As I rounded the corner during one of my beloved Huntington Beach Central Park runs, I saw my equally beloved Egyptian Geese.
They are so big now !! In a couple of weeks they went from fuzzy little critters with long red legs to big geese. All they need now is the dark ring around their eyes and then they can go out into the world.
Then I rounded another corner.
Apparently I didn't get the invitation to the party.
If they are all here, who is left up in Canada?
They didn't hurry to get out of my way - to Canada geese, humans mean food.
So let's go back to May 27th, the day before my four days off. I have had very few days off in the last year because of the pandemic. This has definitely led me to cherish these days. Anyway, on that day, I wore a dress from B Darlin that I got a long time ago. It's very lightweight, so I added a boucle jacket with black sparkly lurex woven throughout. It's from Arden B.
My Gucci sandals and a costume necklace finished the look.
The it was back to work on Tuesday, June 1st. Over the long weekend, Doc and I went to a local thrift shop to look at books. They were having a Memorial Day Sale, so I got a few inexpensive items and decided to wear one per day and judge the success of my finds. I spent $2 for each item, so if they don't work out, I will redonate them and still spend less than a six pack of beer.
This day, it was the animal print tank edged in bright orange. It came from Vince Camuto. Under it, I wore another bright orange tank with a beaded neckline that I got down in La Jolla, from Ark and Co.
I also wore ivory slacks and topped it with a vintage jacket from Petite Sophisticate. This was a nice combo, and the new tank gets to stay.
On Wednesday, I wore the printed pants from Ann Taylor. They are a thin fabric and zip up the side.
On top, my Tahari blouse with a knit body and pleated chiffon sleeves.
I wore the same costume necklace from INC that I wore the day before, only this time, I paired it with two longer necklaces. These pants were nice and comfy. They definitely were vanity sized - the tag said size zero which is too small for me, but they looked more like a four, so I gave them a try. They fit and I liked them so I will keep them.
On Thursday, I wore the item that I thought I would like the best. This yellow dress is from H&M.
A different costume necklace for today. Pink hued pearls on faux rose gold chains.
The dress has a fairly substantial self belt, but I could always change it out. My gladiator sandals are also new, but I got them from EBay. I had the same ones in a black and brown combo and I loved them. They died while I was in Minneapolis, and so they got tossed at the Marriott Hotel there.
On top, a blush jacket from Katy and Rosy - the yellow dress has the slightest accent of pink in the flowers. None of my yellow toned jackets matched very well. Doc loved this dress, and so did I, so it can stay.
On Friday, the hospital that I work for had COVID 19 vaccination clinics at a couple of local high schools. I went to help at Ocean View, the school that Luke and Nathan graduated from about 20 years ago.
The blue and yellow chiffon top is completely sheer, so I wore a bright yellow tank underneath and blue slinky knit pants. The pants are from Antthony Designs and the blue tank is from iLook. The yellow tank is really old (like 20 years) and is from XHilaration.
On top, my Theory waiter's style bolero jacket. It was a comfy outfit and that's a good thing, since we had received a few threatening calls from anti-vaxxers. We needed to be alert and get ready to boogie if there was violence. I don't get it - if you don't want the vaccine, fine, take a chance at getting super sick, but don't force your views on others. I have even heard that some people think that micro chips are embedded in the vaccine so that the government can follow your actions. Really? The person who told me this does absolutely NOTHING of interest - I don't think that the government needs to follow him around. Luckily, nothing happened.
Monday, June 7th was cold and dreary. I wore this scuba dress from Forever 21 but had to wear a sweater over it. These rust suede sandals from White House Black Market are actually seeing a lot more action than I thought they would. I may donate this dress - it rides up at the waistline.
Today, it is less cloudy and dreary, but I wore a transitional outfit just in case. My sharkskin slacks are from SunMoonStars, and my abstract print blouse is from Walter.
The fluffy little sweater is from Lux.
The next day, I wore a very nice and comfy dress from Sharagano. It's so nice and roomy and has pockets. My Escada belt finished it off.
Then I topped it with a kelly green jacket from Petite Sophisticate that my MIL, Mimi gave me.
On Thursday, it had heated up a bit. Time for white slacks - these are from The Gap.
My mesh cold shoulder top came from INC.
I wore a gob of turquoise jewelry that Doc has given me over the years. Two necklaces, three bracelets, and rings and earrings.
On Friday, I had to go to the doctor for a long overdue yearly physical. I haven't been since the end of 2018. So I needed something easy to slip in and out of - cue this Calvin Klein dress.
I liked it so much that I got it in both colors - mint and peach.
I get lots of compliments about both colors. I don't have a personal favorite.
We had Doc's parents, Mimi and Win over for lunch on Memorial Day - Mimi brought BBQ ribs, tamales and zucchini over. She also brought these beautiful pink and white roses.
I saw a real Woodie on Beach Boulevard - it stunk like gas and made a lot of noise, but it runs. Note the license plate - WUDN CR8. Hee hee.
These flowers came from Trader Joes - they were only $6.99.
My Birchbox came. The box looks like a papaya.
Inside from top to bottom:
1) Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser
2)Pur-lisse Matcha Green Tea
3)Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Protective Primer
4) Commodity Book Eau de Parfum
5) Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-In-One Rescue Butter
My Anthurium continues to sport it's beautiful flower.
And lastly, my newest little green friend !!! He blended in so well that I didn't see him until he moved.
So next weekend is Preston's birthday, and then the week after that is packing up in the Pod for the floor refinishing. About half the house is involved, but luckily, the bathrooms, the kitchen and the dining room will be not be involved. I plan on redecorating / rearranging two of the rooms. That will be fun, but moving everything won't be.
Stay tuned for some birthday and moving antics!!
