Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My !!!

I may have mentioned that I have COVID nightmares almost every night. Doc says that I have classic PTSD, and I believe him. He has credibility, because he gets almost all the cases correct when we watch Mystery Diagnosis on TV. Over 30 years of doctoring will give you that edge, I guess. Anyway, the last two nights, I have been having dreams about wild animals - wolves and a lion. But I never get attacked, and as a matter of fact, have escaped. I am taking that as an omen that this COVID spike may end soon. I hope so. The state has closed downs bars and indoor dining and gyms and salons, which seemed to be ground central for the scourge. I am growing weary.

So what have I been wearing as I struggle through quarantine? Back on June 29th,

I wore this dress that I got in Philadelphia, also at Boyd's. It's from MM LeFleur, and it fits like a glove. It has such intricate tailoring. My shoes are Gucci.

On June 30th, I wore a dress that I got at Nordstrom Rack a long time ago, but never wore. It was only $6.98.

It's made of thick scuba material. The shoes are Top Shop.

On top, I wore my St John jacket - the navy one with the gold studs.

I wrapped it up with this costume necklace.

On July 1st, I went all nautical again. I wore navy slacks with a chiffon blouse that has white anchors on a navy ground.

A gold leather belt from Calvin Klein and some gold and sapphire jewelry completed the look.

I love Calvin Klein clothing, as you will see. These slacks are from his Cerulean collection, I think circa 2015. Same goes for the matching floral top, which is polyester but looks like silk satin.

Here's a good look at the top, and the faux turquoise necklaces that I got in Las Vegas many years ago.

I had to work the entire holiday weekend, at least for a couple of hours a day. We have to submit a bunch of data to the California Hospital Association, in order to receive COVID relief funds. My work family felt bad for me - I really didn't mind so much because there is nowhere to go - so they got me a gift !!

Gerbera daisies and White Claws !!! So appreciated !!

Then the 4th of July weekend started. I live in Huntington Beach, California. Our laid back beach city has a history of riots and raves on the fourth - don't ask me why. So the fireworks went off continuously from 8PM until midnight. Vinni was literally trembling with fear. I guess I will give him Benadryl next year.

We just hung out on the fourth, and on the fifth, Doc wanted to go to the mall, because they have a store called Book Off, that sells used books. The library is still closed, and he would go there 3 or 4 times a week to look at the used book sale. So he is sad. I still have a bunch of gift cards eating a hole in my pocket, so I went along, and went to JC Penney while he went to Book Off. When I got there, it turned out that if you used your JCP card, there was a 40% additional discount. So I got new throw rugs for the kitchen and bathroom, and some more workout clothes, and this dress:

$11.09 less 40% = $6.65. Pretty reasonable. It's from Liz Claiborne.

This is the muumuu that I wore to go to the mall. I also got a stack of $1 books. I was thrilled, but not as happy as Doc was - he is in his element amongst the books.

I wanted to give you a closeup of my crazy shoes. They really only go with my muumuu.

They are from Bamboo shoes, and I really like them, but I don't wear them much, for obvious reasons.

I made more flower bouquets that day, and we also took my MIL, Mimi, on a long walk so that she could get some fresh air and get out of the house.

I made more bean salad - this time I added carrots and corn.

Here is my home made dressing - olive oil, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, dry mustard, Italian herbs, and onion powder.
Doc says it tastes better when I make it - he adds extra stuff. I told him that recipes exist for a reason.

This brings us to July 7th. I wore a cute dress from Sharagano and Gucci shoes.

I had a very bad night that night. One of the doctors at the hospital couldn't get his way with something that was uncalled for. So he decided to go for the low hanging fruit (me) and literally SCREAMED at me. I cried all night long. That is horrible behavior. I have never heard Doc scream at hospital employees. Never. So now I hate this jerk, so good luck getting me to help the next time a problem comes up. I should have been smart and ran for the hills when he showed up, like everyone else did. Live and learn, sometime painfully.

But... my Birchbox came. So that is good.

Here's what is in it, from top to bottom
1) Floss Beauty My Everyday Eyeshadow - it's a nice neutral shade called Tokyo.
2) Luxe Beauty 245 Small Shader Brush - I got two, I think I was only supposed to get one.
3) Dr Pawpaw Tinted Ultimate Red Balm for lips or cheeks
4) TIRTIR Rosemary One Essence skin primer for use before serums and moisturizers.
5) Beauty Protector Protect and Volume hair treatment
6) TIRTIR Bubble Toner Pouches in Collagen, VC Vita, Cica Care and Calm Down

On July 8th, more Calvin Klein. I have this exact dress in peach, so when I saw the mint, I grabbed it. It was at the Nordstrom Rack sale where everything was basically 90 % off. It's a great dress.

That night, I got tired of my dull, overgrown hair. I am NOT willing to risk it at a salon, so I cut and colored it myself.

Looks pretty good. The color this time was Garnier #93.

On July 9th, I wore my Ivanka Trump top again- it's so elegant and goes with everything.

This time, I wore it with a tube skirt that is tan with a lace overlay.

I got this necklace from Gilt - they had a big sale last year, where you could get 4 items for $100. This was one of them. I liked all four items . I hope they do this sale again.

Here is a good look at the skirt. It is very pretty and I got a lot of compliments. Since it is knit, it's also comfy.

I didn't take pictures for a couple of days. I was tired. But on Monday, July 13th, I perked up after a nice weekend with Doc and the dogs.

This top is INC. I got it in Fort Lauderdale a few years back. I wore it with Tahari pants.

On July 14th, I wore a pale yellow skirt with a sweater from Charlotte Tarantola. She was a big thing in LA several years back. I got a couple of her items.

Okay, so on July 15th, I wore this great dress. It is Worthington, from JC Penney. But I got it at Goodwill, and it was $3. I have gone to Goodwill twice in the last couple of weeks, because I miss the thrift shops.

This is such a pretty dress. I wore two of my mom's pearl necklaces with it.

On Thursday, I wore gold silk slacks from Amanda Smith, a Macy's brand. On top, a gorgeous silk tunic with a matching camisole from White House Black Market.

It's a striped watercolor print in gold and beige and ivory tones. It has a high low hem. The shoes are Skechers.

On Friday, July 15th, I wore Express Editor slacks. They are pink, with a grey pinstripe.

So I wore a pink tank and a grey sweater with them. One of the nice doctors at work complimented me. It made me feel good, especially after my last experience with one of the medical staff.

My Ipsy bag came that day. I wish I could Escape!!!

Heres what was in it, top to bottom:

 1) Vegan, GMO free, gluten free black liquid eyeliner. I don't use liquid eyeliner, so I gave it to a friend. I don't understand why you would need gluten free eyeliner. I have yet to eat my eyeliner.
2) Lavido Pomegranate, Orange Blossom and Carrot Hydrating Facial Cleanser - more woo stuff.
3) Sunday Riley Antioxidant Oil with 9 grain oils. A luxury brand that I will try, for sure.
4) Jules Smith Beauty Eyeshadow Duo - another  beautiful duo with two shades of brown, called Wise Guy and Gold Mine. Definitely will use this.
5) Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer from Ciate Beauty. I like this brand.

I will leave you with two pix of Miss Pandora, chilling in the library nook in our living room.
Or parlor.

The book with the dog on the cover is a prop that I placed there, to be funny.

Take care, enjoy what you can, and above all, be kind to others.
