I very rarely repeat an outfit exactly, but today that happened. This was one of my fall favorites.
The dress is BCBG, and the waterfall jacket is from Target. Here's the dress without the jacket.
And for an even closer look at the textured knit,
The jacket is two thin layers - the outer layer is heathered grey single jersey and the inner layer is ivory Chantilly lace.
I wore the same shoes as last time - my Tahari taupe and copper maryjanes.
I also wore the same necklace - a statement piece made of smoky topaz and buffalo turquoise.
On my right hand, I wore my Swarovksi duo in Black Diamond - the Nirvana ring and the Platinum bracelet.
The only variation was my left arm - I wore my garnet and opal bracelet and a South Sea Pearl ring.
So there you have it - a repeat of a comfy, cute outfit. Today, I am once again linking with Alice
at www.happinessatmidlife.com for Throwback Thursday. I would have to say that a complete repeat is a throwback - at least for me. Then , I am also linking with Linda Lou at www.alabouroflife.com for a Labour of Fashion. Go check it out, and have a great day!!

The Sparkling Earth
That's the best way to describe the theme for my outfit today - earth tones with a hint of glitter. Here we go
I am wearing a knit sweater dress made by Passport. It has gold lurex trim around the V neck line. On top, I have my fabulous vintage Dynasty style jacket made by Rimini.
Here's a closeup of the metallic jacquard material that the jacket is made of, from the last time I wore it. Now for a look at the sweater dress without the jacket.
The bodice portion is flat knit, and the bell sleeves are flat to just above the elbows, then ribbed to the wrists. I didn't wear bracelets - I usually don't when my sleeves are long and flared like this. I picked this outfit specifically so I could wear my new boots.
They match perfectly. I am still trying to get a non-glarey closeup of the rings that trim the chains, all set with little crystals.
I was thinking of another necklace to go with this dress, but then I remembered my fabulous Joan Rivers piece, and thought that the slight contrast of some of the stones would look nice.
This also allowed me to bring another color in with one of my rings. On my left, I wore a large London Blue Topaz, and on my right, my Swarovksi Nirvana in Black Diamond.
I like this outfit - it is as comfy as pajamas, and looks pretty darn cute!!! For linkups today, since it's Wednesday, as always www.thepleatedpoppy.com for What I wore Wednesday. Then, I got a comment from a lovely lady named Tameka, and so of course, I am joining up for Who's Wearing What Wednesday at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com . I will be checking this new (to me) blog out !!! Have a wicked Wednesday!!!

Happy MLK Day!!!
Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King, for all you did. Rest In Peace.
We went to the Clippers vs Celtics game today. The ticket was my Xmas present. We sat second row, center court. They were great seats. We saw a couple of celebrities - Jennifer Garner was there with her kids, Cateno Mobley sat next to us, Billy Crystal was to the right ( I found that out later on the news. I didn't recognize him) and the CEO of Disney, Robert Iger, was there with his son. First, a picture of the Celtics shooting a free throw. That's Billy in the hat, right of center.
Then we have a picture of Big Baby Glenn Davis giving a sort of invocation right before the game. I know he's considered very fat, but there was a Celtic, Sullinger, who is just as fat.
Here's a shot looking towards the Clippers end of the court.
That's De Andre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and Big Baby. Here's are the three of them stretching. Facing us is Spencer Hawes.
Here's a closeup of DJ. He hung around the center line a lot, talking to Cat Mobley and staring at Jennifer Garner.
Here's Matt Barnes practicing free throws. He is going through an ugly divorce. He has a lot of tattoos.
Last, we have a picture of them warming up. The Celtics are to the left, and there's DJ again.
So what did I wear for this lovely event? Well, I wore the new Navy jersey Bloomingdales jacket, white Michael Kors pants, and a navy and white striped T shirt underneath. I also wore gold and sapphire jewelry.
Onto today - back to work, and like a miracle, my face pretty much stopped peeling and hurting overnight. Magic. This peel went EXACTLY like the doctor said it would. The finished product will be open for viewing on Friday. So what did I wear to come back to work?
A very comfy outfit, indeed. The pants are my good old Fendi tone on tone black jacquard.
The top is a lurex ombre from NY Collection. It's very soft for metallic.
For my necklace, I chose the matte goldtone collar with the multi gemstone cabochons.
I went crazy with the gold jewelry today, too. On the left,
A bunch of bangles and a malachite ring that I got in Vegas this summer. On my right, my enamel/crystal ring and stretch crystal bracelet, both from Saks.
As far as shoes go, I opted for Steve Madden booties.
Now for the linkies. First, Amber at www.induffintely.blogspot.com for Tremendous Tuesday, and then Lauren at www.stylelixir.com for Style Sessions. Check them out - I'm sure you have had about enough of me and my face for a while!!!

