Gettin' Irie!!

Last Friday, I went to see Ziggy Marley at the Orange County Fair. His dad, Bob Marley, is my favorite musical artist. But....... Ziggy may be even better !! I had no idea that Ziggy has won 8 Grammys. He did all of his songs, plus he played some of his father's hits - Jammin', One Love, Get Up Stand Up, and my favorite Bob Marley song, Is this Love. As expected, there was a lot of ganja smoke in the audience. Toots and the Maytals opened for Ziggy, and the crowd lost it when he played John Denver's Country Roads. Toots is an old school reggae artist. He was great.

On the way in, I just had to hug the cutout chicken.

And I had to stop and smell the flowers. As you can see, I wore the exact same outfit that I wore on the Fourth of July.

I was inspired to take this Fabio portrait in the bathroom, because they had air blowing at the sinks for some reason. I lost my Dior sunglasses, but a new pair is on the way, courtesy of the Real Real.

I also noticed some interesting and funny signs on the way in. We had lasagna nachos and fried Mac and cheese egg rolls. The egg rolls were delicious. These pictures will be used for pranks at a later date!!

This steer weighs 2500 pounds. He lost one horn, but the farmer wouldn't say how it happened. He is keeping the steer's secret.

This billy goat was the most magnificent goat that I have ever seen. He had a really long beard and cool little horns. He was also huge.

Well, the big news around my neck of the woods is that I took my board exam and passed !!

Our Board Certification is good for 5 years, so I won't have to do this until 2024, if ever again.

One of the members of senior leadership sent me flowers to thank me for my hard work. It was unexpected, and very nice.

I got a new plant - this is some kind of indestructible lily. At least I hope it is indestructible.

I also found a new candle at Hobby Lobby. It's a mixture of rose and grapefruit.

I managed to get a picture of the leader of the neighborhood pack. I call him Gray Kitty, for obvious reasons. Whenever he sees me, he starts meowing really loud, and if I meow back, he will come over and visit.

Onto the backyard bloomies. The African daisy is doing well - that's not surprising, because they are really easy to grow.

And the orange rose that I planted over Memorial Day weekend is going great gangbusters!!

I was a little worried that it wouldn't take off, but it loves the spot outside where it gets full sunlight for about half of the day.

The roses start off as a very deep orange, and then get a bit lighter, but still very vivid.

I didn't get a chance to show you my July Ipsy bag. Here it is:

From top to bottom:
1) Ciate Glow To Highlighter
2) Mellow Precision Pen Eyeliner
3) Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser
4) Red Earth Brighten Concentrate Oil with Kakdu Plum
5) Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Babe Alert - it's a good neutral color, and it does stay on, but it has a weird feel.

I have four outfits to show you. Doc is at work Tuesday through Thursday, so I guess I am going to have to find some way to take my pictures. You all are missing out on some great looks.

On July 15th, I wore a Celine skirt with a knit top from Saks Fifth Avenue Black.

This silver necklace was a gift from my mom for one of my birthdays, just before she died.

On my right arm, a moonstone bracelet, a diamond tennis bracelet, and a pink tourmaline ring.

On July 19th, I wore my Antthony knit pants with a silk top from INC.

Somehow, the strange combo of brown and green works well. I guess it works for trees, so why not people? I wore my weird green resin necklace that always gets a lot of comments.

On July 22nd, I wore a black, tan and white knit skirt. On top I wore a black tank layered over a white tank. Then I wore a black waterfall vest on top of all that.

We had a heat wave here last week, and sometimes the AC gets a bit out of hand.

Friday was the peak of the heat. I wore some black capris (the zipper broke, so they are now in the recycle bin) along with a mango colored knit tank from Cache. The sandals are Skechers.

The tank has mango rhinestones along the zip front. I wore a yellow diamond necklace, and a semi-precious citrine pendant.

Today is vintage Mary McFadden day. This is a great sundress, that always looks wonderful, and is very comfy to boot.

Here's a close up of the trim at the neckline. I wore all turquoise with this and my trusty Target Gladiators.

Well, I have purchased a few new fall items, and they have all arrived. So stay tuned for a preview of the goodies later this week !! Have a good one !!
