Meee-Owww

Well, let's get to the OWW first. This was me yesterday:

This is in the hallway, prior to this:

A nice fat unit of O Pos going to the blood bank. I got another nice T shirt and a movie ticket. One good deed done. Now to the Mee-Oww.

I am wearing an animal print chiffon peasant style blouse with a crocheted skirt. Here's a closeup of the trim at the neckline - black rectangular stones.

For accessories, I wore my Versace belt and purse, and my Joan Rivers convertible pearl necklace.

The skirt is all crochet, but it's line to the knee, with just about 2 inches poking out unlined.

I wore my sadly neglected Nine West sandals - I had to dust them off.

With black and gold, since it's my favorite color combination, the jewelry was easy. On my right, my Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond, and my J Crew crystal link bracelet.

On my left, a crystal/enamel ring and a cuff bracelet that I got in Fort Lauderdale.

And that's it. Onto the links. First, Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com for Throwback Thursday. Alice lives in SoCal also, and on the Fox 11 LA news this morning, the weather girl was also having Throwback Thursday, only she was asking people to instagram their pictures from the 70s and 80s. Then, Linda Lou at www.alabouroflife.com for A Labour of Fashion. Go over and check these cool ladies out!!! As for me, I will just be kicking it here in the office. Have a Great Day!!!

Domo Arigato

Well, in Huntington Beach, little shops come and go. Sometimes, as in the case of Happyness Consignment, I am really sad to see them go. But, we have a new little store that opened right around the corner. It's called Daiso, and it's the Japanese version of the 99 cent store mixed with Spencer Gifts. They have all kinds of crazy stuff for $1.50 per item.

So yesterday, it rained. Since it rained, I couldn't go running. I did one Turbo Jam workout and then got bored. So I went and checked out Daiso. Looky looky what I got:

A canvas board for a portrait of Kenni and a bag of suit covers to keep my nice suits in (there are 6).

A bag of four kitchen towels for Isabel and some hot pink scissors to match my office desk set.

A good luck kitty bowl for Elli to eat from, and a little glass lotus to keep my rings in after I take them off, but before I put them away.

A hair clip with square crystals and a linen visor. And the piece de resistance?

Dog clothes!!! I got Elli a Brasil soccer jersey and a pink swimsuit. I know, I am ill. And the soccer jersey came on the cutest hanger that I will save.

OMG. A sad Japanese emoji Chihuahua. But I wasn't all discount crazy. I did get myself two pair of ankle booties as one of my endless birthday gifts to myself. Here are the black suede ones:

They have smooth leather straps criss crossing them. I also got a slightly crazier burgundy pair.

They have a million buckles, but as you can see, they zip up.

BIRTHDAY UPDATE: In addition to the fabulous decorations and breakfast, my coworkers gave me a nice spread

Look at that fruit tart.

The little one is for me to take home for Doc. In the box:

A Nordstrom gift card, some candy and a wine stopper shaped like a high heel.  Finally, they got me a crown.

Nice Highlights, eh? (Number 64, Cinnamon). Thank you, thank you, generous friends, for remembering me and taking the time out of your day to make mine special - I know that time is VERY valuable for some people, and it's nice to see that people care about good old me.

Also, my grandson Preston sent this to me :

That's his faithful Yorkie, Baxter, helping him. Here's a closeup of the sign.

Then I went to tennis. When I got home, this was on the doorknob.

From my other three grandkids!!! They gave me some earrings and a cell phone wallet. I can use this bright pink wallet, because I can never find my black phone in the depths of my purse.

b So onto today's outfit. It's my grey SunMoonStars cigarette pants, with a vintage jacket by Patra on top.

Here's a better look at the rhinestone trim on the jacket.

The tunic sweater underneath is a grey short sleeve number with lurex shot through it.

This color combo gave me a chance to wear my white resin statement necklace.

I went with silver and white for my jewelry, too. On the left, a costume bracelet with crystals and a mother of pearl ring

On the right, a costume bracelet that I got on Ebay, and a sapphire floral ring.

I finished the outfit with my new black suede booties.

And since today is Wednesday, I am once again linking with www.thepleatedpoppy.com for What I Wore. I join up every Wednesday with Lindsey. Have a great day!!!