Peelin' Away in Margartiaville
Aargh. I had this post all typed up, then I hit the wrong key and ERASED it. So I must try again.
Anyway. first the ViPeel. It started just like Dr L said, and has been peeling like crazy. It started around my chin and mouth, then moved to my nose, cheeks, and lastly, forehead. Now it's starting at the lips again for round 2. Here's the beginning:
This is 3 PM Friday. Later on that day, at 6 PM
The sheets of skin were a little larger. All this time, it didn't hurt at all, and itched about 2/10. Then on Saturday morning,
The skin sheets got larger and spread rapidly. It didn't hurt until Saturday night, after I washed it and put the hydrocortisone cream on it. Then it stung like the dickens. When I woke up this morning, it was still stinging and there were skin flakes in my hair. Right now, it's just tolerable. I put some makeup on to go to lunch with my mom, and it looks pretty good, but it stings. And I have a cold, so I am not the happiest camper on the block. Oh well.
Addendum : It is now Monday evening. All day today my face has peeled (in small flakes like a sunburn) , stung, burned, and itched. This is definitely not a comfortable procedure.
Anyway, On Friday night, as I was driving home, I saw that the Assistance League was having a sale, so of course, in I went. I got 4 items. First, these brown suede boots.
They are brand new, never worn. They have gold chain trim that is held together by gold circles with clear stones.
Pretty cool. I also got a brown knit bolero that is the identical match to the black/turquoise one I wore the other day. Both are made by INC.
The brown version has earth tone trim. I'm sure that I will get a lot of wear out of it, just like I have with the black/turq version.
Then I got a single knit, HEAVY weight jersey zip front jacket that has the most luxurious trim and perfect hardware.
Here's a close up of the trim.
Know why it's so nice? Because it was made by
I have a couple of warm up suits from Bloomingdale's, and in my opinion, they are the best quality out there - the knit is very substantial, and the trim is well made. They also launder beautifully. Lastly, I got the coolest retro jacket.
It's a longer band jacket type shape with a jewel neckline, a button front, and awesome embroidery all around. Here's a better look at that embellishment
Guess who made this beauty??
So yesterday was bright and sunny and in the mid to high 70s. All the rain a couple of weeks ago really helped out my plants and flowers. I went out back to feed the boys, and saw my yellow rose.
I only planted this one a year or so ago, so I am happy that it already produces blooms. Well, Saturday was Elli and my 2 year anniversary of being together. I got her the promised gift - two chicken egg rolls from Panda Express.
I broke them up and put them on her tray with her regular food. She snarfed both of them, no questions asked. A little later, our grandson Preston called, and wanted us to come over and see his new German Shepherd Dog puppy, Annie.
she is 7 weeks old and very pudgy and soft and totally adorable.
Another sweet dog to join our family and spoil rotten. Later, Preston went to Supercross. He loves the girls.
I guess he had a favorite. He is a chip off the old block, that boy. Loves girls, like his pappy and grandpa.
Today, my mom took Doc and I out to brunch at the Hacienda On the Lake, in Mission Viejo, a city about a half hour south of Huntington Beach, and then inland a few miles. It's a manmade lake with large houses all around.
In the background, you can see the famous Saddleback Mountain. There were people paddleboarding and kayaking and cruising around on their Duffy boats. We went to the Lakeside Plaza - there are a couple of restaurants there, and some realtors, salons, physical therapy, and other small businesses.
You can really see the Saddleback Ridge in this one. The restaurant we went to was classic Sonoran style Mexican food - the popular kind, with tacos, enchiladas, tamales, rice and beans. I had machaca, which is shredded beef with onions, peppers, tomatoes, and eggs. It was served with potatoes, refried beans, fruit, Mexican sweet bread, chips and salsa, and champagne.
It was dee-lish!!! For an outfit, I was feeling less than creative due to my illness and my peeling. So of course, I wore my trusty Levis jeans. On top, I wore a crocheted poncho that is done in pink to fuchsia ombre.
It's very pretty. I got it at Nordstrom. I hope it distracted from my peely face. I wore a costume choker of gold tone and crystals.
I was feeling sick, so I took a nap pretty much all afternoon. Then we walked the dogs, and I kicked it again. Tomorrow, I sit second row center court at the Clippers versus Celtics game for MLK Day. I'll fill you in on another post.
I will use the purchase of those brown boots to link with Sheila at www.sheilaephemera.com
for Shoe Shine Saturday. Both my shoes and my face shone brightly!!!

Bob Mackie Wearable Art!!! I have two other Bob Mackie pieces, and they are always memorable, and very nicely finished with lots of embellishments. Can't wait to wear this one.
