9021 - Oh !!!

Let's go way way back to Black Friday. Instead of shopping, we went on a secret mission. This is what I wore :

These are Adidas track pants and a jacket from Self Esteem that has ITALIA emblazoned across the front. I got quite dirty because.....

We went up to Beverly Hills to check on my in-laws lot. they have a 3.3 acre lot up on Beverly Crest.

It looks down onto Coldwater Canyon .

The huge estate you see here belongs to the heir to the Hyatt hotel fortune.

Holmby Hills lies just northeast.

After seeing that all is well - no squatters, no damage, a good look at the house undergoing construction across the street - we went down to Manhattan Beach to check on their other house and eat lunch.

We went to a pizza place by the pier where Doc used to get pizza for 25 cents a slice when he was a kid. It's now $2.95.

Beautiful, peaceful, sunny Manhattan Beach !!! A lot of professional hockey players live there.

Then on Monday, November 26th, it was back to work.

I wore a black cashmere turtleneck from Neiman Marcus, ivory slacks from White House Black Market, and a tweed blazer from Ellen Tracy.

I wore an equestrian print scarf belt, a coin from the Vatican and my LV lock necklace.

I replaced the plain black buttons on the blazer with gold filigree buttons.

On Tuesday, I wore a houndstooth dress from Chadwicks.

It has ponte insets at the waist, sides and shoulders.

This time, my LV lock pendant was paired with a KJL pineapple shaped drop with red crystals.

On top, my deep red leather jacket from id Sport.

On Wednesday, I wore more tweed. This time it was in the form of Mossimo slacks. They are burgundy with hot pink flecks.

On top, a burgundy sweater with pink lurex from Casual Corner.

I wore a mesh button down underneath and two pewter and smoky crystal necklaces with this outfit.

My pewter belt is also White House Black Market.

On Thursday, it poured rain. Hooray !!! We need all the rain we can get in California. I wore a sweater dress from Max Azria with a uncut corduroy jacket by b bennett.

The coin again, this time with a faux amber pendant.

And some high heeled hiker boots with fur trim that don't see a lot of action around these parts, so they have lasted a long time.

On Friday, I went casual for a going away party for one of my coworkers. The stretchy pants were a gift from my MIL.

The crushed velour top has cold shoulders and tie sleeves and is from Cha Cha Vente.

On top, a brocade blazer from Ice.

My jewelry was a gob of garnets - two necklaces, two rings and a bracelet.

Baby Dinosaurs

I had my driveway edged in red bricks, since that matches part of the trim on the house. But Doc and I are not the best drivers, so after repeatedly running over them, most were broken. So we replaced them with dinosaur eggs - 6" grey rocks.

That looks a lot better. That night, Wednesday, November 21, it poured rain. Yay !! It has been so dry here for so long. Here is the sunset that night, just before the downpour.

So let's go back to November 14th, and what I have been wearing .

This is my new Tom Ford dress. I love it. It's so unique and flattering. This time, I wore it with plain black tights.

I went with all blue aurora beads and bracelets. In this close up, you can see the mesh panels.

The next day, my other Tom Ford. This gave me another chance to wear my lavender Sam Edelman shoes.

When I bought them, I didn't realize how many things they would go with - they look like a slightly different color, depending on what they are paired with,

The shorter necklace is opal, and the longer one is moonstone and amethyst.

On Friday, I went for complete comfort with this pirate style dress from Nine West.

I wore my gold leather Calvin Klein belt and a costume crystal link necklace with it.

On Monday, it finally started to cool down. I wore a vintage tan leather pencil skirt with a tan Joseph A sweater.

It has green and brown stones embellishing the V neckline. The statement necklace is also green and brown and I got it at the hospital gift shop. My belt is from Paloma Picasso.

On Tuesday, I wore a vintage sweater and skirt set that I got from EBay.

I paired it with all sapphire and diamond jewelry and my black suede BCBG boots.

I also got my two cosmetic samples. From Birchbox:

From top to bottom:
1) Davines Alchemic Shampoo and Conditioner in Silver - it's purple and is designed to prevent yellow tones in silver or blonde hair.
2) Love of Color Glow Squad Quad single - in the foil packet. It's a bright pink shade that can be used on both lips and cheeks.
3) Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara - I needed one. I had one from Clinique, but it somehow dried out.
4) LXMI Creme du Nil - made with a rare Ugandan ingredient called Nilotica Reserve. It's supposed to make the skin plump and radiant - good for the face, but bad for the butt.

Then, my Ipsy bag came - it's purple with black hearts on it.

 It had Dermadeli Pumpkin Seed Serum and MAC Strobe Cream

Also Helios Beauty cream to powder eyeshadow in deep plum and Ciate setting powder.

And finally, Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray - Oribe is one of my favorite brands.
