I have made some progress with the She Shed since the last post. I had this hot pink rag rug, and I thought that the colorful pattern would be very pretty in there.
I also ordered Vinni portrayed as a court jester to hang on the wall. It needs framed, and I'm thinking that yellow would be nice.
It turns out that a red mat and a white frame were perfect.
I also hung an orangutan portrait that my MIL, Mimi, did in pastels. We have a matching picture in side the house.
I bought a beautiful velveteen chaise lounge in dark teal.
Kenni likes it. Kenni likes the She Shed in general.
So does Vinni.
Kenni keeps trying to hide under the clothes rack. I don't get the allure.
I added some striped pillows that I had stashed in the garage. I knew they would come in handy sometime.
This sign was on my office before I went part time. I have a new sign now with my new title - Infection Prevention Program Manager.
Here is the current status of the front corner. it's coming together nicely.
And here it is, all finished.
And the side wall:
How about we look at some outfits? On July 11th, I wore a coral scuba knit dress from Calvin Klein.
The scarf is from La Blanca - it went with a swimsuit from long ago that is no more.
Black accessories finished the look.
On July 12th, I wore an equestrian print skirt from Charter Club with a yellow tank.
The white jacket is Theory.
On July 13th, I wore this ivory shift that I got at JC Penney.
I wore a pastel Swarovski crystal necklace, and peridot rings and earrings.
On July 14th, I wore a long peasant dress from Anna Sui.
For work, I had a satin baseball style jacket on top. I also wore burgundy suede booties.
I wore a gob of garnet jewelry with this.
On July 15th, I only worked a half day, so I wore an ethnic knit tunic from Charter Club with white pants from Semantix.
I matched the trim on the top with my turquoise jewelry.
On Monday, July 18th, another Calvin Klein dress, this time in coral poplin.
The cardigan was purchased from Target in one of their collaborations years ago.
On July 19th, I went to a celebration of life for a dear friend who passed very quickly from metastatic cancer. This dress is from Saks and the brand is Jax. My shoes are Valentino.
The jewelry was mostly given to me by my mom. I always get a lot of compliments on this dress, but I was really sad that day and so probably didn't appreciate them.
I have been working from home for a few days due to a COVID exposure. I was asymptomatic, and I did one test three days later that was negative. So far, no one else has gotten it from me.
COVID activity at our hospital is very high right now - the county estimates that 20% of the population is positive right now. The same thing happened last year. It sucks - so much work for me, and so much fear. And the coworker who was helping me out is hospitalized with a high risk pregnancy, so it's all me until January. Very stressful.
On Saturday, July 23rd, I decided to wear something cute for grocery shopping. This chiffon skirt is another item from the Target / Webster collaboration. The pale pink sweater is Joseph A, and the sandals are the ones I picked up in Indianapolis.
On Monday, July 25th, I wore a dress that I got at Macy's. I paid about $7 for it. I had ironed it and gotten all my accessories ready before I decided to work from home last week.
On Tuesday, another easy dress - I can't remember where I purchased it.
It has a very intricate print with a lot of different pastel colors in it. I wore a variety of semi-precious stones with it - amethyst, peridot and blue topaz.
On Wednesday, July 26th, I wore a pair of pants from Forever 21. I got them in Ottawa a couple of years ago when we were touring eastern Canada. I got two colors because they were very inexpensive.
I wore pink topaz and yellow topaz rings.
Today, I am wearing a comfy spectator style outfit. The slacks are from the Gap, and the sweater is from Charter Club.
I wore two gold necklaces that were my mom's, one from the Vatican.
I got my Ipsy bag. Inside, from top to bottom:
1) Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Revitalizing
2) Lottie London Arch Rival Brow Artist Pencil in Brown
3) Goldfaden MD Vital Boost Even Skintone Daily Moisturizer
4) Basic Beauty Lengthy Lashes
5) Kinship Brightwave Energizing and Brightening Eye Cream
Today, Pandi has to go to the vet. She is in bad shape, skin-wise. I couldn't take her due to the COVID situation, and the first appointment after I was cleared from isolation was five days later. So I will probably get scolded, but it couldn't be helped.
Update : I dropped Pandi off and picked her up less than an hour later. I did fine, but it took three people to hold her down to take her blood. Our vet is so nice - he said that he thought that it was funny that she had that much feistiness. He also thanked me for being a rescue owner.
I have worked at the hospital for fifteen years now. This year, they offered us the choice of a gift from an external website. There were a lot of choices. I was going to get an air fryer, and then I thought that it will just be something that sits around unused and taking up space. So I let Preston choose a watch. He has a collection that he selects from for his outfit of the day - he is a lot like me in that respect!!
He chose this gold tone Bulova watch.
For the final touches on the She Shed, I took a folding bookcase and set it up.
Above it, I hung a linen tapestry that I bought in London.
The rear wall:
Kenni loves it.
So that's about all for now. Stay tuned, because I hope something interesting will happen soon!!