Sign Me Up For The EarlyBird Dinner

And the free supply of Depends. And the Dentu-Grip. And the copper knee braces. Today, I have entered senior citizen-hood. And I am going to be that wacky old broad who wears colorful caftans and hits on the pool boy during my two martini lunch. Oh, wait, all of that has already happened.

So what did I wear?? Keep in mind that I have a huge presentation to give at our lunchtime meeting.

Here I am, arriving. Note the Newport News coat all askew, and the new handbag. This is what I saw.

My coworkers asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told them either a Nordstrom gift card, or a baby hippo (if they could find a female). Look at this door more closely.

I asked for it. So I took my coat off.

Aha!!! The famous Bob Mackie Wearable Art jacket!!!

Then I moseyed over to the coffee pot to brew up my usual stomach rotting libation.

The office crow joins in the fun!!!  And Lauren made deviled eggs with bacon and Vicki brought cinnamon rolls.

I wore my trusty Express ponte pants and a gold lurex tank. As far as shoes,

My black and gold boots. It rained yesterday, so the rain shoes are out. I layered two necklaces

One yellow diamond and one sapphire. For my arms, the usual suspects.

On my left, my wedding set and my stretchy crystal bracelet, and on my right, a crystal/enamel ring and a couple of gold/diamond dust bracelets.

So that's about it  Stay tuned for more shenanigans as the day goes on!! Oh, the links!! First, Laura at www.walkinginmemphisinhighheels.com for Trend Spin Linkup. Then Rachelle at www.pinksole.com for How I Fall. Go say hi to these beauties!!!

This is the End, my Beautiful Friend

Oh, Jim Morrison, I guess it really, truly is. Tomorrow, I turn 56. That will be the end of my middle age years. I will be eating dinner at 4, followed by reruns of Murder She Wrote, followed by bedtime at 8 in my flannel nightgown and cap. And that's if I decide to live it up. NOT. HAHA. I refuse to go down without kicking and screaming. I have to stay true to form in the twilight of my life.

So, on that note, here is an outfit that will not be ignored. My boss said that he will not yell at me for wearing my pajamas to work.

I am bright, and I am comfy, so I don't care if I look like it's bedtime. The sweater is by Outlander. I bought it sometime in the early 80s - It cost $128 back then, and I remember feeling like a spendthrift for buying something nice. Oh how times have changed!! The black sweater underneath is by Clio, and the pants are Rampage. All items are very very old. Here's a closeup of the pants.

Yes, I am squatting and holding my sweater up out of the way. Also, check out the 80s era belt. I got if from Spiegel, in both fuchsia and cobalt.

And of course, I have matching fuchsia suede shoes. They are DexFlex. I am wearing black foot tubes because the top of the vamp rubs on my foot bones.

So what purse did I carry? Well, over the weekend, I treated myself and also got treated by my loved ones for the gala BD tomorrow. For my part, I got a laptop/crossbody bag and two pairs of booties. They will be revealed as I wear them. But the bag - Versace.

It matches the belt I have had for a long time. I hope it wears as well as the belt did. On my right hand

My white enamel/crystal ring from Saks, a small diamond tennis bracelet and a garnet/diamond claddagh that Doc got me in Ireland. On my left,

A couple od gold/diamond dust bracelets, and a garnet/diamond ring. So now, the piece de resistance. This is what my mom gave me for my birthday.

Flat black velvet boxes are always a good thing. Here's a closeup of this beautiful braided necklace.

And here it is, around my scrawny chicken neck.

So pretty!!! And I got another box as well.

Oh. Hell. Yes. Nothing Bundt Cakes are the best ever. Here it is, right before Doc and I ate an entire half. It's White Chocolate Raspberry.

That thick buttercream frosting is toe curling, it's so good. And that is a pool of it in the center hole of the cake. Well, that's it for Chapter One. My mother in law, Mimi, gave me four dresses from the consignment for my birthday, so I shall be rolling those out in the coming weeks. But today, since I AM NOT DEAD - yet, I am linking with Patti at www.notdeadyetstyle.com for Visible Monday. I most certainly qualify.
