Nothing Comes Close to the Golden Coast

This is both very, very good and sorta bad. But we will focus on the good. It's been sunny and nice out here, but it rains once a week so the yards and new lawn are doing well. And the rate of new virus cases has plummeted in the right direction. We went to Book Off today, and versus 3 weeks ago, there were quite a few more people than we saw on our last visit.

So we left off on February 15th. This is what I wore:

This is a blouse from Express that is crepe on the front and jersey in the back. The scuba skirt is from Sharagano.

Here is the skirt. I have worn it with every color in the pattern, and also with white.

This is a Joan Rivers interchangeable necklace that was my mom's. It has a lot of choices for the colors of the stones.

February 16th was my brother Bob's birthday. I am not big on birthdays, but I did call and congratulate him for being one year closer to retirement.

This scuba dress is from Maggie London. I am wearing a fine knit sweater from INC under it. The sweater is black lurex on black knit.

On top, a very stretchy jacket from Bebe. It's like a straightjacket when zipped up, but it sure does look great.

On February 18th, I wore Sharagano slacks that are black with tiny silver studs. The vest is Joseph A, and has all manner of sparkle sewn throughout the pattern.

A longer blazer from Astuces and Sam Edelman reptile/black booties finished this outfit.

This jacket came from one of the first expensive suits that I ever bought. The skirt is mini-length, so now I only wear the jacket. The brand is Criscione.

Underneath, I wore a red bell shaped dress from Alice and Olivia.

All gold and pearl jewelry and Louise et Cie loafers were the final touches.

On February 23rd, I wore a dress from Victoria's Secret. I got it way back when - back when we ordered things out of beautiful paper catalogs via the mail.

It's extremely comfy and always looks nice. I usually wear a black leather jacket or black blazer over it. I failed to document what I wore this day.

I went for comfort on February 24th too. These pants are tweed and they are pull on style. They are shaped like yoga pants.

The black satin top is polyester and very comfy. It's a fast fashion top.

I wore this jacket from Nite Life on top. It's stretchy twill with a button/loop front and black bugle beads scattered all over the front in a cascading pattern. The glitz level is confirmed by the tripe chain belt.

On February 25th, I wore plain black knit slacks and a black sweater. That is what matches the best with my Fendi baseball jacket. It's heavy knit and so soft. I haven't worn it yet this year, and it's getting warm, so I busted it out.

February 28th was a Friday. I wore my olive jumpsuit.

I wore a gold lurex tank from St John underneath for sparkle.

I got the necklace at the hospital gift shop, and the belt in San Antonio.

The 28th was also our delightful risk manager's last day before retirement. The lucky lady !!

Our COO is also absolutely delightful, and she had a birthday. This was after a very long and hard year for hospital executives. There was a card drive arranged, and I think she got around 100 cards. I got her a gift:

I got it at the Dollar Tree. They were so cool. I got 3 or 4 for myself. They are called flower rockets and you plant the whole plug into soil. I have to wait until the end of March. I already have the planters.

I gave her a pot and a bag of soil as well. There are 500 seeds in each plug, and they bloom until all the seeds are gone.

Look at the neighbor's beautiful daffodils. Spring is springing soon.

This was the full moon on the 24th. It was beautiful.

It looks like a postcard- the palm trees and the full moon. Nothing comes close to the Golden Coast.

My outfit on March 1st was a huge failure. I was extremely uncomfortable. It turned out that the black slip I wore under this dress was sliding up and down. Yeesh.

Here is the dress. Skin tight. I also wore my corset. The entire day was torture. The dress will be washed and put directly into the donate bag.

My blazer is from White House Black Market and is a heavy linen type material.

The front view looks good and feels fine as long as I do not move.

The next day, I felt such disgust for tight clothes. I wore this knit set from Antthony Designs. It is a super soft, super light weight slinky jersey. It's so nice.

My wool blend slacks are from Ann Taylor. They are fully lined lightweight slacks with a plain back and front.

Even tough you can't see it in this picture, the jacket has beautiful tonal sequins in a paisley design. I always wear amber jewelry with this set. I love it - it's one of the most comfortable things I own.

The next day, it rained. I was happy about that. I wore a vintage chiffon dress to celebrate. The yoke is sheer, and the skirt is crystal pleated.

On top, I wore a longer length classic black blazer and belted it over the jacket with my gold/black velvet belt from Ann Taylor. It looked very elegant, but once I got to work, I took the jacket off.

On February 5th, I had an adventure planned after work. I will tell you about it next week. It was Wear Blue for Colorectal Cancer day, so I wore a blue/black wrap dress.

I wore grey booties from Ivanka Trump and all silver and blue topaz jewelry.

I stuffed Pandi into a navy blue dress and got pictures with her for the hospital newsletter. But they can't be published because I am not wearing a mask.

As usual, I have been cooking a lot and still bringing my lunch to work. One day, we had bangers, onions, fries and yellow squash.

One of my notable lunches was BBQ chicken toast. Bread, chicken, cheese, BBQ sauce and fried onions.

Delicious, but next time, a touch less sauce.

And I made bomb meat loaf sandwiches with mashed potatoes, gravy and sauteed onions.

Parmesan garlic  toast, a meatloaf slice, Mashed potaotes.

The base of the masterpiece.

So that's it. Except for the title of the post, and the afternoon adventure. Now that I am vaccinated and community spread is way down, I have been taking care of my sadly neglected self. I got a haircut, got Botox, and got an IPL laser treatment for sun damage. Thanks to the gorgeous Golden Coast. I will give you a complete run down next time. The IPL is two sessions, a month apart.

Take care, enjoy our newfound higher level of freedom, and get vaccinated !!
