an embroidered medallion at the chest.

I am wearing burgundy Kenneth Cole slingback shoes. On top, I wore a tan Style and Co ruffled cardi.

I wore an old school brown leather choker with a crystal butterfly on it.

Party Like It's 2016 !!!

Well, today we had our management party. It was at Spaghettini, a local restaurant. I has sirloin with yukon potato puree and mixed seasonal veggies. Yum. This is what I wore today:

I am wearing Loft silk brocade slacks that are dark red and black. They have a side zip and little vents at the ankle. On top, I have a black ribbed cardi with beads made by Barandi, with a black lurex tank underneath.

On top of that, I have a solid black brocade jacket with faux fur cuffs, made by Lawrence. It is vintage, maybe sixties. For the occasion, i busted out a new pair of shoes.

They are made by Style and Co, and are black suede, with the front straps made of elastic shot through with gold lurex.

I am wearing three necklaces. They were all my mom's. The top one is a "Journey Through Life" diamond pendant. The middle one is a herringbone with a crystal bead that can be strung on it. The bottom one is a gold rope with a diamond heart pendant.

On my right arm, a seed bead cuff that I got at the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach.

On my left arm, my Hermes CDC.

Yesterday, this is what I wore. This is a dress from New York and Company, which I picked up at the warehouse sale on Black Friday. It is very comfy, but shorter than I thought it would be.

I wore my Tahari Mary Janes with this - they are taupe suede with copper leather accents. I wore the necklace and earrings that I got at the Taste of Charlotte in North Carolina last summer.

On my left arm, a grey suede and crystal bracelet, and a silver and hematite ring.

All That Glitters is Indeed Gold

Over the years, I have collected a number of glittery, sparkly items. I have never restricted their wearing to the holiday season, but I will admit that they appear daily DURING the holidays. So today, I will show you two glittery, gold outfits. First, on Tuesday:

This is a Style and Co cowl neck sweater, worn over an Ann Taylor plaid skirt with gold lurex. The reason I am awkwardly holding my Baby Phat handbag is because I herked coffee on myself, and then attempted to mop up with water, leaving a huge wet spot. So Doc suggested this fix.

The action shot for the win. I wore one of my mom's Joan Rivers convertible necklaces, this time with the black cabochon.

On my left arm, my Hermes CDC and my yellow gold wedding set.

On my right arm, a tiny diamond X ring, a gold bracelet, and a lab created emerald tennis bracelet.

Today, more gold lurex, less herking of coffee. This is my ancient Express pull on pants, a Quiksilver black tunic with gold studs, and a Jones New York ombre cardi.

I wore my ancient Avon mesh bib necklace. One of the best purchases I ever made, back in the late 70s.

On my right arm, the little X ring again, and a tricolor gold bracelet.

On my left arm, a Betsy Johnson leopard bangle and my yellow gold rings.

A Restful Weekend

It all started with the neighborhood party on Friday night. It was fun and I brought home a plate of goodies:

The next morning, I got up and made Doc some French toast. He brought home a loaf of Boudin Sourdough on Friday. I don't know where he gets these random loaves of bread, but he does.

Then we went to the HB library so I could return some books. Doc shopped for Xmas gifts for the kids inside at the used book store while I went on my run around the park.

Our neighbors from the frozen north are visiting. There is an overabundance of Canada geese hanging out.

Look at the library's Xmas tree!! So cute.

Then we stopped at Marshall's because they always have cool imported food around the holidays.
I got this box of nougat.

I also got an orange and chocolate cream filled Panettone and some pistachio biscotti, which have already disappeared.

And finally, some lemon creme filled wafers.
So her is what I am wearing today:

The crepe blouse is the top part of a vintage suit from Patra that I got in Santa Barbara. You will be able to see the top part later. The chiffon skirt is from INC.

The jacket has chiffon ruffle trim and is by  Nipon Boutique.

Here's a look at the top of the blouse. I wore a simple silver necklace with stations.

On my right arm, an amethyst tennis bracelet and an amethyst/opal ring.

On my left arm, another amethyst/opal ring and a silver bracelet.

And that's it for today, so let's link !!
